Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain were triathlon athletes meaning THEY WERE TWO OF THE MOST ATHLETIC GUYS IN THE NBA EVER. Wilt chamberlain picked Arnold swarzeneggar up by the waste and put him on the hood of a car. Russell was a high jump champion and could touch the top of the backboard. Y’all gone miss me with the “Shaq was the most dominant player of all time BS” when he really flamed out at 32yrs old.

For sure. I don’t mean any disrespect to the old school greats. The only guy I even put on Shaqs level of big man greatness is Hakeem and I find it insane that no body ever even thinks of putting Hakeem at the 5 but they’ll throw guys who played in the 50’s and 60’s their shine. To quote Jordan I take that personally. So it’s either the dream or Shaq at 5 for me for the rest of time.

@@killybass3925 three? You saying MJ is the third? Damn, kids these days talking about being able to shoot is basically saying 'can he shoot the three'. Bro, there is SO MUCH MORE to shooting than jacking it up from three. MJ was probably the greatest mid range shooter of all time, he was also a great finisher with insane acrobatic ability to change and alter his shot depending on where the defenders were. You saying just because he shot 32% from three that he's not a good shooter? You're insane. There's something else you are missing....the three point shot has become LESS efficient the last two seasons than the two point shot, the league is evolving away from the three point line and back to the paint. The last five MVPs were awarded to three bigs, Jokic who is a career 34% three point shooter, Embiid a career 33% from deep and Giannis a career 28% from three. Last season the two point shot was worth 1.096 points per attempt while the three was worth 1.083 points per attempt. The season prior it was 1.066 per two and 1.062 per three. For many seasons prior to that the three point shot was more efficient. That's changing.

Today's game is much kinder and gentler. Today, there is more perimeter shooting. Back in the day, the game plan was always get in the paint, fight for position, and take the high percentage shot. Even your best perimeter shooters back then passing and getting in the paint. It's a different game today.

The smartest move putting Bill Russell on Shaquille O'Neal because the first time shaq got out of hand against Bill Russell, Wilt would on the next play watch and then grab shaq and throw him out of the way....Wilt hardly ever bothered about being hurt himself (except in some notorious incidents) but you attacked or hurt one of his teammates or especially a friend like Bill Russell and Wilt who hated bullying would move giants around the floor like tea-cups....
Not that Bill Russell couldnt handle himself because he feared no one on the basketball court....but wilt was beyond special on the basketball court, a giant with speed, athleticism, stamina off the charts and power and strength that no other player in the nba ever had....
Could you imagine it happening....Shaquille O'Neal for all his size never met two defensive greats like Bill Russell or Wilt in his entire career....even Rodman wasn't the defender that Bill Russell was and Bill was fast over short distances and had good stamina....
Bills cackle as shaq was moved by Wilt would be a Joy and to see the Big Dipper (big guy) on the court tirelessly demonstrating his finesse game of basketball that Shak never had and a peak Wilt had the number on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.... Kareem would score but Wilt and Bill Russell would cut his scoring down by 10, 15 points and shaq wouldn’t be able to push wilt back....if three nba players holding onto wilt couldnt stop Wilt, shaq couldn't move him....

When picking your team you have to set the rules. 3 pt line? 3 seconds in key for defender. Hand check Flagrant fouls. (No lay ups) There even used to be a 3 to make 2 free throw rule

@@JAS30411 Yes, either way, I separated John and Karl (almost like peanut butter and jelly) because I did not want it to be a pick and roll game. I remember the all star games, John and Karl would make it look like a Jazz game at times.
Lastly, I chose the team because of court chemistry, defense, and fundamentals (with the exception of Shaq's FT%).

As a diehard Spurs fan since 1997-Present, it'll be hard for me to pick anyone other than a Spur, but if I had to pick other players w a Spur:
    C - Kareem
    PF - Duncan
    SF - Pimpin' Pippen
    SG - T- Mac
    PG - Iverson

Back in the day (my day) a lot of public b-ball courts were paved in asphalt; in the summer don't stand still or your shoes would melt. I played before Nike MJ's, almost every one had Chuck Taylor Converse All-Stars. You could always find a game.
