Whats wrong with you guys? Why you made it so boring? Yes, im talking about season 2. Start working on season 3 and release it as soon as possible instead of sharing clips of previous seasons.
You think you can make $ by giving us a full season on talking and talking.Didn’t you learn from GOT??
This is cartoonish level writing quality, fire Sara Hess and recast sharako lohar
Bring a twist in season 3. Make a duel between vermithor and vhagar, which would give goosebumps to the audience. Then let that beast be killed by deamon riding craxes in some other fight
Was this scene really worthy of ruining Alicent and Aemond's characters and their relationship?

@GiveonKing Is he, though? He went off on Aegon for hanging rat catchers outside the city walls after his son and heir was beheaded in his sleep to send a message because it makes them "look bad", but a few weeks ago he hung nobles outside the castle walls because they refused to defect to the Greens to send a message. Not very consistant there.

@@adarnia You call it toxic complaints, we call it media literacy
LOL Alicent doesn't think Aegon's a good king and she wants to prevent the deaths of thousands. Her agreeing to Aegon's execution makes a lot of sense if she really prioritises the needs of the many over the needs of the few. Ever since she learned that Viserys had not meant for Aegon to sit the throne it's been increasingly clear that she's been asking herself if all this violence is worth it to keep that incompetent idiot on the throne and it clearly isn't.
Alicent agreeing to Aegon's public execution is one of the most insane choices the writers could have made. Considering he is a cripple, a half dead corpse who lost his son and his dragon and he is going through the worst time in his life where he needs her the most and she just gives up on him. Considering when she forced him on the throne he didn't want.
I feel like Alicent inviting her to join her in her lifetime of vacation is insane xD
Not only that but she gives up Aemond, Cole, Gwayne and Daeron in the same swing. Does this fool really thinks she calls the shots and that those sworn to the Greens won't fight on in Aemond and Daeron's name?
@@AvalarsHas it crossed Alicent's mind that those sons that came from her.. if there is any meaning to it.. she carried those boys for nine months.. went through the labour.. and I don't care if they are monsters but watching your sons die one by one.. how is she gonna live with that?
I agree but Alicent is being delusional in thinking that Aegon will simply be allowed to live. As long as he is alive, there will always be a challenge. Rhaenyra knows that Aegon has to die to win the war and the Iron Throne and has to effectively force Alicent to agree with her.

@@btstrasharmyexo-lbaekiesha2776
I don't think so. I'm an Alicent fan and I'm very well aware of her the fact that all characters personalities and thinking change, especially during a time where things are escalating very quickly. Alicent fell to an option of choices she never wanted to begin with. Obviously Alicent would never sell out Aegon, but she can't promote a war and have her only innocent daughter and Daeron be part of it. If she told Rhaenyra "No", people would call her out for justifying a war. If she told Rhaenyra "Yes", people would call her out for lack of motherhood she has for her children. Alicent character was always about being obedient to the men around her to earn power and use that power for good. When that power was taken away thanks to her "son" Aemond, she realized there's no way she can influence anybody and the only option left is to simply escape or be dragged into war with her daughter and family. Alicent made the logical choice and I don't think blaming her is what the writers wanted you to do.
Surprised writers didn't make them makeout
That's for Season 3

It gladdens my heart that some of us have some braincells still left to us.
A) she might no longer think the Greens can win, B) she doesn't think Aegon's a good king, C) she no longer thinks he should have been crowned king in the first place and D) it's better that Aegon dies instead of thousands of innocents. That's why.

Septon Eustace, a witness to what followed, tells us that Queen Alicent attempted to treat with her stepdaughter. “Let us together summon a great council, as the Old King did in days of old,” said the Dowager Queen, “and lay the matter of succession before the lords of the realm.” But Queen Rhaenyra rejected the proposal with scorn. “Do you mistake me for Mushroom?” she asked. “We both know how this council would rule.” Then she bade her stepmother choose: yield or burn.

