On behalf of all sound guys everywhere (yes, that has been one of my many labels) I appreciate this recognition. No one really notices how much crap the sound guy takes from the bands, and the friggin' crowd for that matter. Nothing like have an empty slider just for when someone says to turn up the bass, or the guitar is too loud.
Met him at the strip club Saturday night. Big spender! Had to leave at 12, but he led a prayer and we were halfway there. Whoa. We were livin’..

4:58 is such a good illustration of this. It’s a tricky part of the song, Gerald overshoots his own note in a calculated moment of chaos (my favorite moment of the song). Even Gerald has trouble recreating this his life shows.
Alex nails the intensity and key here perfectly, I think I like it more than the original.

@@yourdaddy9622yes! Definitely heard some of the used in there. One of the only bands to make it out of the religious cesspool that is Utah. They were one of my biggest inspirations when I started a band and doing shows.

There was a point in time where I'd constantly be surprised at how good the stuff was that Alex would put out. He's been so fucking consistent that it's never a surprise anymore when it's an instant banger. It's just expected now.

This was my first time watching one of Alex’s videos and I thought it was great, the writing was good and drew me in, the mix was phenomenal on the song. And after seeing MCR live recently this cover sounded so so so very good. Alex deserves tall the subs!

I’m working on building out my own performance/practice space, and hope to make content like this one day, so happy to see someone taking the same ideas I’ve had “why don’t multiinstrumentalists like us just record more tributes to our favorite music? We get practice and content we’re truly proud of, and would watch ourselves, and we bring in likeminded fans who might actually be interested in our original stuff?” It’s a win win, and now there’s an extra win on top-inspiring eachother to keep pushing! You created an opportunity for yourself that the industry might have never given you. Hope that “record deal” works out for you guys!

I think its more an issue of mixing, the guitars and drums sound really flat like theres no punch to them. They sound like theyre behind the vocals rather than sharing the space with the vocals but im listening on mobile with a Bluetooth speaker so maybe im not hearing the fullness of the sound??? Idk
It's definitely heavier than the original though.

7:45 - Real talk, I'm a biochemist. My life plan has always been to own bar in my retirement. I know how to make pretty much any alcohol, and I like bars mostly for the conversation. When that day comes, there will be a small sign near the entrance, with the words Cootie Hut written on it. Only I and whichever tiny minority both read this and eventually travel to said bar, or have read this message and are thus lead to speculate on whether or not said bar exists. As legitimate a concern as this may be, we can all agree that the level of mild discomfiture experienced by my guests would be more than outweighed by my pleasure at enjoying it, and knowing someone else out there does too.

A local band from where I’m from actually had a pretty good cover of this song. They’re called Chasing Safety, they actually did pretty well for themselves, had a few albums out and toured the country a bit!

Hey Alex, would you say that this was one of the tougher vocals of any of the songs you've covered on this channel? I always thought Gerard was a solid vocalist and you definitely rose to the occasion.
