T Mike I really enjoy our videos, I'm currently working on 52 ELTO 3D10E to use as a backup motor for my fishing boat. I still am confused over many things on this outboard but am slowly working my way through it.
This reminds me of a problem with 5 evinrude of the 50’ a friend had it. He said it would run for about 15 minutes and quit while on the boat. So went over brought fresh gasoline and mixed with oil. Dumped what was in the tank into a safety can. Refilled gas tank the engine ran fine. We put it on boat ran around on the river for an hour no problems. The next day he went out and in 15 minutes it quit. I went back to his house looked over the engine. I said show me everything thing you do when to go out in the boat. He never knew about the vent valve on the fuel tank. That is a doctor for you.🤣🛫
I've had several of these types motors including one made by Goodyear. Couple of the problems I remember are you will always get gas on your hands & trying to refill the gas tank when the water was rough is very difficult had one catch on fire after i spilled some gas
Mike, another awesome video! I recently inherited my dad’s 1940 Evinrude 3.3hp (similar to the Handitwin). It has one of these carburetors. I have yet to work on this motor. It has good compression but no spark. Also the carb will likely need cleaning. This motor hasn’t run since the late 60’s. Where can I get carb gaskets for the rebuild?? Do you sell them??
Thanks for sharing T-Mike! You are a true oracle 🙂. I do love you videos. Keep em comin 👍🏻

Hey T Mike, what are the proper turn out adjustments for the main jet and idle speed jet for this carb?
