I hear you on the volume placement - I have this one and had the Soul F-Bomb for a while (at the same time). No matter where I set the seat I couldn't get comfortable or a good trim in the FBomb, which is also listed at 55 gallons. The SuperNova is the most comfortable boat I've been in, it's ridiculously stable, and floats me great. The volume placement in this boat is very well designed.
Finally, my awesome local river school and kayaking shop, Calleva’s Potomac River Supply got a stock of the SuperNova & Nova in stock and I did not hesitate (My 3rd boat from Calleva). As you expressed, Dagger boats have been nearly unobtainable, so don’t wait until spring/summer. Calleva also got in some Rewinds, but I already have an Antix 2.0 for half-slice. For my first full slice, I really wanted a modern design, well rated, versatile and reasonably comfortable. I got it in the beautiful Aurora color. As with many of my recent purchases, your reviews were a major influence. Still trying to figure out how to adjust outfitting. I’m only 5’7”, 175 lbs. w/ kit, 29” inseam, but I had to pull out all but the 2 bulkhead blocks to fit in with seat in middle position. Where do you set your seat and did you remove all but the 2 blocks?
Hey Wade, I already watch all of your videos about the Dagger Supernovas and Novas and also from other creators, I love this boat. But unfortunately there is no retailer around my area where I could sit in this boat or test paddling it, so I thought about buying it blind. I mean it will paddle like a dream from what I heared, my only fear is that I buy the Supernova and can't fit, in you know. What do think can I fit in it with 6,3 feet, 220 pounds and size 14 shoes?
You will 100% fit trust me that boat was made exactly for your size I’m on the top end of the nova and the bottom of the super but I like a bigger boat so I have the super very foamed out to fit

Wade, at the stats from the homeslice say it's smaller than the Super Nova. SuperNova 27" wide 7'9.. Homeslice 26" wide 7'7 . Would like to see a side to side comparison

I have both an Ozone and a Loki, both of which I like. The Ozone has the big cockpit and is more comfortable, the Loki, is wider and more stable. How would you say the Super Nova compares with those designs (other than the obviously superior outfitting)?
I paddled the loki some here and there the loki is more or a river running slice it’s a good boat but I felt it was to short and had to much rocker for my liking
I think this boat is so damn awesome, but the only thing I have to complain about on my beloved Dagger boats, as always, is the durability of the Contourergo system, which is actually so well designed. But otherwise I think the Supernova is just awesome and I'm curious how it can be paddled. The price is a lot but hopefully it's worth it.
@@MicajahMcCurry I'm paddling a Dagger Axiom 9.0 for 3 years now and the material of the hippads and the seatpad is so badly made that it destoryed its self from the normal use. Thats the point were I think Dagger could work on, the rest is all fine compared with other companies and there prices for boats.
@@fritzrademacher happy to pass it along. That’s what I’ve seen more than anything, but it’s a comfort battle. The softer the material the easier it tears. Look at LL’s outfitting, it’ll last forever, but whenever I paddle one it rubs my skin raw, through a shirt, and after a full day in one I have a scab on my lower back from it. I think the sweet spot is that the outfitting fails as the boat generally does. So if 3-5 years of use is about the lifespan of the hull , that’s when the outfitting should fail. That being said, there’s dagger boats on the river from 10-15 years ago, but outfitting that last that long would hurt! It’s a balance. I hate to hear your wearing a hole through it, but would you rather replace it or be uncomfortable on the river. There’s always room for improvement though and we are always looking for ideas and places to improve, ie a step out pillar in a slice boat 🤯
Hey Fritz i see you had the axiom yeah that had the play seat set up and had some issues with hip pad attachments failure and seat moving around and seat pucks popping out while paddling the newer dagger outfitting has got drastically better I do know that and if you purchase the boats new dagger always been good at replacing anything that fails on the outfitting
Nothing major but for the money you want the best quality finish. One of my friends worked there until recently. They have a very old oven which apparently causes problems with colours merging and imperfections during the moulding process. We had issues with a rewind recently with warping in the tail. It was all sorted and customer service through the shop was good. I got the impression that they are doing the best they can with the equipment they have. I think I will be ordering one but I am in no rush.
What are your thoughts on the Super Novas plastic, those edges do look well chewed up easily, and the plastic does feel quite soft on my Nova..say in comparison to my previous Pyranha Ozone plastic which felt much stiffer??
No I have not I was supposed to get a loki and my buddy never brought it so have not had a chance to compare it’s on my video list it’s just getting a loki

Any word on release date for the Nova? I see the SuperNova on Dagger’s website, but not the Nova. I hadn’t heard anything ab different release dates, but maybe that’s what is happening. 🤔
Neither are really designed for flats the older style boats did that very well because of the low knee volume and lack of rocker don’t get me wrong I can do it I’m both fairly easy but not even close to like a xxx or ultrafuge types

No I did a dagger one and did not see the reason to do a video on this just for the foam the seat back band and thigh hooks are the same

What’s the durability complaint? Never had a single outfitting bit fail in 12 years of paddling dagger boats.

Yes it’s a pretty aggressive full slice the edges do wear down but I have not heard of any cracking and agreed pyr seems like it’s plastic is harder
