It hurts less than some rollercoasters which can really throw you around. You are in a harness and there's nothing to hit. It's not just connected to your feet. It holds you at the waist and shoulders too and the whole idea of a bungee rope is that it stretches and slows you down rather than an abrupt jolt.
People overthink it. It's like a theme park ride. It's fun. Nobody would do it if it wasn't fun or it hurt.
The hardest part is standing on the ledge and overcoming the instinct not to jump off high places. Get your head around that, trust the experts, go to your happy place and enjoy.
Unless you have a genuine terrifying fear of heights I reckon lost people can do it and most will be smiling at the end.

I went there in january and coincidentally did both the kawarau bridge bungy and the canyon swing.the are amzing, it is definitely worth doing. the river is called Shotover River

Hello from Queenstown New Zealand. I finally found out who made this fun Bungy video today. Most people are scared when jumping and a lot more people are scared when watching people jumping on site.

I think the other cord/rope are cable wire/metal so he can not cut it by knife.
