Great to hear you enjoy the video's , keep positive! When you beat this awful disease, you get out in the great outdoors and enjoy life! Send me best wishes. Mark.
My mum is 27 years since her diagnosis, she's still going strong. I know it's corny, but a positive attitude is sooooooo important. The hardest part for my mum ? She was told after her 5 year check up, you're done here, don't come back ! (paraphrasing) as that felt she had nothing to fight anymore. So she turned back to the hospice/hospital and offers her self to help others. You got this girl !
As usual inspirational, I am 70 years old now and carrying a weekends gear on my back is not so easy. Many years ago I used to go backpacking with a friend and we would do around 30 miles over a long weekend, sometimes not even using a tent, just unroll our sleeping bags on the edge of a field (if the weather was good). Some of the best times were August bank Holiday weekend when the weather had come to the point of lovely warm days but overnight the temperature dropped and you would wake as dawn was breaking, and facing the east put some water on for a brew and sit looking over the fields covered in 12-15 inches of mist and watch the sun rising and burning off the mist and feeling the warmth of the sun on your face. Never to be forgotten days. Thank you for reminding me of what I have enjoyed and more that I have missed.
Hi! Your adventures sound so amazing, I'm so glad you got to experience those things, there's nothing like it is there. I try to do what I can while my body will let me, I'm so grateful for all it does for me and the places it takes me 💚 hope you still get to enjoy nature in whichever capacity that you're able. Thanks for watching my lil video :)
@@bobhead6243 It seems we have a lot in common, I also have c.o.p.d, high blood pressure and increasing arthritis. It is sometimes harder to carry a shopping bag home than it was to carry 30-40lb on your back up and down hills for several days, but my friend look at the memories we have, how many people nowadays enjoy what we did, wonderful times. Keep strong buddy, you've had some good times by the sound it as I have, they are some of those experiences we will never forget.
Hello from the United States. I so enjoy watching your videos...they bring me joy! You have very kind eyes and such a gentle voice, I could watch for hours. Your country is so beautiful there, not like many of the places here where people don't care about preserving the natural beauty of the forests. Take care of yourself, be safe, and please keep making your wonderful videos. I am disabled now and not able to get out there so I go on these wonderful trips through you.
Hello from UK! Ahh thanks I'm so glad you enjoy them, I love to make them :) I actually live in the SE of England, and a lot of people don't care so much about the suburban forests around here either unfortunately, rubbish everywhere in most places, fly tipping too. This was filmed in North Wales where the majority are respectful of the wild places 💚🌿 hope you're having a lovely weekend!
Fellow floppy person here! I really love your videos, and it's encouraging to see another hypermobile human adventuring into the wild. Would you please do a more detailed video sometime on how you take care of your body while backpacking? The fear of injuring myself is one of the biggest things that keeps me from doing more than day hikes or car camping.
I stumbled across your channel a few days ago and found it a very nice escape since I can’t go far into nature anymore. Didn’t expect to hear that you also have EDS! Thank you for sharing these moments
What I like most about your videos is the relaxed style. It makes it feel more realistic and genuine. I'm unfortunately not much of a camper guy myself but I feel like I'm getting more and more motivated after each video.
Thank you! :D Aw yeh sleeping wild has done good things for me, helped me heal from a lot of stuff and, well it's just so very beautiful and makes me feel so very alive 😍 would definitely recommend
Watch more WildBeare videos, they are so inspiring. As a long time camper myself up until a few years ago on both organised family sites and rough/wild trips they can be soooo enjoyable. Keep watching her videos and find the motivation to try it, I am sure you will not regret it, in the right circumstances it will create lifetime experiences that you will never forget. Thank you Claire for your marvellous videos.
Besides the great quality and content of your videos - which we all appreciate - know too that we also appreciate how much extra equipment you're hauling with you to make these videos possible. I chuckle a bit at a review of Durston ultralight tent coupled with having to carry so much extra video (and drone) equipment! Thanks for doing it so that we don't have to!
