@@saiwantv the word is originally Turkish, but the modern day ajvar was originally created as some sort of substitute for caviar and originates in the Balkan
@@saiwantv So the origin of ajvar that current Balkan countries use comes from poor households in Belgrade, Serbia when poor housewives used whatever they could to make food and feed their families. The original recipe changed from years in Serbian culture until we ended up with what we have now, and since its so mass produced, like any other product, other countries started making it as well and of course with people moving to other countries because of war of course they took the receipt their grandmothers made and carried it over to other countries and continued to make it there. All in all, it originated in Serbia, even if Albanians claim its theirs it's wrong to say its their traditional dish..
@@dzonipro97 I think @SaiwanTV 's point was that even though a dish (in this case ajvar) may have originated in one country, it has become part of several countries culture and cuisine. So when someone says that ajvar is an albanian food for example, they may not mean that the dish originated in Alabania, but that it's just part of the country's cultural cuisine. Just like everyone says hotdogs are an american food even though they originated from Germany.

Football Winner the name is turkish and thats all because we were under the otoman rule for 500 years. But it doesnt matter whose it is the point is every grandma in the balkan countries has made ajvar for her family. It really doesnt matter where it came from it is delicious. The bigger thing here is that she is spreading the idea of The great Albania which should be punishable because it can lead to a state of unrest in this part of the world and with backing from USA and Serbias backing from Russia and China a war could erupt which no one normal person wants. She should apologize for the post because obviously she did not know what that idea represented.
Jesus she didn’t pick the picture. Why is everyone in the comments section an idiot? The editors probably found the picture in Google images or something and just picked it. Ajvar is ajvar no matter where it’s from.
And you are appropriating Ottoman dish. You can find ajvar all over the Balkans because Ottomans gave us that dish like many others. Balkan dishes is mostly ottoman dishes.
@@TheBonhamcarter word ajvar is literally from the Serbian language and ajvar was originally made in Serbia and later spread throughout the Balkans (you can google it) and they even put a picture in the video of "Leskovacki ajvar" and it was made in SERBIA (Leskovac is a town is Serbia)
She made this look easy. She’s got everything going for her. She does everything the right way. If there was an award for best celeb person in the world, I would vote for her.
Ajvar most likely it originated in Serbia, since a lot of food from Serbia was influneced by Hungarian cuisine whitch then spread to north Serbia and lower. The Turkish name sucuk has been adopted largely unmodified by other languages in the region, country of origin Bosnia and Herzegovina. The origins of spanakopita are difficult to trace, although some say it may have originated in Greece over 400 years ago. TL:DR every single edible thing she mentioned does not come from Albania. Makes me want to question is Kosovo really Albanian (ofc it isn't)
Ottoman rule is what spread local cuisine all around the balkans, you can find this type of food anywhere you go in that area of Europe. Albanian cuisine has taken a lot of influence from surrounding countries and has made it its own in a way. Other Albanian foods that come to mind are grosh, gjel, and pet or byrek. The cuisine is not so much bound by the country, each country takes bits and pieces of each others culture. All of it culminates to Eastern European culture in general rather than these foods belonging to one individual country.
by this logic all slavic people (ex-yugoslavia) should leave the balkans since they didn't originate there and instead migrated in the 7th century during the great slavic migration. Btw i don't actually have such radical beliefs, but thats what is feels like listening to serbs.
Kosovo is literally not Albania, it's an autonomous province of Serbia written into our constitution as such and cannot be changed. And it has always been Serbian. Just because there are a lot of Chinese people in Canada it doesnt make Canada Chinese territory
Lightning The name ajvar comes from the Turkish word havyar, which means "salted roe“. Its IN MOST DEFINITELY not „serbian“. If Kosovo is albanian or not you have to visit it and see who rules here. Don’t forget your passport in the border.