they want everyone to forget about this baby
It was hard to care cause aegon was the only one who cried or mourned him. Alicent literally said “ what happened to jahererys sucks but he dead I only care about my daughter” paraphrasing ofcoarse but literally the essence of what she meant.
In "forgetting" Jahaerys, Rhaenyra washes her hands off of the act (which isnt her doing anyway). So when she requests a son for a son, it means the debt hasnt been paid to her yet. At least that's how I interpreted it the first time. In saying "a son for a son", she removes accountability for what happened to jahaerys and requests the debt be paid/justice still be served.
@@KinstaKalat so she wants alicent to pay for aemond’s act? also in the show didn’t aemond try to stop vhagar from attacking arrax and luce?
this is just stupid writing that is totally biased towards the blacks and you can’t even deny it
@@dom9041543 honestly at that point aegon was the most interesting character
That was the most absurd scene in the whole series. Alicent was telling Aegon his whole life that he has to be king or Rhaenyra will put him to the sword. She forced the crown on his head when he clearly had no intrest in rulling, and now she sacrificed her son to go camping in the woods with Helaena. They ruined her character and made her a bipolar psychopath
Yes and make Rhaenyra say how history will paint her a villain. What is wrong with these writers. You see this is why writer strikes be happening because when y’all don’t pay them well they do not try 🙄
Alot of people know the source material from the books and it feels like it's controversy for the sake of controversy allowing the series to play out as it is - it's stupid, I feel bad for the actors that have to be the face of stupid writing.
Alicent was manipulated too, by Otto and Cole. Alicent only went along with the Greens plans cause she thought Aegon being king is what Viserys wanted. Until she saw her family suffering
@@MeleysTessarion I don't think the writers who think that a woman (who started everything and raised her sons in fear and hate btw) selling her sons, including the youngest who is innocent, brother, lover, father and all their allies to the enemy who will kill them is her redemption and liberation, deserve to be paid tbh
@@val-xz I knowww like you put Aegon through all this and now you’re calling the war “senseless”. It’s as if the writers don’t want this war to seem justified when it’s undoubtedly is. "Mother?" (They wanted Aegon to parade his dead son)

"Mummy?" (When he is on the verge of death)
I can't believe we had an entire season of Aegon just craving for Alicent's love and attention only for Alicent to agree to have him killed in the end. I can't imagine his reaction to this.
For Hess and Condal, Alicent is a innocent lady that would never contribute on her son's actions, because she's just a victim of Westeros's patriarchy 😭😭
and the show is portraying alicent betrayal as a good thing
And the mother of the year award goes to... Larys!
Now I want Aegon to (spoiler about Rhaenyra's ending) and make Alicent watch.

Absolutely absurd
This scene is so bad that it's the equivalent of Catelyn sneaking into King's Landing to meet Cersei and then offering Robb's life in exchange for Sansa being spared. And then going on to meet Tywin to help him orchestrate the Red Wedding as part of the deal.
You guys posting this thinking it’s an achievement in storytelling has actually finally convinced me I will not be returning for next season. Thanks for saving me from disappointment in two years
"You hear that little boy, your momma wants you dead" Did they turn Rhaenyra into Blood and Cheese? Lol
Let’s be real. They destroyed Alicent character. All for what? A friendship that these writers worship. Mind you this story is a war between families. These women have barely been in each other lives since they were kids. Ryan and sara need to be fired.
Destroyed her character??? Y’all just be saying anything on here. She is the best character on the show. And she stands out every scene. Her character has been a righteous one since episode 1. No lies or deceit. SHE DOES WHATS RIGHT.
Jaehaerys the forgotten "why must i suffer?"
Rhaenyra had kind of forgotten about Jaeherys' death.
Why should she care? Jaehaerys was part of the collateral she didn’t even know about.

