@suzanetenezagregorio7218 That situation can be very difficult and it's helpful to talk to someone out of that circle of people if that is the case. I hope you're OK.
Hiya Carol, I have a situation that I am going through at the moment, I am currently a trainee nursing associate and was on my base ward that was supportive and lovely team however I was moved to different base ward in a different hospital that is further travel which is making me struggle to get there as it takes me 3hrs to get home via public transport but I have requested to move back as I don't feel comfortable on the new ward due to issues I have raised as the nurses on shift didn't want to show me around or teach me anything even when I seeked learning opportunities they refused me to observe them or to do a set of observations with there supervision. I don't know what to do anymore as the Trust is refusing to move me I've been in tears and thinking of leaving the NHS
So sorry to hear this Kayley, I think some staff have a lack of awareness of the nursing associate role and your proficiencies that need signing off. I would suggest you escalate to the ward manager, the university course lead and/ or who ever is in charge of trust placements. Try to do this in writing/ email so you have a record. They need to support you. Don't give up, I had a poor placement experience but when you register you can choose a positive area. Take care ❤
@@carolforde-johnston It has been escalated and I just think the travel is too much for me especially doing 3 long days and a uni day it's too much, they keep saying no xx
@@kayleyconroy7276 You could try escalating higher up to Programme Director, Head of School and even the University Dean. If no resolution try the Quality and Standard team and HEE regional lead Hayley (names should be on their website depending on which region you are). My understanding is that it is a University issue regarding your placements. It definitely needs escalating further if you are not getting proficiencies signed off and regarding 3 hours travel = 6 hours a day is too much. I hope you get it sorted Hayley. It would be such a shame to leave.
This was super informative. Thank you very much for breaking this down in a way that is easy to follow

The problem is the staff who displays incivility is close with the manager/seniors/supervisors/management