I always test out my equipment at home before taking it on the trail. A few of the things I've encountered : - a new tent with 3 zipper slides (instead of 2). The 3rd slide prevented the zipper from functioning properly. I had to cut it off before the trip. - a stove where the fuel canisters didn't fit. I had to "modify" the stove with a file to make the canisters fit. (it was easier than returning the stove to the store). - it took hours to figure out the correct strap adjustments for my new pack.
I have just started watching your videos there great.i haven't been camping in years but i would love to get back into it. Thank you so much for your inspiration.
That's a nice touch Claire by including the camera settings for your great night shot's as it gives us budding photographers a good starting point to go and try it ourselves : )
Forest green would be amazing 💚 I think I heard that the DCF is difficult to dye dark colours. I thought Zpacks used to make a camo DCF tent but I can't find anything camo on their site either which is a shame
@@WildBeare Yes, DCF is a difficult material to dye. This seems to be a common concern with wild campers, at least in the UK. I contacted the company recently on this particular point and got a comprehensive reply from Dan the Man - he is every bit as helpful as others have said! In short, he recognises that this is a thing, is actively working on ways of getting the material a stealthier colour and hopes to have some improvements on the market soon. Lovely views of land and sky, missing curled up in your sleeping bag is the transistor radio. I loved listening to pop music in the sixties, now its radio 3 or 4, i have always taken a radio when i have been camping, listen to the shipping forecast in a tent in the middle of nowhere, does it for me.
Amazing light set up, perhaps for calmer and milder weather. As always you dared test the elements, you are a courageous little package of fun to watch, thank you so much.
Amazing cinematography and editing skills combined with creativity and a subtle sense of humor..........Wonderful combination.......Camera likes you too....Lovely time spent when I view your videos......
Top tip....... If you roll the door up tighter so it leaves no flappy bit, it will hold. In even stronger wind, on the non-pro version, I'll peg out the loop on the bottom of the door flap, take the clip off that connects the inner to the fly beside the door tie and roll up the door and inner, take the clip and fasten it to the tie off point that's nearest the magnet.
Ooh interesting! Thanks for this, I'm struggling to visualize exactly what you mean but I will have a play next time I'm out with it see if I can get it tighter :)
@@WildBeare Yeah, maybe not the greatest description. It seems clear in my head but not so easy to put into a servicable sentence?! As always Claire, happy to see a new video of you hit my screen! The night shots with the camera settings was great. Landscape photographer myself, I'm always looking to see how others produce their works. Thanks. Keep up the great videos, it's SPRING! Enjoy all your adventures, and thanks for taking us along. We'll continue watching over your shoulder from Port Angeles, WA. USA! "Across the pond", as you once said. Take care, be safe!
Nice trip, Claire. Nice new tent for warmer weather. You're correct, stake the sides down closer to the ground, it will cut out a lot of the breeze. God bless and keep enjoying life.
Ditch the aquarium thermometer! Try one of these, it allows you to see what the temperature drops to throughout the night, great little device, and a bargain price 😃
I loved watching this, I havent camped for years and now I am really in the mood to go try again this year and wow those photos you took were beautiful 🙂
I have the non Pro version and needed to use it for first time when caught short of making it to a hut. -6oC and 2 inches of snow overnight - tent was perfect. Used it a few more times and then brought the Pro version. Both essentially the same with the Pro being much lighter. Had condensation one night, but 10min in the sun during morning stop sorted that out. Be very careful with cooking and keep flame well away from vestibule.
