It's me, I'm the guy who demands water levels, 9/10 times I love them, yes they're slow and kinda clunky, but they usually have the _best_ level designs of the whole game.

SMB Wonder actually got rid of the character-specific gameplay traits, so they all play the same (besides Yoshi & Nabbit, who are the easy characters).
Also, they do seem to have taken lots of different inspirations from Mario Maker level-making trends. Racing an enemy, using an enemy's shell as a short timer, etc etc.