not even the last season of GOT was that bad 😭
Rhaenera and Alicent forgot about Jaehaerys faster than Dani forgot about the Iron Fleet.
Rhaenyra didn't forget she just doesn't care and why would she 🤷♀
If she can kill every single member of Team Green she won't hesitate, luckily for her Alicent doesn't care enough to stop her
Alicent: "We'll surrender the city and the Iron Throne."
Rhaenyra: "And in return, I demand Aegon be publicly executed."
Alicent: "Those both sound like things for you."
Nice bargaining, Alicent. No demands to let Aegon be a ward of the crown or be sent to the Wall. Just chop chop. Mother of the Year, ladies and gentlemen.
Guys, don’t you get it? Blood and Cheese was an allegory for the brutal assassination of Alicent’s character
It's not a case of character assassination at all. You just want her to remain loyal to the Greens, even though in the show she has been given plenty of reasons not to be at this point. If Aegon's death prevents the deaths of thousands I believe the version of Alicent we've been shown does agree to Rhaenyra's demands. It's all moot anyway, since Aegon's gone. She just does not know that yet.
"You hear that, little boy? Your mama wants you dead." Aegon was Maelor all along.
@@Regenmacher175 it is a character assassination. This is simply not the Alicent we saw for the better part of Season 1. In S1, she believed that if Rhaenyra took the throne her sons and grandson(s) would be in mortal danger immediately, and this belief has been proven completely correct multiple times, first with the Driftmark incident, then with Blood and Cheese. I’m not mad that Alicent’s characterisation in the show is different than in the book, or that she abandoned TG per se, I’m mad that her character arc makes no sense
This was the most bizarre writing choice I have seen a writer make.
'A son for a son', mf did you forget about Jahaerys??
Alicent has been ruined, she is a traitor, agreed for the death of her sons when they didn't want the throne in the first place. She is running from a war that she started. Not even Cersei would sell her children off like this.
Cersei would die for her children first and is them against the entire world, i can respect that but this bi.tch Alicent is crazy
the writers seem to forget that Alicent is reason why aegon is in the iron throne. Did they also forget how protective Alicent to her sons? in season one she’s ready to hurt the blacks after that injuries aemond get. Did the writers forget that in line of succession if you kill aegon aemond and daeron is next in the throne? Gosh the writers turns it into Netflix version of woke fantasy. I got a feeling that this is a Season 7 writing a more spectacle than creating better story
Oh really? Really? Sarah Hess should not write any scene ever again if she cannot even remember that son for a son dept was already paid in first episode.
Destroying a character with one single scene wasn't easy but y'all did it congrats 🥳
Destroying a character with one line -Jamie Lannister
Destroying a character with one scene -alicent hightower

The most nonsensical scene ever. WTH were they thinking
I'm genuinely shocked at how awful this writing is.
Do they not realise Aemond would just inherit Aegon's claim if he dies, then Daeron and so on. Writers... People fight in Rhaenyra's son's name after she dies because her claim MOVED to him. You guys have the source material. What the heck is this???
They r just dumb and incompetent and nothing else

HOTD message is clear..
Women = peaceful = dont want war even at the cost of their son/grandson
Men = evil = war hungry
I miss the ruthless ambitious morally grey women characters in GOT.
The writers clearly haven’t read history books, because women rulers of ancient past, were some of the most vicious war mongering tyrants of all time.
Also, the writing makes the women look really stupid. For instance, the son for a son has already happened. Rhaenyra should know this.
Alicent even going to her in the first place is stupid. She’s basically putting all her family to death.
Exactly. I ended up not liking dany but Arya and Cersei were so fun to watch same with Melisandre, Margery and Olenna
This.
Forced Girlbossism has ruined GOT franchise. It started when Dany and Missandei said "Valar Dhoaeris. All men must die. But we are not men".
Strong Female characters like Arya and Cersei are always welcome, but why do they need to force Girlboss and LGBTQ for no reason (Renly - Loras and Dany - Handmaiden were key to the plot atleast. RhaeMysaria was irrelevant)
Why can't the writers just follow the damn source material? This whole scene is ridicolous...
Now GRRMs notablog rant about Hollywood hacks ruining adaptations by trying to one up the source material makes a whole lot of sense.
The source material is overrated anyway.
This is the dumbest scene in the entire show
Who in their right mind would trust someone who would offer up their entire family without any protest?
This is hilariously bad when you consider how Book Rhaenyra and Book Alicent had a deeply intense hatred for each other.
Oh wow, they really want us to believe, that there was a fRiEnDsHiP between two teens that survived 20 years of betrayals, abuse, maiming, more betrayals, physical attacks, rumors threatening execution, conspiracies, lies, mutual humiliation, murder of 2 children, maiming again. 20 years. Non-stop. And then like
"giiiiiirl, my love for you is still alive!",
"exactly, giiiiirl, mine too!",
"survived better than your son, giiirl!",
"yes, giiirl, and is harder to cut than Jaehaerys' head",
"oh, stop it, you, actually had to hire cleaning company to clean everything, but I don't mind anything for you, no money, no grandson, giiiirl"
Upon seeing that resistance was hopeless, the Dowager Queen Alicent emerged from Maegor’s Holdfast with her father, Ser Otto Hightower; Ser Tyland Lannister; and Lord Jasper Wylde the Ironrod (Lord Larys Strong was not with them. The master of whisperers had somehow contrived to disappear). Then she bade her stepmother choose: yield or burn.
Bowing her head in defeat, Queen Alicent surrendered the keys to the castle and ordered her knights and men-at-arms to lay down their swords.
“The city is yours, Princess,” she is reported to have said, “but you will not hold it long. The rats play when the cat is gone, but my son Aemond will return with fire and blood.”
That's the real Alicent, dear HBO, please fire your woke writers and show runners, or your production house will go in rot.
I hope they realise, that trying to force these two into having scenes together post Luke & Jaehaerys’ deaths, has made for some of the worst scenes in this whole franchise.
The entire plot line of these two being friendly during this war needs to be dropped next season, this is quite literally doing irreversible damage to the characters and story.
This scene was straight out of a daytime soap. How utterly embarrassing for a show with a massive budget.
at least daytime soaps are entertainingly cheesy and melodramatic. this isn't even that. this is just sad.
Alicent and Rhaenyra's friendship was broken in episode 5 of season 1 when they where still teenagers. 20 years later they are both in opposite sides of a civil war (which they helped create), Alicent's son killed Rhaenyra's son (eaten by a dragon no less) and Rhaenyra's husband order the death of Alicent's grandson by decapitation.
Alicent agrees to the death of her other son who wanted nothing to do with this but she forced into take the crown, also putting the lives of her other innocent kids, her brother, her father and her lover at serious risk.
'Come with me' she says to Rhaenyra.
HBO should force the showrunner and writers of the show to stop with the fanfiction level writing and have some respect for the audience.
instead of otto losing his head during the fall of KL it needs to be alicent cause wtf is this. not only did she sell out 2/3 of her sons, her brother, former lover but now jaehaerys’ death is meaningless.
Well by going to Rhaenyra she's selling out Daeron too. After Aegon and Aemond are gone, the claim passes to Daeron, and the Green armies will keep fighting in his name. So to have peace Rhaenyra will have to take his head too.
Comparing Alicent to Cersei is a huge insult towards Cersei. At least she loved her children and was ready to do anything for them. Alicent was kinda similar in S1. But man they have destroyed her character reducing her to Rhaenyra's simping sidekick. It's a shame that the writers are so biased towards 'ma queen Rhae'. This could be such a great show 😢
Thank you. For me, NO female character quite compares to her.

