It's nice to see the old fleet being celebrated as it should be, just a shame you included the shot of the unit arriving at Birkenhead north with the graffiti on the front! Great trains with character that will be missed once gone!
The Class 507 and Class 508 have done very well with Merseyrail and serving Merseyside for over 40 years. But now they are to be replaced by the Class 777 Metro units that Stadler are continuing on manufacturing more Class 777s.
It will be a sad day indeed when the last PEP gets withdrawn. Far better built quality trains with so much more character about them! I would rather have the 507s and 508s any day! I really hope that 507001 can be successfully preserved by the guy who is doing a preservation project. 001 truly deserves preserving!
