This is definitely shocking. Strictly shouldn’t be cancelled, but the BBC need to learn from all mistakes they’ve made. I hope this year’s series goes the best it can despite all of this
Absolutely keep Strictly. It’s a national treasure but ABSOLUTELY put in place chaperones so dancing divas don’t disrespect their celebrities, also professionals who understand disabilities so people like Will don’t suffer for months after due to poor management. Care during and care after.
Sorry if this comment isn’t related to Strictly and if I’m being over dramatic, but the fact that ITV decided not to cancel Love Island after 3 suicides just made me sick to the stomach. When Steve Dymond took his own life after appearing on The Jeremy Vile Show, ITV did the right decision by cancelling it entirely. But when Caroline Flack took her own life, ITV did the wrong thing, and just commissioned more new seasons of Love Island. Now, I know they’ve adopted strict rules and new aftercare initiatives, but it’s not good enough. If they’d cancelled Love Island, after Thalassitis’, Gradon’s and Flack’s suicides, that would’ve been a step in the right direction.
This is absolutely what I was thinking too.... for all those calling for Strictly to be cancelled - where are they regarding Love Island? Totally agree with you
Couldn’t agree more, the UK media is all very well and good SAYING its okay not to be okay/mental health is just as important as physical health/its important to prioritise your mental health yet WHERE is the follow through for their accountability.. these are the same people that’ll jump into rushed headlines about celebs without checking all the facts and then they wonder why these same celebs have breakdowns and when they attempt or commit suicide they’ll be the same people saying “this came as a shock to everyone, it was so unexpected, no one saw this coming’ when that’s utter horse sh*t; how was a show ridiculing and ripping apart people for their intelligence, they’ve got no brain cells, they should’ve stayed in school rather than take their clothes off etc and then wonder why those comments might’ve idk HAD A FKIN EFFECT AND PUSHED PEOPLE TOO FAR?!? I still have a tad more time for ITV over the BBC as they’ll never gain the peoples respect after covering up Jimmy Saville for decades but ITV really do take absolutely nil accountability for their responsibility to the people creating their salary, if they’ve got no cast/contestants for ALL their shows from the soaps and dramas not just the ticking time bombs like love island, Jeremy Kyle show etc then the network would collapse entirely they’ve got to take some ownership of their responsibilities to the actors/actresses they put on screen.. I like the fact that ITV really do have a diverse cast on soaps from minorities to disabled people and feature good well handled storylines on Emmerdale such as domestic violence, mental health struggles like psychosis etc so they’re doing well with that side of things but as soon as its outside the scope of obvious “acting” and its people not characters its like all their tact goes outside the window and the BBC are just as bad the only difference is they’re not inclusive whatsoever and background checks etc what’s that?💀
Strictly has run its course after 20 years. The format is tired, and the continuous scandals have damaged the show beyond repair. Our licence fee is worth more than this.
Amanda has a history of viscously attacking those she doesn’t agree with on twitter. Including her own son wishing death upon some. I always believe victims first, but her history of attacking then crying victim shouldn’t be ignored.
Taking greater care of the contestants is very good but another good practice would be a proper interview with a medical Psychological Assessment to check if contestants are Borderline with any Mental Health condition that would keep them or indeed the Professionals safe from any Dangers that could occur from the Physical or Mental pressures that competing in strictly will bring to anybody who takes part in what is a Huge challenge to the Stars who sign up for the Show .
It’s so difficult I don’t generally watch Haven’t since Len Goodman left I know it’s well loved but I think knowing of this scandal and what they experience I don’t think I’ll be comfortable watching it
I think Strictly will recover if these problems never happen again with Professional dancers being watched by Production Staff while training Celebrities during practises for the main show.
If I had experienced that kind of treatment, I’d have walked off the show and would have found another way to raise my profile in the hope of furthering my career.
But I have been in a similar situation - alright not on Strictly but in the theatre - and I can tell you I didn’t put up with it then and I wouldn’t put up with it now!
Literally this is exactly what Michelle Visage did, she wasn’t putting up with how she was being treated and she walked; never been so proud of her and guess who her partner was…
I think Amanda could have won Strictly, she was so good, this is all such a shame. I’, surprised that the BBC doesn’t appear to have H&S and medical specialists closely monitoring the celebrities with disabilities to make sure that their professional dancers and the show choreographers don’t risk injuries. The simple answer ref behavior oversight might be to install cameras and have them filming throughout all of the training sessions to provide everyone with confidence, oversight and for the celebs training and practice session improvement in time review capability.
The practice sessions are filmed. Since this has been so publicly reviewed then the recordings of the six offences the BBC agreed to apologise on should be aired to the public.
Years ago when fiona Phillips went on she had a terrible time. The dancer she had (I forget his name) was giving her a hard time, stropped about when they got low scores and dragged her round the dance floor like a doll
Well the Zara situation has been proven to be true but I dunno I'm still on the fence with Amanda for some reason i still don't believe her if gio really did do what he did to her shorly there'd have to be video evidence like with gradz and Zara and as for Laura saying gio sent her a really explicit video why didn't she show anyone what hed done the in fact the only person's side im on is wills the way the show has handled there disabled contestants is disgusting

It may be a family show but all contestants in Strictly are ADULTS, they shouldn't need to be told not to cheat on their spouses/partner's, or bully, humiliate & be physically aggressive with their celebrity partner...they should know better... If they play up sack & replace them.... Don't pay them untill the show has been filmed & it's finished.... Or best of all just do away with the BBC & all their "luvie's" will have to prove themselves worthy of working on TV instead of getting job's just because someone in management supports the team they used to play for or the band they used to be in or even who they're married/related to or friend's with ... The TV celebrities USED to be known as "The Talent".. sadly no longer 🤷🏼♀️
@@saltysliegh They have video evidence of Graziano physically abusing Zara and that's why he was rightly sacked immediately. There isn't video evidence of Giovanni abusing Amanda. I usually believe people when they talk about accusations like this, but there is something not right with Amanda's. Why not update the show a bit?
They need a specialist in sports or dance injuries and physical therapy, and a chaperone necessary.
