Let me know if this guide was helpful in any way!
This is super helpful! I want to send some stuff out soon but I’m worried I know bgs technically is worth more for a 10 is black label 10 but how often do people chose psa for its name sake ? Are people in the market for bgs ? Or will it take a while to sell one ?
would be great if you do one of this pre grading guide and then actually sending it to PSA to see the result
@ I have a few grading result videos with pre grades on them back in the older videos
I've been burned far too many times with PSA, paying more to get less every time. I've completely switched to CGC, I spreadsheet all of my submissions and then i compare the cost/profit between CGC and if i had submitted to PSA instead. CGC is better value every time. A single pristine 10 can turn around a entire submission.
These inconsistent, subjective grading methods are the reason we developed a new scientific grading rubric a few years ago. Just looking for more intelligent collectors to join our movement. We understand many people have a lot invested in other services, but we are confident in our consistency and hope you are ready to invest in ACTUAL empirically measured grading. -10x Card Grading
@@10xCardGrading Calle me crazy... But I dont trust in your Channel 😂
You guys should check out AGS Grading Company
Just a helpful tip for anyone buying from ebay as well: If the card is on a white background, assume the corners are imperfect or that there is whitening. It doesn't hurt to ask the seller if they can send picture of the card on a darker background, worst case scenario they just say no.
I always try to go to card shops to buy anything that I would consider a mid/high tier card, but when you can't it can be helpful to know these things.
Hope you feel better my man. Definitely appreciate your insight and I'm looking forward to sending in my first cards soon I hope !!!
Oh yeah this was a while ago I’m feeling great. Good luck on your first submission!
I honestly feel, even tho PSA has the market cornered.. there is ALOT of respect for Beckett in the community.. even their 9-9.5 cards are considered just as good as PSA 10's amongst alot of sellers! IMO Beckett is the most distinguished grading company out there.. and yes the Black Label skyrockets the cards value.. its like, this is the best version of the card you can have.. and PSA's 10's are a bar below that to many people.. so yeah PSA may be the way to go for a lot of reasons.. but BGS is still VERY RESPECTED!
Ok here we go thank u ☺️ my personal collection
I have a Giratina V that’s corners are perfect and centering is perfect. No whiting on edges, but, there are some white specs in the middle that looks like missed ink. It’s not damage, it’s just their printer looks like it just missed some single spots. It’s not noticeable without a magnifier. So nervous to send it in.
PSA will give you that 10
@@abadman972 They have it and it’s in Assembly right now. Any day I should see the grade. Crossing fingers
@@XxDeathsEnemyxX What'd you get?
@@vincesteward3447 i wanna know tooo
@@vincesteward3447 9 lol. Figured, my luck.
Yo thank you for this video great tips 👍
I just picked the eevee 188/167 from twilight. The first card I’ve really considered grading. I just don’t have the love for it that some do.
Eevee doing really well from Twilight!
This video is what I needed! Video on the cleaning kit?
Kurts channel has all the videos you would need on cleaning www.youtube.com/@kurtscardcare
This is a great video ! thank you
Glad it helped!
well presented! appreciate the stats on your gem rate
Nice video dude
Thanks!
@@Itwasneveraphasecards I just got into this two weeks ago for the first time since I was like 11 and the reason why I think that your channel is going to be successful is you’re talking about stuff from the point of view that I’m looking at and that’s making money. I do enjoy the cards and I still have an original fossil set that I’m going to keep. For the future, I’m in a good financial spot to where I’m going to be buying booster boxes and storing them. And then I think in the short term I’m gonna be trying to flip slabs. Good luck with the channel. I have notifications on. I’ll be watching brother.
I use tag for all my grading slabs look so much nicer then the rest
what do you do with the cards you bought that you end up not grading? How do you recoup your money. Great video
@@jurbina94 Some I keep if there is potential for them to go up or I just resell them
Just seen this thanks
Awesome video. I’ve been sending a lot of these IR’s in and with it being modern cards I haven’t really been checking for scratches. I definitely will be from now on.
Nice glad I could help! Let me know how you do on your order!
Can you fix some scratches?
@taylorferreira2041 there are services and products out there that can polish cards, and buff out scratches and press edges, but there's debate in the community on how authentic or honest it is to buff and polish a card with chemicals before sending it for grading
So is the PSA upcharge another way of them saying "You're getting good bucks for this card.....we're taking our cut" ?? 😮
@@fictixn Haha pretty much
@@Itwasneveraphasecards hell no, that's foul lol
Basically, and then you dont get a premium service or better turn around times for the higher price. what a deal
@@simpsondraws Practically a legal scam lol
Yeah its pretty disgusting 🤢
Fr my observation, CGC pristine 10s fetching higher prices while the grading fee is a little cheaper compared to PSA.
