I love that you had a bunch of people not understanding what you were doing when you were training the spine meanwhile I came in hot saying I would never do that cause breaking the spine is part of my passion 😂
@@jaimefok A broken spine is sign of a well loved book. A perfect spine is the sign of a well love book as well. It is fun to snap spines in front of the perfect spine group though 😂
I just finished the book I was reading and you’ve motivated me to start priory! It’s been on my tbr ever since it came out but I’ve been too intimidated 😭
I just commented a link. Caroline Girvan hit 3 million so she posted a new 60 minute you tube video. I thought you and Huffy might be interested. I know it has nothing to do with books 😆
I love long books but even I would hesitate to pick up Priory lol. I knew about training the spine but I rarely do it, even so, glad you showed it and explained it to those who didn't know about it.
I include some fitness in my weekly vlogs still :) otherwise- I have explained many times in several videos why I don’t do fitness challenge videos anymore.
The Breathing trilogy by Rebecca Donovan made me sob like a big ol' baby. So did This Star Won't Go Out by Esther Earl. You will need a box of tissue per book. So sad.
Just me watching you videos back to back lol! But the book that made me cry this year was Nightbane by Alex Aster, it’s the second book in the Lightlark series and I am still in shock over that book. And also dying for her to finish the 3rd book. It got picked up by universal so it would be a good book series to read before the movies come out 😊
You’ve gotta make it your next reading vlog, and then record yourself reading the last chapter of nightbane !! It’s an emotional rollercoaster. Especially if you love a good enemies to lovers TWIST 😅
right now there are like 4 books in my currently reading shelf and it never happened before so it really stress me out that how is just happened and how am i going to finish all that book and this situation actually put me in a reading slump so im just struggling but i hope i will be able to finish all 4 book soon so thats my current situation😅
Not sure if you've read As Long As The Lemon Tree Grows but that book made me cry in the first 25 PAGES!!!! It has a GREAT romance, and it's just really good. It's a historical fiction. So there's that if you want to cry.
Well done with Priory wow 😮 that looked immense. Maybe it should be a kindle only read 😂. I’m Currently reading Indigo Ridge by Devney Perry. Loving it so far (half way through). Have a great week!
How was i not following you on insta?! well I'm following now haha btw again -you are killing the tbr game. its soooo inspiring because ...i have so many it can make me not want to pick up a book. But having a reason to pick a book up like your followers picking your books or in my case -im playing in the Escape the Readthon and I want snack squad to win! haha (bookswithlexie is the creator and host :) ) - is a great way to get through our physical tbrs!
I just finished The Curse of Misty Wayfair. 10/10 recommend this book and now I need to find more books by Jaime Jo Wright. Her writing style was absolutely addicting and I couldn't put the book down as I got drawn into this chaotic little town in two different times. You should definitely read this book Jaime. I think you would enjoy it.
Priory I remember being so obnoxiously proud of lugging around when I first read it at school- I reread it this year on kindle (a lot easier on the wrists!) and agree with you on how some of the book could have been shortened or more fleshed-out.... if you still want to try long epic fantasy I recommend The Way of Kings (Brandon Sanderson, absolutely incredible), or the Grace of Kings (Ken Liu, asian-inspired fantasy, also one of my absolute faves) Tress of the Emerald Sea is definitely v different to Brandon Sanderson's general style but I loved the light-hearted writing personally! (Reading it right after Manacled also helped me enjoy this even more as a great contrast after all that darkness :)) On the topic of Manacled... ever since you read it and sparked that curiosity in me I've fallen into the fanfiction rabbit hole whoops... but honestly some of the HP fanfics are as good if not better than published books I've read, and that they're free makes it even better (especially for my wallet :))- On that note I highly recommend Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Falling in Love for a dramione slowburn romcom (super witty and fun)!
LOL there was definitely some strange feeling of pride lugging around that book for sure 😂 I’m definitely working my way through Brandon Sanderson and will for sure get to way of kings at some point! I did LOVE the writing style of Tress, it was honestly a 5 star for me for about 150 pages, and then I just got bored of it lol. But I do appreciate it for what it is! And YES I’ve heard of that fanfic- I haven’t felt the itch to dive back but when I do, that one is for sure at the top of my list!
I had the same problem you had with Priory with the Night Angel Trilogy. It was the 10 year anniversary and they made it into one long beautiful book… but it was such a brick to lug around and then in the middle it was near impossible to hold it open to read. I would have to sit it down to read cause my arms and wrists would hurt from holding it open. It was definitely a two handed book, no casual one hand holding. Also, still patiently 😅 waiting for you to read What the River Knows.
I appreciate you explaining what you were doing with the spine. I was not familiar with that. I am currently reading. Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner and On Writing A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King
Oh, i really waited for you to read The priory of the orange tree (i`m just really scared to drown in this myself 😅) Thank you for another comforting reading vlog 🧡 Also I`m sorry for my bad english, I`m currently trying to learn it, and your vids, as well as reading some books, that you recommended, are a huge help. Also wanted to thank you for recommending Yellowface by R.F.Quang. You mentioned than that this books language is pretty simple and i just buyed it immediatly 😄 Turns out really good and easy to read, so thank you again ❤
@@jaimefok yeah it usually happens when the middle part starts coming up! I literally just tried with from lukov with love and i cracked it😅 but smaller chunks might help! I'll try next time :)

Love your video's. It's inspired me to read more. I would love for you to do a video instead of getting whatever the person in front of me ordered you buy whatever the person in front of you at a bookstore buys. If you already have that book you read it. I'm currently reading Funny Story as well.
I just have to say that I look forward to every video you post! I just love your vibe and the way you share your experiences through a book! I'm super impressed with how fast you get through books, especially Priory! That would take me minimum of two weeks 😂 I just started House of Sky and Breath and I'm so excited to get through Crescent City! 😍
Binding/Keeping 13! The first book to ever make me ugly cry with both emotion and pure laughter. I’ve never read a book that has made me feel every single emotion on every end of the scale, Chloe Walsh just has a way with words 👏🏻 🎉
This was fun to watch! If you ever decide to dive back into the Priory world, I thought A Day of Fallen Night was better! It’s the prequel that was released last year. I’m currently reading the final books in The Poppy War trilogy and the Shades of Magic trilogy. Both are quite a ride!
I’ve heard the prequel was better! Is it also as giant as priory? OMGGGG enjoy the rest of poppy war and ADSOM. To this day, still two of my top fav series.
Yes, it’s pretty much as giant as Priory. But I read it on my kindle, which was a lot more comfortable. I read a physical copy of Priory, and as you pointed out the only comfortable way to read it was with the book on a flat surface.
What are you currently reading?? ❤
