Very nice flooring. I had no idea there was a floor leveler compound out there to spread on the floor boards to actually level the floors prior to installing a vinyl or laminate floor. My son lives in an older mobile home and he needs to install new flooring. This is not an overnight process but the end result was certainly worth it. Thank you for sharing! Great job. jh
Yes, they sell it at lowes and Home Depot. Just ask around if you can't find it. It is simple to use. The instalation for the floor was easy, just time-consuming. I had never done it before, if I could do it I'm sure anyone can.

I hear you when you say- physically exhausting work and have no problem admitting how weak I am compared to my husband. Glad to see you using knee pads- hope they are god ones. We are old & trying to do this work and wowzer does it hurt.

The floor looks great. 👍🏻I am planning on putting new flooring in my mobile home, as well... what kind of barrier(padding) did you lay before laying the flooring down and did you have to buy it separately?
Awesome. It was a generic brand. From home depot. Whenever you buy the floor I would ask which on will be best. Because it depends on what material the floor is made of.
What is that "self leveler" never heard of it
We are renovating our 97 Oakwood & currently working on floors too. What is the name of the self-leveler you are using? I'm going to replay the video for my husband tonight. We put down some 5 mm "plywood", but...
Well we used the schulter thin-set mortar that we already had that way we didn't have to spend money on it. But if you need to purchase it then it would be better to use a self leveler that is made to be used with an underlayment. Like Mapei self leveler plus or comparable. There are many different ones I would ask the rep of the shop you will be buying your floor from.
What do you use to cut the boards?
What do you put down around the 9 minute mark?
It's called an underlayment. Some of them act as a moisture barrier. Some are just for added cushion. You can ask a rep at the store if you need this when you pick out the flooring you like.
Did you nail them down?
No, I has a locking system. No nailing needed
Some water damage?
Yes, the previous owner told us that there was water damage from a hurricane several years ago. We didn't mind considering the price we got it for, it was still worth it for us.

Exactly, but we are happy with it. It's better than where we were. So we are happy.
