One of Stevenson's darker adventures, this story was left unfinished at the time of his death - but Colin MacDonald's adaptation includes his own ending for the story.

Quite right too. She played Mina in a 1990s radio serial of Dracula which I have on my other channel.

A master of tales began it, and a second master of fine tales concluded it, wonderful!

I do love RLS and I'm always on the lookout for a new adaption of his work. I first heard this one a couple of years ago. Excellently done though pretty melancholy.
The Master of Ballantrae also has a very good radio adaptation and it's in a similar vein that would fit perfectly on this channel.

I quite agree re The Master of Ballantrae - and I'm a little startled to discover that I haven't already put it on here, so your suggestion is a welcome one. This said, I actually have TWO radio adaptations of that story - one a feature-length play from the 1994 (when Radio 4 had a whole season of Stevenson adaptations named 'Tusitala - Teller of Tales', including another version of 'Hermiston' adapted by Robert Forrest) and a two-hour serial from 2004. I shall put both versions on the channel in due course, but I'll try and put one of them up before the end of October.
