Take care of your dad and enjoy him while he's still around.👍
My dad died in 82 he was very very old school half time I thought
Dad was crazy til I grew up an realized dad was very smart man
I kick myself a lot for not understanding
That sooner like lots of us guys us guys
We always think we know more than the old man but dad was a shape guy if I had listen. Maybe I'd
Figure things out the right way
As a retired tool and die maker/ manufacturing engineer of 54 years Tom Tom your one heck of a craftsman. I enjoy your videos.
My grandpa retired from General Motors as a tool and die maker . That’s a good job to retire from. You can fix anything I’m sure
You have to love Eric’s smile. He always adds to the videos.
,As does Maverick!
Always good to see Eric!
And I think they all need to start paying Eric for all his Celebrity Appearance in the videos. He's a jolly good team member to EVERYONE!!!
@@ToyinFajana Agree!
Doing a job for dad is always enjoyable. May dad just turned 95 and still going strong. Renewed his license until 100!
I just watched a video with a guy that is 107 and he still has his drivers license too. I hope your dad still has more great years ahead of him!
Nice to meet you Bob Bob!
We want Bob Bob to be a regular on the channel!! Please!!! 👍🏻👍🏻 He is cool!
looks super active for his age... and sharp. impressive dad.
I'm seventy and can appreciate the relationship between tom and his dad! I know about balance issues and I relate.
Heck, I am only 58, and I can relate to having balance issues. I hope I can get around as well as Bob Bob when I reach his age.
One of the best feelings was when my dad asks me to build/fix something for him. I am glad you are able to do stuff for your dad.
NOTHING like being able to hang out with your dad! Happy birthday Bob Bob!
The Bob Bob shirt is awesome! 👌
In the rust belt, the standard fix for a floor like that either involves old license plates or road signs!
In the PNW, we don't tend to make a lotta use out of those.. but I did know a group of people who made medieval style armor out of street signs they uh.. happened upon. Then they'd bash each other with heavy sticks in the shape of medieval weapons. Interesting people. Very tiring pastime.
Bob Bob seems like a good Dad Dad.
My best to Bob Bob - it is truly a blessing for you to have your dad around and sharp, what an excellent surprise on my Sunday!
That "tooth" is one of those things that you'll have rolling around in the shop for years until you finally decide to get rid of it. And then, right after you take it to the scrap yard, you'll find a need for it.
There aren't many feelings that are better than having your dad ask you to make something that's important to him. I too enjoy your videos.
Great episode! Nothing like family, especially when you can give back. As a kid my Pops, who’s 87, would rig a chain fall around an oak tree limb for pulling engines. Great memories. I was an industrial mechanic/ millwright during my working life. My boy is a craftsman as well. My boy stands to inherit more tools than any one person needs. My Pops had an auto shop for 17 years and still has all the equipment. At 87 he’s still buying tools. He still fabricates stuff today.
Oh yeah, nice looking welds Tom
I know the feeling when your dad needs something. My dad is 83 and when he needs help with something I can do, I do it for him or with him. I'm glad to see someone has a good relationship with their dad as well. I have a great relationship with my dad!
I love seeing your dad in the shop. I miss mine working with me
I just need to thank you Tom ....from a guy that wishes his dad was around to need his help...god bless ❤️🇺🇲
Tom Tom, I’m approaching 78 and can well identify with your dad. I hope you recognize how frustrating this loss of function is to us old folks who grew up in the shop and on the farm and are used to doing everything for ourselves and for everyone else. I’m also a mechanical engineer who would rather weld and cut than sit in an office, so I identify with you too. My son has many of my tools and some of dad’s too. In a few years he’ll have a lot more! Thanks for sharing parts of your life with us.
Great editing. Love the dynamic, wide ranging insights into life, welding and everything... keep it up!