🇷🇸Ajvar🇷🇸 (pronounced: /ˈaɪvɑːr/; Serbo-Croatian: ajvar/ajвар; Bulgarian: aйвар, romanized: ayvar; Macedonian: aјвар, romanized: ajvar; Turkish: ayvar) is a condiment made principally from red bell peppers and oil. Ajvar is used in Southeast Europe, in Serbian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Macedonian, Montenegrin, and to a small degree the Slovenian cuisine. In Serbia, it was long known as "Serbian salad"[1] or "Serbian vegetable caviar".[2] It became a popular side dish throughout Yugoslavia after World War II and is nowadays popular in Southeastern Europe.
Literally the whole Balkans eats Ajvar, including Albanians. So when she talks about Albanian cuisine why do you guys all cry so much when she mentions Ajvar? It's very normal for cuisines to include dishes that are geographically spread. Ajvar itself comes from a Turkish word. You all pretend it's definitely Serbian and therefore she's being a liar or something.
Ok Ra Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in 2008 after a history of ethnic cleansing by the Serbian state. By 1999 almsot 90% of the Albanian population was ethnically cleansed from Kosovo as they were pushed into Albania and North Macedonia as refugees, not mentioning the heinous war crimes committed by the Serbian forces (close to 20,000 women raped, ca. 10,000 killed). The map has not the connotation this person claimes it has. The map itself pre-dates Nazi Germany by 50 years. It was a proposal in the late stages of the Ottoman Empire to unify all Albanian inhabited places into a single entity, because Albanians were historically persecuted whenever they were under the mercy of other Empires/States and for that to not happen Albania advocated for such a state. However the Great Powers (UK, France, Austria-Hungary) decided on the borders and left the majority of the Albanian population outside the modern Albanian state. And what happened is exactly what was predicted. Albanians were persecuted, killed and forcefully assimilated by these states. In many of the regions depecited Albanians don‘t live anymore because they got ethnically cleansed. The last instance of the attempted ethnic cleansing was Kosovo war which I explaing above. Until this day Albanians have to fight for these other states to respect their rights as a native people to that land. Serbia to this day claims Albanians are immigrants to the region and have no right to self-determination (that‘s why Kosovo isn‘t recognized by them) and to justify their inhumane treatment of the Albanians. That‘s why that specific flag was posted: it does NOT advocate for annexation of other land, it‘s not a Nazi flag or anything of that sort. It just shows were Albanians live or lived before being ethnically cleansed and to clap-back at those who say Albanians are not native to the Balkans (which is the consensus among linguistic-historians). The whole shitshow started when Dua shared a petition adressed to Apple to put Kosovo on the map as an independent state. As for the Ajvar and Sucuk: both of these are Ottoman and are staples of cuisines of states comming from the Ottoman Empire.
@@TheKs94 Kosovo was the center of serbian culture and later empire, that is why it is called Kosovo and Metohija. Metohija stand for lands of the church. That is why there are so many orthodox churches and monasteries. Kosovo myth is the core of serbian national being. Since at kosovo battle was where othomans were stoped from spreading more to europe at great cost for serbians. Lazar(or Emperor Lazar) we call him emperor but he didn't had that title instead he had lesser title. He was the one who took serbian army to stop othomans and to try to protect serbian people and indetiy knowing perfectly well that odds is heavly on the turkish or back then othoman side. After that serbians became vasals and later othomans take their lands completely. Under othomans people who were muslims and the ones who would take islam as their own would have benefits in othoman empire unlike other people from different religions. In that time othomans didn't look nationalities since nations didn't exist before 19th century. They would only look muslim or non muslim. Non muslim would suffer heavy taxes called(harac), would be oppressed heavily. Churhces would be burned and some turned to mosques. There also were tax by blood wich would mean that eavry young and healty male child would be taken away from serbian or other non muslim family away and trained to become elite turkish soldiers called Janicari. There were also rule of the first wedding night where the aga(turkish ruler from one region) in othoman empire would have right to come at first wedding night and sleep with a women before the husband. Cz of that and other oppression things happened great serbian migration from Kosovo and it south regions to the north to the catholic lands(making that serbian population which were 90% in that time drop heavly cz of that!) . After that and many muslims people mainly todays albanians started to be majorities there since the rise of balkan nations who vage wars against othomans. Albanians cz of that sided to othomans(Prizren Legaue) and lost heavly. Also in balkan wars albanians as a muslims and muslims from other nations sufferend heavy retaliation from serbians, greeks, bulgarians. That is what they calling the great oppression especialy albanians. Since then serbians were trying to get its people back to kosovo but albanians after the forming of prizren league and their state(todays alabania) were trying to get all lands where albanians living and to be clear ethnic albaninan state which is known as great albania. Since then constant conflict is between serbs and albanians and other nations macedoniacn and greeks(but mainly between serbia and albania). Cz of retaliations from the balkan wars albanians were angry at those nations serbs especially and never truly had peace nor normal relations with them. Between ww1 and ww2 population of serbians and albanians were roughly 50%-50%(think it was 60%-40% in the favor of albanians) Then in ww2 Facist italy made great albania as its satelite state and gave all those lands to albania which made ground for albanians heavy retaliation under their special >21st SS Mountain Division Skanderbeg

Future Nostalgia was easily one of the best pop albums of 2020.
@Valentina Valley Hardly possible😂
by this logic all slavic people (ex-yugoslavia) should leave the balkans since they didn't originate there and instead migrated in the 7th century during the great slavic migration.

Ok Ra
Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in 2008 after a history of ethnic cleansing by the Serbian state.
Since at kosovo battle was where othomans were stoped from spreading more to europe at great cost for serbians.

God damn she handled Da Bomb so well. I tried a tiny bit and was dying. She's a beast!!