I have a little cottage hidden in the woods here in Hungary, but thanks to your wonderful trip ideas, Claire, I dug out my childhood tent to sleep in that this year, instead :) I love that forest with all those animals :) Deers, foxes, rabbits, pheasants, owls, eagles, whatever you want to see :) I would like to visit your camping places once I get some free time :)
Hello! I recently, today actually, subscribed and wanted to say, you are as intelligent as you are adorable. I felt very comfortable watching your content, no distractions or creepy moments. You seem to be quite genuine and have a refreshing vibe. Thank you for posting and I will now catch up on your previous videos so that I will be in "the loop"...😊
Well, that was a very pleasant campout! I am happy that you were so pleased with the tent and consequently, pleased with your rest. I have to say, that I would prefer the double layer aspect of your Hilly (or my North Face) tent; I am fully aware that you are the backpacker and I am the car camper. It is still on my Bucket List to do some backpacking--I'm not dead yet! Hahahahaha! Thank you again for all of your great vidies! The bring such great peace to my life! God bless you, Claire! 🥰❤
Another great video. Thank you so much. Your cinematography just gets better and better. That's a great little tent but it must let heaps of light in in that colour
WildBeare your videos are my favorites. Your editing is superb. Vids are so inviting, warm & cozy. I watch them then I'm off to dreamland. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Stay beautiful WildBeare.
This tent could be the one for helping with the weight- so far so good , nice views as usual- you know how to find them - this is another win! . Very sleepy right now but had to watch , gnite❤
My sister just gave me one of those. I've been looking at ground sheets - plain old polyethylene looks about the best. I never close a tent all up. You want the gap for ventilation - more sleeping bag if you're cold. Lovely photography as always.
From a fellow floppy, hello!!! From Idaho USA! You would absolutely love hiking here! I wish I could, but alas I’m just too floppy , including my heart. Plus my Dysautonomia/Hyperadrengic POTS and Mast Cell activation disorder all have ganged up against me. Throw my age into it (51! 😮) and I am off the hiking trail. I will live vicariously through you! So inspirational to see a fellow floppy out there doing it! I really miss camping and being out under the stars. I’m allergic to fire smoke due to the mast so I can’t go to camping sites where everyone will be burning one. I’m trying to figure out how to get back out there because my spirit absolutely YEARNS for it!!!! Thank you for taking me along with you so I can see the stars.❤❤❤ much love to you! I cannot express how much I love watching your adventures. I love your sweet spirit so much!!!❤❤❤❤
Love my lightweight tent .. for three seasons. Come winter we all definitely need something more substantial - but a three season, ultralight tent is pretty darn good!!!
You are so inspirational Claire. I have been feeling down about my less than a marathon tramper adventure fitness but now I realise my 9yr old and I going at our own pace and having our own great time is the only standard we need to get to! Loving seeing all your tents going back through your videos helping me narrow down the specs I want to look for, though the options are different as I’m in New Zealand. 😊
I just got one of these and am going to try it out in a week and a half. Good to know to shorten the tie down points to keep the wind out. Love your channel and your energy.
Hi Claire, thank you sharing the beautiful place you camped. Love the wild ones that seem to show up and watch over you. Have you tried lowering your hiking poles a bit and then peg it down to see if the sides will get closer to the ground. I enjoyed the music you had for this video. Glad to see you back out and enjoying the beautiful countryside. Take care and be safe.
Nice spot Claire, you always find good sites to set up. Lightweight DCF tent is like a tarp tent. Thank you for sharing-best to you, take care & stay well.
Got a second hand DCF tent over ten years ago. Total game changer. Have taken it everywhere. Last year the DCF started to delaminate and tear at the high-tension corner stake-outs where the reinforcement patches joined the thin DCF fly. I immediately ordered a replacement form the same manufacturer to be shipped to a friend in the US traveling over to see me in Europe. That is as much a product endorsement as I could give. This spring, I've also repaired the old DCF tent using spinnaker repair tape (waterproof ripstop silnylon with strong adhesive on one side) for light use - single night lowland use.
Canadian company Integral Designs made the Sil-Tarp years ago. This looks like a direct descendant. Terrific piece of gear, light, utterly indestructible, wind and water proof. No floor….i use a Therma-Rest backpack cot with mine, just to get off the ground.
8:13 thanks for the little “easter egg” in the CC 😂 that goat never been loved more probably. And thanks again for including a proper CC insrad of the automatic one, really appreciate it ❤ always enjoy watching these, greetings from another “zebra” 🦓
I could never sleep in a tent like that in my neck of the woods we have fire ants, scorpions, poison snakes, all sorts of things that will make you miserable. Tents are now coming with flaps for A/C you are quite lucky to be able to stay and hike such beautiful places. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, God bless you in your travels.