You and your dad reminds me of my dad . ❤
Anything for Dad Tom. I'm Dad now at 80. My son will always help me also. Seeing Eric is like family. Matt, Paul, Robby, and Ed, all the crews, keep viewers entertained, educated, and wishing we were doing!
Tom, I am in my 50’s. My great grandfather was a carpenter, I have some of his, my da’s and ,y grandfathers tools, all pf whom I have lost. As I really cherish the tools, what I wouldn’t give to have them here still.. I love using them as much as possible.
Touching, God bless you and your dad. I have some Grandpa tools as well. I think of him every time I touch them.
I loved seeing your dad design his project with a tape measure in hand. Precision matters.
What a blessing to still have your dad around. Luv the old timers!
No job is too small when it comes to helping your dad. Great work Tom.
The uuuhuuhh at around 26:48 while staring at the big rust holes killed me! 😂😂😂
It was awesome to meet Bob Bob!!
Tom Tom love you and your dad’s talks on tools , me and my dad use to do hand me down talks also .
One thing I miss is his voice , with your dad on your video will always be with you
Tom Tom I am pretty sure you know this already, you are very fortunate to still have your dad in your life. Glad you were able to share him a little with us.
Nice bumper Tom Tom
My dad had a wood shop till 89. Had hundreds of hours helping him. Sure do miss him. Bob is awesome
I think you better make the WJ a mild build. She's really liking the red. Lol
Great to meet ur Dad & great video, thanx Tom Tom!!!
Thank you Tom for taking care of your dad ! He seems like a great guy !
Nice to see you spending time with your dad .
That's a self draining XJ right there. All ready for water crossings. 😂
One would think that Jeep would put a drain plug under the carpet just for such an eventuality. And make the carpet easily removable so it dries out quickly.
It looks like one hell of an anvil to me!
Tom Tom thank you, the things we do for our parents, they really appreciate it.
I feel your pain on the floorboards. I live in the rust belt.
I don't care what other folks say you TomTom are taking care of your dady❤ you the mantomtom❤
hey Tom, PA mechanic here. looks like a pretty clean jeep! I bought a 95' XJ a couple weeks ago in almost identical condition. exact same rot through the floorpan on both sides, seat rails rotten through etc. It's pretty repairable. I bought a set of front and rear floorpans with seat rails for $400 from an eBay company called F&M Fabrication out of Michigan. you can also get full floorpans for either side for about $600 total - mine came in 4 separate pieces. When you have the pans out, clean up the frame rails inside and out, paint with an etching primer and then an epoxy topcoat. you can do the same for an undercoating, or apply an adhesion promoter over the primer and used a rubberized undercoating overtop of that for a bit more of a strong finish. Good luck!
I was going to sujest the same about new floor pan replacement panels
Howdy bob you guys look like twins
I knew there was a reason why i subscribed to your channel, It's the respect you show to others, especially to your parents. Be well Cowboy.
You made a wonderful balance stand for your dad. Just looking at him tells me he is a great guy and loves you. Hold him close to your heart Tom.
Thanks Tom Tom for another enjoyable video. Nice to meet your Dad and your Wife's and Eric's cameo appearances.
Great to see Bob Bob. Seems like an awesome guy !!
love seeing your dad. hey bob bob
That’s a hydraulic hammer pencil we’ve got those things laying everywhere
Way cool!! Great to see my friend Payton again!! Been quite the journey from his barber shop in his living room!
I know how your Dad feels. I turned 82 a short time ago. Glad your Dad has you to help him out. Your a good man, Tom.
Great seeing Dad! My boys and I are all gearheads and we all have some of of his tools. Seems like tools lasted better in the past I am 75 and I understand the "wobbly" feeling getting out of bed. I recommend just sitting up on the bed for a few seconds just to get some BP going.
That’s good advice!
Eric randomly appears in everyones videos. Small town eh?
Tom, you can buy replacement panels to weld in, no big deal. I did both sides on mine. They come with the seat mounts already welded in.