Rhaenyra: Has a husband, a girlfriend, four sons, two step-daughters and seven dragons to care for…

I wouldn’t be surprised if she did, she literally spreads her legs for anyone at this point, at least Daenerys had morals and integrity and that’s why everyone loved her
9 dragons*
😂😂
And yet the writers said Rhaenyra wanted to go 🙄
Do they even know what they're doing with Rhaenyra at this point?
Alicent gets the award of WMOAT - Worst Mother Of All Time. She got Aegon to destroy his relationship with Rhae's kids, forced him into becoming a King against his wishes, then tells him he sucks when he asked for her advice for becoming a good King. She never comforted Aegon after he lost his child, and also when he is crippled. And now, she is ready to kill him.
Cersei might be evil, but she will never sacrifice her children.

They are trying way too hard to make both of these women look good and justified in every action. They, are more ruthless and smarter in the book. They have more agency in their own story.
Literally, acting as if Cersei didn’t got many fans despite the fact that her character was “evil” she was still way better written that this two😭

They ruined Aemond's character for this scene, he wasn't hated by his family in the book and he only started burning settlements after losing KL, he wanted to lure Rhaenyra's dragons from the capital
It's kinda funny how they underrestimate the fans. I got the impression that they think us fans want it that way, one dimensional, plain and predictable. Didn't they realize that GoT was so successful because of the damn good writing of GRRM? Grey moral, complex characters. Mostly unpredictable events. Witty, unique dialogues. No or at least very few illogical mistakes. It felt so authentic, organic and like a journey you desperately wanted to be a part of. I hang on every word that were spoken in GoT and didn't want to miss one moment, no matter how calm and unspectacular it seemed at first. HotD will never reach that level and get that many people emotionally invested. I wish they would've hired a different showrunner and writers.
Probably worried viewers won't like the characters as much. Let's be real, female morally grey characters unfortunately don't get the same love as male morally grey characters. The writers are probably well aware of this so most likely tamed that to ensure viewers would like them and keep tuning in.
Team black or team green you know this is NOT alicent .

