    That is a great welder. The modern units with inverters and variable parameters are a world away from the big old transformer welders I learned on as an apprentice!

      I noticed when watching it back when editing the amperage is changing to stabilise it. I highlighted that in the video. Bit of a surprise, the welder is very capable.

      Land Rover Toolbox Videos yes,I noticed that too. The arc force is following the arc and keeping it beautifully stable. There is some very clever electronics going on in there. Arc welders have changed so much. No more big transformer with a few switches selecting output! The power that comes out of a tiny shoe box sized unit is amazing. As is welding thick material from a domestic supply.

      I best not get too carried away with off road mods at the moment. To beef it all up is going to cost a fortune with the internals.

    Do you think it is necessary to put the brace on he bottom sides?

    I have a series 2a with a suspected bent front axle... ie the front nearside wheel is sloping out towards the top (toeing out) can this be adjusted I have already changed the swivel pin on that side which was worn but it has made no difference to wheel alignment. Some one has welded a load of trussing to the front axle (lower only no trussing above I suspect distortion) in the past way before my purchase this may have distorted it perhaps??? I am thinking the flange plate on the end of the axle housing may be pie cut almost off and re-welded straight any thoughts any body?
    Further to this note I may just cut off the lower truss and see if she comes straight perhaps?

    Hi Chris!
    I need to replace my tie rod brackets on my Salisbury axle, have ordered the ones from yrm,
    Will a gasless mig with flux core wire be up to the job?
    Thanks!
    Aaron

    Instead of trying to paint inside the trusses, get some Bilt Hamber Dynax S-50 in aerosol form. They come in a very big can, with a cavity injection lance and it outperforms pretty much every other cavity/underbody wax there is, even dinitrol which is widely regarded as the (or one of the) best.
    Great video as usual though, thanks for posting up - it's one of the less seen mods for landies :)

    Hello me again I need help/ advice for my 90 🙈😖 I am ment to be looking at a gearbox tomorrow as mine is having some problems but I have just lost drive about an hour ago so now it has gone from bad to stuck 😂... I have a 200tdi disco engine with an Lt77 gearbox I have a strong feeling the splines are kaput 😖 so I am stuck are all input gears the same for the lt77? As I'm in need of parts quick hope some one help me out thanks in advance

      Hi Benn. .....check that the splines have indeed gone ... which means taking the inspection plate off and looking into the spline area. Video here th-cam.com/video/7vFPc5ZSRKg/w-d-xo.html
      Other issue that may be a cause of loss of drive is a worn out drive flange on one of the hubs.

      Oh and what grease will I need for the gear or is it just standard?

    • @trailerfitter2
      @trailerfitter2  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      you could use graphogen to put it together but EP oil is okay. That's me thinking you are talking about grease when assembling.

    • @bennpow7288
      @bennpow7288 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes just for assembly Ok tops thanks for the advice il go pick some up oh and thanks for the mention in the video 🙂 glad I could be some kind of assistance

    you might like to build yourself a welding machine trolley instead of placing the welder on that chair..!