Emergency bumper surgery is my favorite surgery. And if we can't get it right the first time we'll upgrade it to something better. There's no better project than a father and son project. Great video keep up the good work!
Tom Tom so nice to see you and your Dad work on a project together and that should help him get in and out of bed.
The old American tools are some of the best quality.
Dad Dad is pretty COOL COOL!😃
It's a good deal that you found that rust in the floor when you did. It would have been a bummer to build that new bumper for the JEEP and then just have to part it out because the floor was too far gone. Looking good.
It was and enjoyment seeing you and your dad in your shop
It's okay to be from Arizona. My dad went to Washington High School in Phoenix.
I'm ready for some WJ projects.
Thanks for sharing.
Nice to see Bob Bob 😂
I’ve just recently scrapped the breaker like the one you have, never thought of turning it into an anvil. Doh, I’d love an anvil
Loved this video Tom,it was good to meet your dad, and I'm so pleased to see a son love and do for his father, much respect to you Tom 👍
Interesting clip Tom!
From one Bob to another … nice name tag!
Well hello Bob Bob and happy day to you!!!
Great seeing your dad!
My mom is in her 80's she also likes to have something that she can just hold or touch for balance.
*BOOM* Bob's my uncle! 🤣🤣 Thanks for sharing a snippet of your dad with us and your projects
Awesome content Tom. nice to see your dad and you working together. Love and appreciate them while you can!!
I would have thought some round tubing or at least rounded corners would have been appropriate for Dad's railing. Even people without mobility issues bump into things.
i lost my dad 4 month ago😢, still hurts
enjoy your tom!!!
Shout out to Bob.
Bob-bob! So good to see family together, great stuff!!!
When you get around to adding a keyless chuck to your drill press you'll wonder why you waited so long for that as well.
I used a hand plane the other week. Right tool for the job.
Morning Tom thanks for the video
“I’ve done a couple of these but I don’t really remember how”. Man I felt that comment. 🤣
Your Dad could pass as my Dad's twin brother. Uncanny!
I love the family commitment to hiking boots. The MOOR clan all wear shop boots and flounder in the sand and canyons.
Great content, it was good to meet your dad and Payton and what he’s doing. Looks like real good things you may want to talk to your little lady about what to do with the YJ she kind of sounds like she likes it. That’s one beautiful anvil that you’ve got there definitely be talked about.
Please buy a pre-made floor pan for your XJ! Your XJ and sanity will thank you for it!
Agree. Fix it right
Miss having my old man around.
Hi it was great you introduced your dad on video. You are right the apple dose not fall far from the tree. Really enjoy your videos 😊
I'm 79 years old and I appreciate what you're doing here. Keep up the good work.
Great to see you again, just stay real!
I never had a xj without rust
Bump stop in between the leaf springs and unibody are real bad to rust out , that’s what I’m dealing with right now .
I love that you got all the Makita stuff. It’s the only independent tool company.
The opening mouth thumbnail is so epic 😮
31:20 WHOA!!! ... Sticky Stuff saved the DAY!! ... that stuff really works!!
LOVE the “round anvil”
You have excellent hoarding inventory procurement skills …
Your fix looks great. However, when you find more rust, there are really good replacement floor pan kits for the XJ.
Really awesome to see you help out your dad. I am definitely not old enough to understand using something for support but putting no weight on it lol. I hope one day I will get there though. Thanks for the fun videos!
I think it needs a little bit of armor on the 1/4’s and some steel wheel flairs
You can use Eastwood internal frame coating comes with a hoes spray it up in the unibody or any frame shouldn't have to ever worry about it. Then on the top of the floor use POR 15 stuff works great glad you are able to save it
Nice seeing you work on a project with your dad...
Glad to see you can save the xj. Take care
Bob, I might only be 50 something BUT I totally get the dizzy thing. Great to meet you Sir.
Red ZJ I would almost have a mild build on 35's. Keep it totally streetable.
