So many artists in electronic music, so few are musicians, even fewer are great musicians. And so that guy, David August, with that modern symphony, and all his life as a musician, set up a new level for electonic musicians !

Don't think he's acting like a hipster prick. There are people who like getting fed by the generic commercial spoon and there's the other kind of people who prefer digging deep into the shadows of the so called underground music. I prefer underground art over commercial spoonage any day.

+ikbenbnop I know a lot of people that consumers of mainstream trash, but as soon as i introduced them to the underground side, they have quit their old ways. And i would like more and more people to discover this side, who already have an inclination to good taste but are just not aware, and not wish it stays a secret so only i can enjoy it. That was my point.

Saud Hidayat well i agree with you, but i think he has chosen this way... if he wants millions of north american drunk teenagers fans, he can easily start producing "Shitty EDM bangers" you know (spinnin, ultra, tomorrowland, guetta, avicii, afrojack... commercial shit) but no, he has chosen to produce what he likes... classy unique stuff for only classy unique people...

Bit late here but couldn’t agree more - there’s something very unique about both Jaar and August’s sounds which are absolutely unmatched in their genius’s. I think the moment it became impossible to put either of them, respectively, into one genre, is the moment they became their own genre. Jaar being one genre and August another. Absolutely speechless, after many years of their music, at how incredible both are.
