      Hi Sabrina - You are so welcome! These are always fun to make - Just play with them a bit and you can make them wide or narrow depending on how many folds you work in. Have Fun with it!!

      You are so welcome Darlene! I make a couple of these every year and they are always different. You can experiment with different sizes and adjust the folds to make it what you want based on the paper you have.

    Hi Julia. I have been watching your videos and really enjoy them . I had ago at making this tree card . I had to play the video several times to get the folding right. I did manage it in the end. I am in the UK. Looking forward to more videos. Hilary

      @SeniorSusieStamps  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hilary! That tree is a lot of fun, but you do have to be willing to fuss with it some.
      I make them different widths, and heights so they all end up being individualized. But I have found that if you make a few, the concept gets easier and easier to figure out with a size change. Happy crafting!! Julia

    I made some for Christmas cards a few years ago. My circle was a little smaller than yours and the instructions given were more complicaded, I still have a little sample among my stuff somewhere. I love your instructions, you make it so simple to follow so I will make myself a template from your instructions to put into my Christmas box of goodies. Thank you for posting this!

      You can make these in all different sizes. Sometimes you have to fiddle with the folds until you get the results you are looking for. If you're unsure, start with some ugly paper you don't really like!! It might even surprise you...

      I think I finally figured out the math - 45 degrees makes 4 sections/3 folds, 30 degrees makes 6 sections/5 folds. The total has to equal 180 degrees in order for it to work perfectly...So go find your protractor!!

      You are not alone in that. Sometimes, when you modify a piece, you just have to take it in your hands and fuss with it until it looks right. Those skinny trees have an extra fold or 2 and you do have to play with them a bit...hope that helps??!!

    This is great. As usual. You have the best ideas. I may try making one of these using my Cricut to cut a big scalloped circle. I will have to look for some double sided paper though, most of mine is white on the back. I like the skinny tree best, but the others are adorable too.

    • @SeniorSusieStamps
      @SeniorSusieStamps  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Sybil - The easiest skinny tree is 30 degrees instead of 45 which should give you 6 sections and 5 folds. Post some pics over on facebook page so I can see. Using you Cricut is a terriffic idea, I just don't have one, and so I used my candle cover LOL!!

    acetone will clean up the gummy stickyness from sissors. if you use parchment/baking paper and stick strips of foam tape onto it you can cut the strips to whatever size and they peel right off whick meams less gunky sissors

    Hi there Julia..., or should I say G'day!
    WOW Julia, you never cease to amaze me, and todays video I was amazed. How cute were these Christmas trees, and how easy they are to make. When I saw the half circle I was wondering where you were going especially with all the folds, but the Christmas tree reveal was amazing! I have done my Christmas cards for this year, but I will have to keep this one in mind for next year for sure.
    My favourite cards were the pink ones as I love pink.
    I was approached by a lady at my church, and she asked me if I could make birthday cards for all the people who attend church, and then send them throughout the year... starting from next year. I agreed, and thought it was a lovely way to bless members of my church.
    My only dilemma is that I don't know how to do masculine and children's cards... especially children's cards, and now I am feeling a little stressed. It looks like I will have to study up on TH-cam videos for those cards to get some inspiration.
    Also, I might have to go to my online craft suppliers to see if I can find suitable and versatile stamps etc...!
    Actually, she wanted me to start straight away, but I said no, not until the New Year as I want to concentrate on Christmas first, and also, I want to make a start on building up a supply of cards to start sending next year.
    This will be the first time that I might have to make easier single, or two-layer cards in mass production... argh... I don't know how to do that!!!
    Julia, did you get your TH trimmer?
    I was naughty and extravagant... I recently purchased a Misti, and some accessories to go with it including a grid mat, sticky mats and the creative corners set. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, they are expensive in Australia, but on saying that they would be expensive everywhere!
    Wishing you a wonderful day in your craft studio my dear friend.
    God's blessings, prayers, love and hugs from your Aussie friend, Gloria! 🥰🎄🎁☕🍰💐💖💕

      @SeniorSusieStamps  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Howdy Gloria! LOL isn't it funny how our world is so varied in greetings?!
      Now, BRAVA YOU for accepting the card making challenge for your church. When I start looking for inspiration I always do a simple Google search and then look at "images". For example this is what I found on a search for "Handmade Childrens Birthday cards" and some of them are very cute!!
      www.google.com/search?q=handmade+childrens+birthday+cards&rlz=1C1CHZN_enUS964US964&sxsrf=ALiCzsZtUPzml_QOv3nUEELi0W417n8_Jg:1667559615448&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjl2JTUr5T7AhXhK30KHTH_BpwQ_AUoAXoECAEQAw&biw=1536&bih=722&dpr=1.25
      I am thrilled you gifted yourself a Misti and accessories! Such a wonderful tool. You will be using that on these cards for sure. Oh how I wish we lived close, I have a great collection of stamps for kids and men. There are wonderful older sets on ebay if you have that available. Such a shame shipping is so high, or I would send you some of mine to use. But I have every confidence you will rise to the challenge and make beautiful cards - I am just so proud of you!!
      Have a wonder filled week and take care of yourself! Julia

      @@SeniorSusieStamps Hi Julia, thank you for the encouragement as I am feeling overwhelmed as I really don't know how many I will have to make throughout the coming year and beyond. I am awaiting a list of names, ages and addresses!
      You can see that I have NEVER done anything like this before. I have always taken my time making a card, and sometimes I ponder over a card for days, and sometimes weeks. I find this is going to test me to my limits, and if you can make hundreds of cards for your seniors' homes etc... why can't I make some birthday cards!?!
      It was fun looking at the children's cards, and in fact that is my biggest concern.
      I will certainly keep you up to date with my progress... maybe through your email address if that is okay with you as you gave it to me a while ago.
      Blessings, love and hugs from your Aussie friend, Gloria! 🥰☕🍰💐💖💕

      @@gloriaonesimus6244 Absolutely use the email address and send me some pics!!!! Reach out to me any time and I can perhaps help you work on streamlining some cards. In the mean time I will keep my eye open for some nice men's cards too.
      Remember deep breaths and one card at a time. I have a birthday list by calendar date and make next month's this month. Get them all sealed up and put the date where the stamp will cover it. Then I send them about 10 days early so they get to the recipient on time.
      How large is your church congregation?
      Keep me posted, Hugs!! Julia
