I have a question about a 110 im wanting to buy. The guy says that it has a brand new carb on it. He also says it needs adjusted a little as it’s kinda slow to start. But after it starts the first time it cranks right up the rest of the day. He says this is all caused by it idling too low because the idle screw needs adjusted. Does this sound correct to you? I'm lacking enough experience to tell if this is all adding up. I thank you in advance for getting back to me about this!
Is the choke “ON” when your starting it. If not then that may be the cause of a long start. It’s a plastic lever on the side of the carburetor. Move it counter clockwise which will then close the choke. That should help. You could adjust the idle speed if you wanted too. Its the top screw located on the throttle shaft. It should be a Phillips head.
@@Tylerjschmidt I just bought 2 honda 3 wheelers a 1978 90cc atc and a 1985 110cc atc and im new to atv's and i appreciate your replys.do you know which is which coming off the tank and which one goes to the top and bottom of the petcock?
David Helmick if you look inside the tank you will see two feeding ports, one is longer than the other, the shorter one is the reserve, you might need a flash light to see it if you have a metal tank, but mine is plastic so I can see the transparency through the sunlight, hook the line up and usually the carburetor is labeled on the reserve valve witch line feeds which.
@@Tylerjschmidt thanks for the infoand i need all the help i can get.i will look in there like you said.the 90cc was ran opposite of the 110 and i switched the 90cc lines around and added in line fuel filters a few days ago.early this morning i started the 90cc to see if i had power going to the rear light and i did so i installed a small red l.e.d. light an hour or so later i try to start it to see my new light and it would not start up so my son and i used the 110cc to pull start it and it fired up but 15-20 my son tells me that the hi gears now longer work,we have low gears(low & hi selector lever)but the foot shifter seems limp and will not move in hi...im more puzzled why it will not start from the pull rope...my son was always telling me about his friends having dirt bikes and four wheelers,things i cant afford being a single dad and i dont want to let him down.I cant take these to a shop and im thank you for your advise.btw im not very computer knowledgeable also lol
David Helmick yeah I’m not computer inclined either, but I can help you, so your ATC is having shifting problems right? On the right side of the motor there is a rubber boot on the end of the cone shaped portion, behind that boot is a 14mm nut with a flat headed bolt in the center of it. That adjusts your shifting slack. Crack the bolt loose and turn the screw counter clockwise slowly until you feel slight resistance than back it of 1/8” of a turn that should help the issue significantly.

All you would need to do is turn the screw with a Philips screwdriver

David Helmick You have the main line and a reserve Incase you run out of gas.
