0:00 You didnt include the two other jump animations for NSMBU. Mario has three different jumping animations in NSMBU, and they even look different when he faces the other way due to perspective.
The new animations kinda resemble more, Super Mario World
It’ll be hard saying goodbye to the classic look we’ve had since the GameCube and DS, but the new game feels like a 90s game somehow. Already feels like a classic
A 90s game? Hmm I don’t know, it feel more like a 2020’s game to me.
That's because most of the sprites resemble the first games' sprites and old art before the 3D era came in! :0
Mario finally developed emotions lol
Sunshine and Galaxy’s endings:
why do u say that
I love how they actually have a pipe animation now and its not just him sliding into it
I love the 2D look they are going for it looks so cool
someone already said something like this but: the nsmbu animations are okay, but smbw's anims have far more charm, you can tell mario's personality just by looking at them
this like actually makes every other new series mario game look unfinished
@@playablemuseumor perhaps actual mario fans who like to see different art styles
@@micahfurlow2624 how am i rate baiting?
@@matthewlopetegui6204Oops, I pinged the wrong guy, you're good my dude
I'll correct the comment
@@playablemuseum dudes rage baiting hard hoooly
@@micahfurlow2624 oh it’s ok, it happens
Nintendo is looking back at NSMBU thinking, “THERE IS NO PASSION, THERE IS NO VISION, THERE IS NO AGGRESSION, THERE IS NO FUCKING MINDSET, IN THIS MARIO GAME!!”
The crouching in this game is such a goofy animation and I love it
Whoever made those animations deserves a raise.
These animations look pretty cool because Mario is being watching classic cartoons and anime for his movements and facial expressions.
Mario looks so lifeless in NSMBUD 💀
I mean tbh, we didn’t care about it when it came out. At the time it had great graphics and Mario looked fine. Now that the new game is out and it is so expressive, you really want to compare a lot of details.
@@sonerkamer2678but everyone complained about the game being lifeless back then too
@@sonerkamer2678People definitely complained about the NSMB series being bland and lifeless when it came out, the worlds, levels, characters, etc. It’s just that you’re right with only the little details in the characters.
Mario never fails to fill me up
AYO
I feel that.
wh... what?
@@strangefishman7635That isn't a double entendre, it means exactly what you think it means
He bringa da meat
I love how now we have new pipe animations, the old ones don't even look like an animation before he just stands there as if the pipe just poops mario's
Many pipes *do* have poop running through them, so that makes sense in a way.
Never realized how odd of a jump Mario does in the nsmb games. Looks nothing like the iconic jump.
Edit: the one shown first specifically
The new ones feel like a hand drawn cartoon, which is endearing to me
I love that the crouch is based on Super Mario World! That makes me so happy!
I'm SOOOOO glad Mario now kicks the shell again instead of throwing it!
NSMB animations were made with a technical purpose, while SMBW animations are made with an artistic purpose.
new animations are so good they make the old ones look terrible even if they aren't
@@playablemuseumthe old ones aren’t terrible but it’s an improvement nonetheless
Wonder's easily better, but I think people overexaggerate when saying that the New Soup games look like garbage.
Like, bro, you want a 2D platformer with 3D models that does look like crap? A copy of Sonic Colors Ultimate is waiting for you in the bargain bin.
Sonic Colors Ultimate’s models aren’t THAT bad
Wow imagine another 10 years I don’t even know how it could get any better
Near the end of the ground pound animation Mario's eyebrows clip through his hat
I like how in Mario bros U when going in a pipe Mario just floats in and out
Like in any other previous 2D mario game. Including the 3D ones 🙄
why does marios jump look like grand dad 7
The way he gets the mushroom power up 0:50 when it’s slowed down you can see his mouth is closed which makes it look like he ate the mushroom. I’m in LOVE with these animations.
I like the Fire Mario Transformation lol that lil spin he does is 🔥🔥🔥
I really love the Wonder animation now..
I think what makes the new animations greater is that you can see Mario's facial expressions based on whatever he does because he's almost always facing the camera. Mario Bros U Deluxe had mario facing sideways so he doesn't move with as much emotion.
Those new animations look so clean, they’re definitely a upgrade. Not that the old animations were particularly bad but there is just so much detail put into the new ones, take for example that running animation where Mario’s legs turn into blur and the new animations for picking up Power-ups
(@@playablemuseum) To each their own, I like it 🤷🏽♂️
@@playablemuseumit’s a cartoonish style for a reason, have you ever played a sonic game in your life?
One thing I liked about the jump animation and noticed immediately, is that it looks *exactly* like Mario is depicted jumping in his first games. (Think, Mario Bros. 2 "USA" version)
Man look at those nsmbu backgrounds and compare them to Wonder. People who say Wonder looks like NSMBU definitely need their eyes checked lol.
I like the new animations and art style honestly
When comparing the two its so weird how lifeless Mario looks in NSMBU in comparison to Wonder
Yup
I'm not a huge Mario fan like I used to be in the GameCube Wii era. I like the new graphics in Wonder but the old graphics and animations in the NSMB games still looks clean. Watching a lot of Mario maker vids from Dashie got me used to the old style. Wonder looks too cartoony and Mario is always smiling which is weird
@@mart5610 isn't that everything Mario's known for? A happy jolly guy?
@@mart5610I feel like it’s just because of nostalgia that you prefer the old animations. Also isn’t Mario a cartoony franchise? That’s like saying The Last Of Us is too realistic.
@@mart5610 I guess u never liked the transition of SMB to SMWorld style then bc its "too cartoony"
Wonder's crouch animation is hilarious. That bulbous nose 👃
Super Mario Bros. Wonder looks a little cartoonish than I expected.
I have no idea what that means or what you said, but I couldn't agree more with you.
@@xavierkittreles1998he’s saying that people are dumbfounded by these animations and we are, he should at least play the game before thinking it’s all about animation
Mario looks full of life and joy!
I hope more Mario games in the future try new styles like this one did, a hand drawn 2D Mario would be a dream come true.
New Super Mario Bros is what it always claimed to be. The 2D games with 3D models.