I tried Da Bomb once too and OMG, I couldn’t feel the top of my mouth for like hours hahaha
AxxL im tired of seeing you self promote bro
She is just from the Balkans 😉
@@AxxLAfriku Do better
I love how at least once every episode, the interviewee is like, “HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT?!”
And even though the real answer is he’s the best researcher/interviewer out there, he’s always super humble about it.
Then you’d love nardwuar interviews
I love how he’s started using Nard’s line too “Youre Dua Lipa, we had to know!”
LMAO she talks about an albanian ajvar and hot ones showing leskovacki ajvar which is in Serbia, i dont think she would like that if she saw lololol
@The One And Only also true
The One And Only theres albanian ajvar and croation ajvar aswell
MrMuffinHix its turkish
Football Winner bro bro bro ajvar is Turkish but Serbia took the name for itself there is no albanian ajvar they even showed od picture serbian ajvar
The One And Only there most definitely is Albanian Ajvar, my mum used to make it at home every summer when we used to live down there
"You're Dua Lipa, we have to know" PLEASE get Nardwuar on the show, it'd be an epic time
yooo
Now Ajvar is albanian?😂😂😂you want to take Ceca as albanian too?!😂😂😂
Ilić Ivan ajvar is hungarian dish and turkish dish
There is Albanian ajvar, Ajvar wasnt created by Albanians but there still is Albanian ajvar
NEK JE UZMU
Yes Ceca is like god to them, after a while they will try to steal her too
Who cares my my.. y’all acting like it matters
"Albanian sudzuk" it says Bosnian sudzuk, "Albanian Ajvar" it says Serbian Ajvar on it. 😂😂😂 The way Albania works 😂
Bosnian Suzuk is maybe ottoman suzuk? 😂
They showed it she had no power over editors lol
@@giv7125 however it is not Albanian... stop appropriating other cultures, it's 2020

i thought I was crazy when she said Ajvar is Albanian, but now she strikes again saying Bosnian sudžuk is also Albanian? girl get your knowledge right lol....
Sofia di Somma we are all Albanian. The whole world is Albanian, everything is Albanian 😂😂😂😂
Most Albanians do eat Ajvar and do eat Suçuk, etc. She didn't say they were originally from Albanians, but denying that they're staples in Albanian cuisine would be silly as well. Thing is this comment section would be hating her on whatever little misaligned word she would have said.
What if she didint know ajvar is serbian dishl ? all these comments about ajvar are stupid just dont watch her videos u ruining the comment section with these childish stupid shit...
i dont get it.....ajvar is also albanian, like its also greek, turkish, macedonian, montenegrins, bosnian, croatian, slovenian.....like sudzuk, even in western europe you find only "prizren sudzuk", "tetova sudzuk" & "bosnia sudzuk". And in all turkish, arabic, greek shops you can buy ajvar only from kosovo, macedonia or turkey....you guys are just wierd educated....
@@nevenagavric29 fun fact about that, albanians claim George Washington was half albanian hahaha. These people are so angry they don't have their own history that they claim others.
Call dua lipa again please!!! She is the legend of hot ones!!!
yes please
Watching Dua eat those wings with class while i’ve seen grown men cry over them......what a woman.
Sean literally said, “Hey, you’re Dua Lipa. We _have_ to know.”
Nardwuar must be punching the air and angrily pacing right now.
Did you imagine a double interview with Nardwuar and Sean?
I was 100% hoping this would be the first comment i saw when i was done watching. Thank you].
imagine just a 1 on 1 nard vs sean interviewing each other while epic background music is playing
He’s done that a few times.
@@greatsleepr1142 OH MAN, I'd watch an interview where Nardwuar and Sean try to out interview each other.

'So I heard, right after you were born, what happened to your umbilical cord was that it's kept neatly by your grandma'
'It was a family secret that you have 103,015 strands of hair before you went bald. Can you confirm this?'

I love the traditional Albanian dish called hamburger. It's like a meat patty between two buns and then you add cheese and ketchup on it. It's soooo good, you should definitely try it.
😆😆😆

Dua Lipa: *Enters the show*
Scoville level: 999 999 999+
He really click-baited us with the background of the studio in the thumbnail. Thanks for all the likes👍
The background used in this thumbnail is literally on every hot ones thumbnail
The studio in the thumbnail? Do you think they have giant hot sauce bottles in the studio?
They literally use the same background on every thumbnail, you bafoon.
Y’all do realize he was saying that he had us thinkin they was at the studio not on zoom or whatever platform there using
@@Shortbuscommandr That is what he meant. But he said the studio was in the thumbnail.
Sean: Tells Dua Lipa to spell "Xylophone"
Hot Ones Editor: *Shows a glockenspiel instead of a xylophone*
I work in a music store. Tell me about it. 95% get it wrong, so I already just assume they mean a Glockenspiel when they say they want a Xylophone lol
Yeah I laughed a little 😂
He showed Bosnian suxhuk and ajvar instead of Albanian ones too 🤣
