@@ApexPowerSportsllc hey man so I have a 2009 kfx 450r and I didn't use it like for 6 months and recently I started using it and I could hear a small noise an I believe it's the chain I Chek for the timing marks and I literally can't see the little line, do I need to remove the top cover to adjust the cams or can I just get rotate it counter clockwise to TDC
@@bryanperez6920 there's 2 port caps u remove at the crank and slowly spin it over counter clockwise. (Easier to do with spark plug removed) odds are the cams don't need to be adjusted if it starts easily and they check out fine with the feeler gauges. There IS suppose to be noise due to moving parts but it's always good to double check and to make sure you cam chain tensioner is working properly
Thanks man I'm doing it tomorrow I'm going to rotate it till it's lines up with the notch it doesn't sound loud like other quads I've seen with the same problem but I'm pretty sure it's that since I can't see the line when opening the caps I'll let you know if it works
It went out of timing? You need to put your finger into the timing chain tensioner hole and put a small amount of pressure you make sure that it's in the right spot when its installed
It's always good to mark the chain and cam to remember the timing. You also have to remember the cam chain tensioner can change the timing if you dont remove the chain slack from the crank to exhaust cam. Needs to be between the crank and intake so when the tensioner extends it wont move your timing marks
here 2help hey man I got a 2009 kfx 450r that will not start because the starter relay so we were trying to get her to bump start but won't run because it's out time we think. Any ideas?
i have a 08 KXF450, is it the same concept ?
