Replacing our Yanmar Exhaust Elbow and Repairing our Sails - Sailing Viridian EP52

In this video, we run through some quick sail repairs due to our recent gale encounter, and also finally fix our overheating Yanmar 3JH2E engine! Originally, we attempted to remove the old exhaust elbow from the exhaust bend, but the threads were seized. As a result, we just went the nuclear route and replaced both the exhaust bend AND the exhaust elbow all at once.

Thanks for the video. We are getting ready to replace our riser/mixer. First option is one like yours with separate elbow and the other is single continuous piece with thermal jacket. How is your set up working out?

I am currently searching for how to remove the lower elbow off my Yanmar. These rust and just break, apparently, due to vibrations. Have to replace mine, heh..

I took the elbow off my 2GM20F Yanmar to inspect. Not much carbon in there. Do you happen to know how the salt water does not flow back into the engine? Maybe the box before the elbow works as a one way valve that only opens when the engine is running.

Where did you order the exhaust elbow from? I have a hunter380 with the same engine
