Good job. It’s good to mount your marten box higher and wire the trap to fall away from the tree. Once a wolverine or fox finds your marten line it will eat every one you catch. Mice and birds will clip the hair too.
Nice to have Ben on the trap line. I am glad you didn't trap a wolverine on Ben's first trip around the trap line. We may never see him again had he had to deal with a bad tempered wolverine. Keep us up to date as the winter progresses. Take care.
I found your channel 2 years ago and I love it . I've watched all your previous videos and wait for each new one. It is so cool seeing a real life wilderness trapline. It is so far from the world I live in and that's what I like about it! You are the ONLY channel that I get notifications from. When I see the light on, I KNOW it's a new one from you. Thanks, Jennifer in Minnesota.
Good to see you on your line again. Ben is working out fine! Sure glad you went with the boxes. I told you last year.👍 keep the videos coming Andrew... hope you get colder weather soon. Dog has lots of Energy. 👍
Had to become a patron now, really enjoy the updates. My first year with marten trapping, so its good to see the sets. Hoping for better fur prices the next couple of years.
I have found once the mice and voles find your bait, and if your boxes are mounted low enough that your marten are dead on the ground? The mice and voles can pretty much destroy the fur. I mount my boxes high enough that my marten are hanging totally off the ground. They climb trees like a squirrel, mounting them high will catch just as many.
Hey man from a fellow Canadian keep the videos up we understand the videos are a lot of work but much appreciated, nothing better then sitting down for the evening and watching someone live the life most of us dream. of keep it up!! 👍
Cheers from the mountains of Idaho. I hope you have a safe & prosperous Winter ahead of you, keep the videos coming they are always enjoyable to watch.
Ir's gonna be a great season! Love you coat Andrew. Keep the videos coming. We look forward to every one of them and don't forget to give Groot a pat from us. Love that happy go lucky young dog attitude. He's a beauty!
Looks like your thumb isn't bothering you too bad bud! That's good to see. Still have no snow on the ground here in Minnesota. Lakes just starting to ice over today.
I need to benefit from hearing Andrew's cheerful and enterprising voice telling about his life. Man, it is strange around the cities these days. The heart has gotten some kind of sad.
Good to see ya again! Got cold and then warm down here in Minnesota and now it’s starting to get cold again making ice, ready for icefishing and Trappin take care up north!
You know Andrew, you are the best. Not only in trapping but with your stories and way of telling the tale. I really appreciate that you take us along your journeys.
Ben is a good apprentice and he just showed his hidden skills a bloody damn good camera man too! Were’re going that’s way boys!!! You need to make shirts with that sayin!!
Right On! i wondered how the purple thumb was, then the trap slipped!! hellzbellz,,, Budwizerz help make that box?lol. good trapping plan you got,,, and gooder help, yo Ben,,nuff sed, beerz to ya.
Yes Andrew by good see yu again. See its pretty warm up ther same here in Labrador. Lookin forward to seein the fur next run. Skunk essence is wa we uses fer marten draws em in k.
Right on a Andy, glad to see you've got a partner. Hello Ben !! Thanks for sharing andrew we really enjoy your content. Peace brother. Thanks for the comment andrew. Carry on
Holy, Is that Ben Ogigone working with you Andrew? Send my regards. I haven't seen him since our DJ High School days. Remember doing traditional Inuit Arctic Winter Games with him and our teacher Brian Goering lol. That goes back to the late 70s. Had a good laugh watching your last video when you stepped off your machine and got a booter in that peat bog. Same thing happened earlier in the week to my youngest boy and myself when we were out looking for moose. Mild weather so far this year and river didn't freeze up well here around Paradise Valley--pretty rough with lots of overflow.
@@TheWildNorth Lol, Ben's old school for sure. We only had manual typewriters back then at DJ and no computers lol . Ben worked with your Uncle Buzzy and the Gostick brothers at Pollard's fishing lodge if I remember right. I worked with his sister Bernie at the Ptarmigan back in the day. We're hobby farming now here in Paradise Gardens. I enjoy following your TH-cam channel. Keep up the good work! Larry Munro aka "Your old gym teacher from HC School"--cheers!
holeh just came from your moose nose video from years ago and your still going hard on youtube haha nice hope all is well with you during times like this👍
It'll be good seein' you stack up some Martin fur this year. Little Rudy's growin' like a weed. He's a GOOD boy, that one ! That is crazy how the river's not solid yet. When I lived in Kotzebue, AK... the rivers were pretty much freezing up by mid-September. Kotzebue Sound was freezing up by this time. So (Andrew)? How many beers does it take to get a box that looks like that one you were showing off? LOL
Good to see you back out on the line cousin but man that fur price is dam low this year so far. Stay safe and shiny side up bro. All the best to you and Ben and Groot
Andrew, that spruce grouse would be perfect to train Roudy on a SEEN or BLIND retrieve. What training will you be doing to maximise his potential as a grouse/ beaver RETRIEVER? We think your videos are F.....g brilliant ..much appreciated! Have a great trapping season, stay safe and all the very best from Indi the Springer Spaniel here in rainy North West UK.

Hey Ben! Good luck Martin trapping, you got a master for a teacher. Couldn't make out how you keep the traps up inside the upside down traps. You got a nail or something in there, or is it just friction from the springs? They won't slide out that way?
Dear BRP, Andrew has 15,000 subscribers. Get him a new Ski doo to demonstrate. He will be an excellent ambassador. After winter then a new ATV. Best advertising you'll ever doo.

I'll make sure I do that in ep5 ok buddy

I did trap a wolverine wen he was with me the other day. But I wasn't filming that day
@@TheWildNorth Oh really, interesting. Well, it was probably an experience Ben will never forget.

Fuck yeah bud. Good to see back out in the line. Good luck this season
Here in southeast ak we use pole sets that way they aren't hanging against the tree but it's neat to see the different ways people do it
Wow on the open river. Good video.👍😉🇨🇦🐾🌲
Nice to have an apprentice to help out. Great catches. Those boxes in that position seem to be working out well.
Glad to see your catching some fur brother. Seems like a good start to the season. I always enjoy your videos

Great video again, Andrew, looking forward to more great videos to watch keep them coming.
It is nice you putting videos out again.
Good to see another video, nice to have someone along now , pass on your knowledge. Al
I like that hawbakers marten lure
I like how you talk ”there’s 3 chickens and Bens gonna crab his 22”😀
We always put our boxes about chest height. Any lower and you run the risk of mice chewing up your marten from the ground.

loving the regular uploads bud 👍👍

Always a beautiful day for Andrew.
Ya bub! Thank you. NH checking in.
Keep us metis proud cuzz keep doing ur thing and posting videos cuzzle .
Do you think a slightly smaller box/trap set up, like the ones you use for Martin now, would work for squirrel control?
Absolutely

Do you get a fur check from the Yukon as well as the auction?
I don't live in the yukon
@@TheWildNorth i didn't mean the Yukon forsay, but they do subsidies in some places and it makes the fir actually worth something
id love to set traps with a beer
Out of curiosity, would you use an enclosed cabin air conditioned atv like a bigger argo for trapping? Or is it because of fuel and maintenance costs.
Impossible to get that around in the north, with narrow and sometimes bendy trails. I think it would just be unpractical.

Lol @ gas and sugar money. What do those cost up there?
Now I see how people accidentally get shot.