She plans to go skip around in the forest breathing fresh air and legitimately saying she would be HAPPY, KNOWING SHE MURDERED EVERYONE SHE EVER LOVED OR HAD A RELATIONSHIP WITH! That’s insane. It’s indefensible.

the finale was disappointing, yes but to say this as if people dont change is crazy. She even hesitates in agreeing that Aegon should be killed but Alicent has changed from Season 1, WAR does that to people.... They keep listening to twitter when twitter isn’t what made GOT or the books popular. Those women couldn't find a common tongue for 20 years, 10 of which they lived under the same roof. But you want me to believe that after Luke and Jaehaerys's deaths they still crave each other? It's not even about the book, the show isn't consistent with its own canon.
This is fanfiction at this point, what a waste of incredible tragedy about siblings fighting eachother.
Seriously this show could've been so much better ☹️

@@s_shaleh also let’s not forget about the big age gap between them in the books, alicent was already like 17 when rhae was a child less than 10 years old, it makes sense that they didn’t had a “friendship” between them due to that
Their friendship on the show changes the dynamics of the characters but it then also makes sense that a lot of scenes in the show will be played differently because the characters are different from the get-go. that's not a bad thing. The Alicent/Rhaenyra dynamic on the show is one of the best changes the show made to those characters tbh. Also, if Alicent now no longer believes in the cause that the Greens fight for, why wouldn't she agree to this if it means avoiding a senseless war?
She didn't even try to negotiate for Amonds life
I mean, Aemond's behavior and actions was a major motivator for her becoming demoralized from the Green's cause.
The only lives to be negotiated are the lives of Aegon, Helaena, and Daeron. Aemond is responsible for the war escalating in the first place. He also purposely attempts to kill his own brother and he burns a town simply because he was angry.
Aemond should have been killed a long time ago. There is absolutely NO redemption for him.
Wow, I can't believe that anyone thought that this scene made sense in any way. Season one Alicent is like a totally different character.
Can't believe the writers betrayed the character in this way. Where is the protective, maternal Alicent from season one, who wanted justice for her child after his eye was put out?
This messed up version of Alicent is offering her entire family up as a sacrifice to be slaughtered. And puts whatever fanfiction type ''feelings'' the showrunners believe Alicent had for Rhaenyra above maternal instinct and love.
Showrunners, please take into account the feedback y'all are getting. Literally we're SO tired of having these two shoved down our throats with pointless and highly illogical reunions. Alicent wouldn't have EVER sold out her children. You're telling me the whole premise of the show, the trauma those kids grew up with is pointless because of a ship y'all want to force to oblivion? This is BS, y'all. And the lack of respect for Jaehaerys is DISGUSTING. Y'all better correct this and bring our Alicent back. Even Olivia knew better how Alicent would behave in this pointless and stupid scene.
“We both know how this council would rule.”
Then she bade her stepmother choose: yield or burn.
Bowing her head in defeat, Queen Alicent surrendered the keys to the castle and ordered her knights and men-at-arms to lay down their swords.

Congratulations, you parroted some braindead comment you saw on reddit. I'm sure you feel smart.
Except you missed Alicent accepting Rhaenyra as Queen in Episode 8, her constantly arguing for peaceful solutions and avoidance of bloodshed in Episodes 9 and 10, her using the misinterpretation of Viserys' last words as a source of moral comfort, self-delusion, cope, and justification for supporting Aegon, and her Season 2 arc where - despite her best efforts to temper her sons' anger - she sees things spiraling out of control and grows progressively disillusioned with everyone and everything, culminating in her suicide ideation at the lake, and finally giving up all responsibility in the finale and giving Rhaenyra the option to win the war.

"... with no ambition greater than to walk where I please and to breathe the open air, to die unremarked, unnoticed, be free."
If a character literally say to someone, to himself or the audience that he has no ambition or agency... HOW I'M A SUPPOSED TO BE INVESTED IN THE CHARACTER THEN??
Alicent is officially useless as she has "given up" the fight. She abandoned her principles and most of her family members because of a situation she partially created (putting Aegon on the throne against his will, and now she agrees to let him die 🙄) Where is the ambitious and rational woman from the book?! Intelligent, determined and arrogant who doesn't let people walk all over her and who has motivations and a clear goal?
You don't know how to be invested in a character who is actively rejecting the power structures they've been nothing but a pawn in their whole life? You can't be invested in a character who isn't hungry for some sort of power? Really?
Sara Hess is unfortunately treating the show like a self-insert fanfic--no matter how little sense it makes, no matter how much damage it's doing to the narrative and the characters themselves--and Ryan Condal is facilitating it. Fire and Blood is the story of the Targaryen dynasty tearing itself apart and taking Westeros along with it. It is NOT a tale of sapphic love that just won't die even though it was barely hinted at on screen in the first place. Rhaenyra is being made absurd with like three love interests at a time and Alicent is just scraping the bottom of the characterization barrel at this point, walking around like she's in a Dior commercial and selling out her kids. The writers room needs an exorcism.