Yehh we have it real easy over here in the UK, not much trying to kill us at all. I take it for granted actually, I can't imagine having all those things to contend with! Thank you for watching :) 💚
@@byteme9718 Not to mention mice, which can chew through the mesh of your tent, and burrow into your expensive sleeping bag - happened to me when I left my tent out for a couple of days to test its waterproofness.
@@BadgerBotherer1 I remember the time in India when a mosquito chewed off one of my legs after it got into my tent. It was big and orange and had black stripes.
Your pain au chocolat looked just about as crumpled as the tent fabric! Nice size vestibules but a really narrow sleeping area, but I can see the attraction with the weight. It'd be interesting to throw some real weather at it. Another really excellent video, Claire. I can't remember the end of March being so nice.
Once again, thanks for sharing your challenge with nature. Always educational. Cheers to your strength of character and determined spirit. Wishing you safe journeys and good fortune. Happy Trails!
Thank you, as always, for brightening my (already!) bright days. I work out to enable me to hike again, and experience the wild, lovely world! ( I'm good for about 25 miles a week, but in short bits....) ancient sports injuries stop by every day to say Hi!.... A joy, dear wonderful personage! Be careful, be well, have a blast. Us geezers developed a plan that works really well. This may be the last time you walk up that hill. This may be the last pear that you will ever enjoy.... You all get the point! So, tomorrow: go walk. If it's raining? Umbrella. Chilly? Sweater. Flooding: boots. Hungry: pear. Pear juice on your chin? Bonus life. Have an apple.....
Love my Pro 2. Not sure if the Pro 1 has them, but down where the tip of your trekking pole goes, there are two elastic loops for the tips to go into. These help keep the floor in place. You can also tilt your pole out a bit to tighten up the floor.

I stumbled on your channel, and not by click bait which I'm glad. Your testing gear with honest opinions and providing valuable info.
Thank you 🙏
Nice trip, Claire. Nice new tent for warmer weather. You're correct, stake the sides down closer to the ground, it will cut out a lot of the breeze.
God bless and keep enjoying life.
It was so nice to see you out and about without getting drenched in rain and blown away from wind. BTW love the tent. Hello from Florida USA 🌴
Interesting tent material, it looks and sound like it should rip at any moment but it seemed fine in the wind. SO light too...
I absolutely love watching your videos. I wish I could camp like you do. Enjoying watching your adventures and please never stop haha
That was a great wee video 😊 really fascinated by your lightweight tent. 😎
I like your tent, I like the scenery, I like your narration, and I like the music! Keep making more videos for us. You are awesome!
I have a little cottage hidden in the woods here in Hungary, but thanks to your wonderful trip ideas, Claire, I dug out my childhood tent to sleep in that this year, instead :)
I love that forest with all those animals :)
Deers, foxes, rabbits, pheasants, owls, eagles, whatever you want to see :)
I would like to visit your camping places once I get some free time :)
So jealous, Wish I could travel and do these types of camps. They look awesome and you film them so well, Thank you.
Thank you from beautiful sunny Hertfordshire" be seeing you in the beauty still to come..
I love how you pop in and out of your awesome videos,if only it was that easy going to or from camping lol 🤘🏻😃🤘🏻
Stay beautiful WildBeare.
lovely looking tent, taking my kids up around foel fras area soon but in an oex, big heavy but cant wait, your vids defo help inspire
Always love the "pop" at the end of your vids. Cheers from 🇨🇦
Nice tent, looks like the one that Liam Outdoors uses. If they made an olive green one I'd be tempted.
This tent could be the one for helping with the weight- so far so good , nice views as usual- you know how to find them - this is another win! . Very sleepy right now but had to watch , gnite❤
OMG Hi floppy joint friend! I've just found your channel and you're inspiring me to get back out there and explore.
