    Found your channel through the S30 restoration group on FB and now I'm looking forward to going through your build while i work on my 240. Currently cleaning rust scale of the roof frame before working on my donor roof skin.

    I saw you were home today and smoke rolling out of the stove pipe in the garage. Thought about stopping in, but didn't want to be the reason for the next video taking longer. Keep up the great work!

    Nice job dude I like the way you just didn't overlap the tunnel like most do. Looking forward to more videos. Keep up the good work from 🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮

      Thanks! I'd rather spend extra time and make it as good as I personally can rather than get it done a bit quicker.

      @@BLOKgarage thanks!! It's a chore. Never done videos never built a car. I know a little bit about a lot of things. Decided to start a channel with content to document the success or failure of this jswap mini van madness. I was inspired by the rotisserie you were making also.

    1st comment! Love the progress next time take the seat runners off and use them to help keep the distance correct. I found with those green panels, on my 510, they are never perfect. I've had to massage them a bit. At least your making progress. That's what counts. Keep it up!

      Good call about taking the sliders off. Didn't even think of that. I'll use that on the drivers side.

      @@BLOKgarage I'm learning along side you. I'm doing a 510, as I've mentioned before. I've learned to just "k.i.s.s." the sheet metal screws, and square panel clamps have saved my ass several times. Tbh, I've also had to modify a couple of those green panels to fit just right. No biggie though. Keep it up!

    seeing those seat mounts makes me wonder if they are meant to be exactly the same positioning as the driver's side? i know that the floorpan shapes and the leg room and such is different from driver to passenger side in these S30s, but maybe that also means the seat mounts are asymmetrical too?

    • @BLOKgarage
      @BLOKgarage  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe I got them back in the OEM locations, or close to it. To be honest, I wish I hadn't done them at all yet. I think I would have been better off making custom mounts once i figure out what seats I want.

    Great videos. I've got a 77 280z and need to replace the floor pans/rails. I don't have a rotisserie and have it up on blocks. I'm a little anxious about the pan/rails replacement even though I'll be doing one side at a time. A little afraid that when I take the floor out it could affect the alignment of the panel. You think I'll be Okay as long as I do one side at a time? Thanks.

      You definitely watch to add bracing. The big X that I added between the a-pillars/cowl and rear strut towers area a good start. Most of the strength in these cars is in the rockers so it's not a huge deal to cut out one floor pan/rail if you keep everything else in tact.
      It's good to do them on the floor as opposed to a rotisserie anyway. You want to support the weight of the car on the rockers, not all the way at the end of the car.
      The door bars that I added are also a good idea. You can't brace it too much.

    Can I use my lincoln mig welder 140 to weld floor pans and what is the best diameter mig wire to use ? THANKS !

    • @BLOKgarage
      @BLOKgarage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I'm not familiar with that welder specifically but looking at it, it should be fine. You don't need much heat to weld sheet metal anyway.
      I'm using .030 wire as that's what I already. I've read that .023 wire works best for sheet metal but haven't tried it myself.
