    That internal brake line routing on the Commencal is fantastic!!!

    I bought the Core 2 Dirt Love because of the XL Frame! I am 6'5" and my knuckles drag on the Floor. I love the 4130 Chromoly Frame also!! But I am in need of another DJ Bike, I love the looks of the Intense DJ 30th anniversary edition. Best of all it has the same geometry as the Dirt Love, 68.5° head tube and 72° seat stay. So it would be like riding a 6061 version of the Dirt Love, I would set up the Intense DJ with gears, for running the streets. And the pump track. Then use the core 2 mainly for the Dirt.

      Getting that aluminum Intense DJ for street/pump track and setting it up with some gears would be epic! It has really good brakes on it too and comes with the right tire set up. Share a video if you get one set up!

    What size did you go with for the yt and how tall are you?

      I’m 5’10” and went with the long. Would have been happy either way though 🤙

    Thanks for the comparison. I have always been wondering whether the chain tensioners on the Commencal make it easier to align the rear wheel perfectly straight? I have the other type on my GT La Bomba and I have to make sure that the screws are sticking out exactly the same length on both sides. Less than 1mm difference can lead to terrible "clunk" noises coming from the drivetrain. So, do the little wheels on the Commencal have clicks? if so you'd only have to count the clicks and make sure you have the same number of clicks on each side. Many thanks in advance for any insights!

      Hey great question. That sounds frustrating about the GT. The tensioners that stick out on the YT aren’t that finicky. I don’t have the Commencal any more to double check, but I don’t remember any clicks to count. It was pretty easy to line up the wheel straight though. The bigger issue seemed to always be that it was easy to accidentally make the chain too tight - so just had to watch out for that.

    hi, i'm building a commencal absolut soon, but i'm wondering if a 12 speed chain and chainring will work on a single speed rear cog. also, what size is your absolut and how tall are you?

    • @Ricks-Rides
      @Ricks-Rides  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Awesome.
      I don’t know for sure if the 12 speed chain will work with the rear cog. Either way dirt jumpers use the single speed wide chains since they’re stronger and you don’t have to worry about changing gears.
      I’m 5’10” but feel fine on the large.

    What size Diety bars are those. I was thinking about grabbing a pair I’m 6’4. I was thinking 60mm or even maybe 80.

    • @Ricks-Rides
      @Ricks-Rides  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They’re the 80mm deity highside. I had them on a previous DJ I bought used and got used to them. I just bought the 50mm ones though to see if I like it better. I think the 80’s would be ideal if you’re 6’4” though🤘

    nice job on the review! on the YT, what bar width are you running? I have the same bike in Long; it's a blast

    • @Ricks-Rides
      @Ricks-Rides  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! I put the Deity highside bars on there, 760 mm width (I didn’t cut them any narrower) and the 80mm rise. A lot of my friends have the 50mm rise bars. It’s all personal preference but we feel like the stock 25mm rise bars are too short. The commencal bars (which are stock) have 40mm rise.

      @@Ricks-Rides cool, yeah I think the 25mm is too low also. recently picked up a set of highside +50 bars, but haven't installed them yet. They are 800 wide, so will prob have to cut down. the Commencal bars look good as is. later bro
