Lagoon also said that the bulkhead problem wasn't their fault, but when you look at the workmanship it clearly was their fault. They didn't even tab bulkheads to the hull, just a smear of glue (which separated) without any glass over it. I'm 60 been around boats and building boats all my life and I've never seen such bad workmanship. If anyone had died sailing those cats they would've been sued into obscurity

I'm with you Bobby about the heads. O/O, 2 heads is fine, but if you ever want to sell it as a charter you may have trouble. Personally, I always thought a 48 to 50 footer would be the ideal self sail that would give you enough storage space and more cold storage space. I would love to see you get into a Silent Yacht for a week so you could evaluate that ! What a life !

I'm curious why they didn't put in a reverse camera like they have in most cars these days. You'd think that'd be really important when you can't see the stern, especially on a charter boat. For that matter, they could also throw one on the bow just for good measure.
Most boats of the size have several external cameras. It just isn’t standard equipment. They are more than happy to charge you extra to add those at the factory or they can be added after the fact.
We chartered a 2016 Lagoon 450 in the US Virgin Islands last year. Pretty much the same boat but with a few nice additions on the new one, particularly the system for the traveler. I really like that. We had a crew and they stored a lot of the food that was less perishable under the floor boards in the salon. Nice boats, love the space in the salon and in the aft cockpit compared to our 44’ monohull.
Keep checking the main structural athwartships bulkhead supporting the mast as Lagoons are infamous for this failure as they get more sea time under sail.
My question is why does Lagoon use plywood tabbed in for bulkheads? They should at least be fiber glassing in the wood if they are going to use wood. I mean all of it in lots of layers! There seems to be better techniques to use for bulkheads, and I realize they are an entry level cat for charters mostly. I have to say, I don't like their fix kit either, seems like a cheap fix that might not work, who knows? For me, when I am ready, I will really be looking into the way the boats are built under the cosmetics. There are brands out there that are much higher on my list, but again, I will be seriously investigating under the cosmetics. I feel bad for the Lagoon owners because I am sure this has taken the value down on their boats. I just don't get how sliding in 2 more pieces of plywood and some glue and then adding a metal cap is going to really fix it, and if the bulkheads are completely broken that fixit kit won't work at all. Also, it's not just 45/46 foot boats there are those with 50 footers who are having this challenge, and I know people who have a 42' Lagoon that had to fix their bulkheads. I hope they are looking at better ways to build them and they are changing away from plywood tabbed in for their bulkheads. I wasn't ever impressed with them in the first place. To be honest, part of me loves the monohull experience, I started out sailing lasers in the 90's, so I like sailing for sailing not to get someplace. Islands are just a reason to sail!
At the 17:00 min mark you showed the controls for marker lights, bilge pumps ect. If you have younger children or friends with younger kids that's not a good spot for the controls.

I like old school switches and gauges also. You can fix them or bypass them when something goes wrong. Which it always does on a boat lol 😂 Usually at the worst time lol 😂

I like the Lagoon 46. The solid FRP cockpit roof is mandatory to make a good enclosure for passages, I agree the davit winch must be the Harken flat electric winch. I wonder what type of batteries they use, min. 800Ah Li-Io batteries would also allow to get rid of that ENO oven, as they don't get hotter than 160 deg C; for bread and Pizza you need 200/220 deg C, Also I would like a B&G screen at the nav table in case it's bad weather or I am on autopilot and down in the saloon. The outside area at the entrance makes a good spot to put the water maker. Then of course is the question where do you put the solar panels? The boom is ultra high above the water line. The cat walk to the anchor , splitting the trampoline is mandatory for me and a reason why FP boats are out of my consideration. 600 lt water tank and a water maker of 60-80 lt/h that runs off 12V batteries is OK. With a genaker or a Parasailor the boat will go well and be good for passage making. 4 bathrooms and four toiletts to be maintained are a no-go for me. The 2 bathroom version also allows space for a washing machine. That's about it whats needed for a bluewater cat. Great movie I love your videos.

Bulkhead break on them every time pretty much i have even seen a 2019 with broken bulkheads I'm not sure if they cheap out on materials or if it's a design flaw I'm a commercial fisherman and been looking for a sailboat for a while now but haven't got anything I like the lagoons but I don't want to spend $100,000 to fix it

I dont like the fact that the wheel amd controls / gauges are up top amd no way to get outta the weather if the waves get rough. Of course im not a avid boater so i really cant say alot based on lack of knowledge based on boating