My sister just gave me one of those. I've been looking at ground sheets - plain old polyethylene looks about the best. I never close a tent all up. You want the gap for ventilation - more sleeping bag if you're cold. Lovely photography as always.
If you're still looking for a ground sheet/sleep pad, I can recommend the FDF sleep pad. Varusteleka sells it, for example. It's so simple yet genius.
Beautiful night sky photography.. i really must give it a go (thanks for camera settings to try)
I do love a content tent :)
Hi Claire love 💕 your tent ⛺️ its Awesome Amazing the Scenery is Just Gorgeous Beautiful Awesome Amazing 😊
Hey Beare. 👋 Just love every vid you post. Brings some joy and fun into our lives every time. 🤗 my fav yt channel. 🙃
Came home from work in a foul mood . Just watched this video a feel so much calmer thank you for what you do
Ahh glad to help, hope today is a better one :) thanks for watching my lil vid
You are so inspirational Claire. I have been feeling down about my less than a marathon tramper adventure fitness but now I realise my 9yr old and I going at our own pace and having our own great time is the only standard we need to get to! Loving seeing all your tents going back through your videos helping me narrow down the specs I want to look for, though the options are different as I’m in New Zealand. 😊
I just got one of these and am going to try it out in a week and a half. Good to know to shorten the tie down points to keep the wind out. Love your channel and your energy.
That night sky looked stunningly beautiful.
Great review of the tent, thank you ❤
Awesome video as always. Thanks for sharing
Nice views of Taurus and Orion …Have fun stay safe.
I could sit out all night and look at the stars ....some of the best thing's in life are free.... god bless you❤
Canadian company Integral Designs made the Sil-Tarp years ago.
And thanks again for including a proper CC insrad of the automatic one, really appreciate it ❤ always enjoy watching these, greetings from another “zebra” 🦓
where I live, there would be a lot of critters coming in that bottom gap, and some may not be friendly. nice video with great landscape
@@WildBeare "Yehh we have it real easy over here in the UK, not much trying to kill us at all." Except the government!🙄
Luckily in the UK we only have wolves, wild boar, bears and the odd elephant any of which can ruin your day.
Absolutely gorgeous!!!
Nice pitch to.....
The wind would be like home, the mountains and the stars were beautiful.. I always feel like I can do anything when I watch you! 😊
Great tent!! 2 vestibules, great for gear protection. Love the mesh, no slimy slugs to get on you. Have a great week…..til next time ⛺️
Awesome Video. Beautiful Scenery. Thanks for making this Cool Review. Cheers from Central South Carolina.
Some stars? Crickey! That's amazing.
Thanks Claire would be a great tent in a green or brown 👍
Once again, thanks for sharing your challenge with nature. Always educational. Cheers to your strength of character and determined spirit. Wishing you safe journeys and good fortune. Happy Trails!
Wonderful video Claire Beare , thoroughly enjoyed, Be Well my Friend .🙂
The "Ahoy Thar Matey" scared the begeezus out of me! Well played.
😄
I thought pirates were on a hiking trip & jumped out of nowhere. 😂
Me too 😂😂
I thought I was hearing weird sounds.
Make Sail ⛵Mr Christian
Good first pitch! The perfect pitch on these tents starts with a flat spot and a perfect rectangle.
Finding your channel recently has been the best thing to happen in a long time!! ❤️
Ahh yay thanks, welcome to my lil channel :D 👋
@@WildBeare ❤️
Great video, some stunning photos as well. 👍🏼
Your accent is great. Makes me smile. Great videos ever time!
Hello to the Beautiful and Quite Brave Lady. I have watch many of your camping videos and as an American who camped often in my youth, I am now 83 years, I still heard sounds and felt that something or someone was near my tent these 60 + years on. I hope that you will always be safe from the evil things that linger in the nightness. Be careful and take care. J. Hugh Craft
Always pitch your tent in the most windswept baren spot,,door facing the wind ,,and no fire friends,,yumm 😊😊
That light weight tent comes with a pretty heavy cost huh. Great little getaway Claire, thank you once again for sharing it with us all.
