- It’s 1986. You’re sitting eagerly in front of the television in your Max Reebo pajamas, sneaking a bowl of C3P0s because you didn’t finish your TV dinner and you’re still hungry. Tonight is a big night and you need the energy. After Webster is over, a new Star Wars show is premiering. Book of Boba Fett was okay, but after Return of the Jedi, you only want one thing: more space magic. Your Dad walks in and tries to change it to The A-Team, but you will not be deterred. You tell him a new show is starting and it’s all about hot ladies who kick ass. You easily win him over. It’s almost time now.

I love the concept of "What if live action Star Wars had continued in the 80's after Return of the Jedi" (as seen with Boba Fett and Ahsoka here). This just popped into my head, it's not really the same as what you do, but what if the actual 80's Star Wars TV shows (the live action Ewok specials and the animated Ewok and Droids cartoons) came out in the present day? I mean, us 80's kids all wanted more Star Wars after "Return of the Jedi" ended, and what we got was...."Ewoks".....I would've liked to have had some live action "Boba Fett" back then.

To be fair Ahsoka was trying to do the opposite. She was trying to prevent Thrawns return.
"May or may not" - that is exactly this series. Eight episodes, and all that happened is that the protagonists changed places. Now they are standing there, going to do what? Wait for next year. Or the year after.
As a child of the 80s, I can attest this is one of the greatest openings to a show ever.

As I was born in 1959, I can really appreciate this and its 80's vibe. Funny, at the time it all seems so natural. Then decades later you look back at old shows, or something like this and I just have to laugh. Well done!
But, it was better, somehow. The intentions of the creators were purer, and true to what they were doing. Now, they are activists first, and only production staff by necessity, second to the TRUE MISSION. Narcissism, arrogance, nepotism, pride, heathen, gag, puke, vomit!

The higher the concept the harder they tried to sell it. There was no "agenda" other than to make an entertaining show. A skill sorely missed in today's Hollywood.

@@The_child-catcher It’s definitely not something that would be easy to adapt. Unless they wanted to extend the dance fight meme and have it introduced as the counter to the “new thing” of stare down. But ultimately if they got even 10 minutes of content out of it I’d be blown away.

@@whitebeardskydaddy6756 completely agree, she is very obviously competent in other roles. I will say her lightsaber work, or lack thereof, is partially on her. The obvious discrepancy between her other work, and this show must be attributed to other factors, and frankly we've seen filoni's previous work and the effort a checked out favreau brings and they're obvious candidates for the suck that ashoka generates
This is AMAZING. I was able to hold it together somehow until hera's introduction. It was a lost cause after that. So on point.

To be more specific, I mean the scene where Thrawn is told that they are ready to leave to wich he replies that getting the Jedi on board is problematic and that they need more time wich of course results in Jedi getting on board.

This would make such a perfect 80's show. In the 80's, things didn't have to make sense; they just had to be out of the box and fun.
Back when there was passion and care, they made do and treated franchises like fine china instead of a cash cow.
At least with 80s shows every episode had a beginning, middle and end. Instead of the real Ahsoka which has beginning .... beginning .... beginning ... for eff's sake, will anything of consquence please happen!!! .... beginning ....

The end with the ship blasting off on the last note was perfect and brought back memories of other shows that did that in the 90's

I used to watch this every Friday night when I was in middle school back in "81". It came on after Dukes of Hazard, and right before Miami Vice.

We used to remember actors names because of intros like this. I vote we bring this back to give more recognition to the actors and not just the characters.
Except all the actors these days aren't worthy of the recognition.
Industry giants create properties they own rather then movie stars. They want the characters/franchise to be the stars, not the actors.
There are not many real stars anymore that put fans in the stands just by name recognition except the likes of Tom Cruise.
we have the internet now, so we can look it up if we so choose, and many like myself will skip that intro after the first time, unless they make it interesting like Weeds and Game of Thrones
We remembered their names because they were good. We still remember the names of the good actors, they are just far too few of them.
In my opinion, it works just as well if the names are shown in the credits at the end. The only condition for this is that the credits need to have a good design and/or soundtrack. If they have that, I will always watch them until the end and learn the names of the actors and actresses.