I do see fine factory print lines on the back even on pack fresh cards from time to time which is a bummer.
The way I measure my centering is via a high precision ruler. For e.g, if the left side is 4.5mm and right border is 4.7mm, the L-R ratio will be 49/51. Personally I find it way more accurate than using a centering tool. I only send my cards for grading if its 45/55 or better just to be on the safe side.
Although centering at the front has to be 40/60 or better, I still think you can't get a GM 10 just because the eye appeal isn't there. Would love to hear your thoughts.
Awesome video
I mean dope video very informative but saying that BGS slabs are ugly but PSA aren't.. come on lol PSA slabs are horrendous and in terms of looks nothing beats a black label
BGS ugly in a bulky way, I wouldn’t say PSA is ugly it’s meh. SGC looks the best imo
@@Itwasneveraphasecards yeah, but they all have the same red boarder design around the label.. nothing that makes a 10 stand out.. you always have to squint to see that small number to be sure as well... where as Beckett has that pretty silver, a nice big visible grade number, and as you mentioned, the sub grades.. then when u hit 9.5-10 the label turns gold, then black label pristine.. imo they look way better then PSA.
great video and very helpful but i use my phone cam and low to mid light.
Nice!
Can you give your pull/buy rate of getting a PSA 10. Like how many packs or boxes do you get through to for 1 PSA 10
Great question! I don’t have that info because most of the cards that I grade are purchased raw. But it’s a pretty low percent around 30% are 10 worthy so you have to be smart about it.
Sorry for going off topic, but what is your current top 5 of the current era?
Your favorites and expected future favorites of the market? ;)
Singles or sets?
@@Itwasneveraphasecards Singles
Very tough question...
1) Zapdos EX From 151
2) Charizard EX From Paldean Fates
3) Groudon From Paradox Rift
4) Gardevoir EX From SV Base
5) Charizard EX From Obsidian Flames
Zapdos is too good, should be way more expensive IMO.
Charizard from PF is strong I really like it.
Groudon is amazing love the art love the Pokemon.
Gardevoir from SV really calls to me for some reason I think this will do well long term.
Charizard from OF I feel is undervalued. I could be wrong on this one but I think a good long term perfomer.
@@Itwasneveraphasecards Agreed that zapdos card is beautiful. Going to be grabbing myself one one day soon.
@@Itwasneveraphasecards
Good list. But no love for that Gastly card?! 😢
Can you help me sending my cards and split the costs with you please, i ONLY have about 6 cards to send and i dont know anyone where i love that does Pokémon.
This might be a service that I offer in the future but for now I'm sorry I can't help you. I will look into what it will take to stream line this process and see who else would be interested. Sorry!
How bad would a print line effect grading in say an evolutions xy set?
Usually a print line will bring it down to a 9. PSA has people grading though and I have seen them miss a print line and give the card a 10.
@@Itwasneveraphasecards ok cool thank you yea this print line cant be missed lol big help and saving me money ty.
Ever used TAG?
I like tag because it in theory unbiased grading, I hope in the future that the consumers come to respect tag slabs and increase their value. Unfortunately I think that the industry leaders in grading do not want tag to grow in popularity for business and for the employees jobs
@itwasneveraphasecards Do you utilize different grading companies for different kinds of cards. If it’s not a ten, where would you grade old sports or marvel cards?
PSA also utilizes black light or UV flash lights to check for whitening on back corners
PSA doesn’t usually recognize print lines as flaws.
That greninja. Is nice but super off 80/20 😅 10:49
The problem is acquiring psa 10 contenders. Who’s gonna sell a 10 contender at raw prices when they can just grade it themselves?
Ripping packs to find a gradeable card is never worth it either
@@devonscope6222 Not every one grades. Like I said in the video going to your LGS and card shows is your best chance at finding grade worthy copies.
thats why i collect japanese, basically every modern card is a 10 contender
I miss my Giratina lol.
Yup been see very off card getting 10 ??? 😮 ooo avg ok 👍
Ok tool link 🔗 8:26 thank you
Still with the uptick prices they are just stealing.
From all I have heard. PSA is going down in quality. Meaning any price advantage it has. Is being wasted. Starting to sound like Beckett is the better option even if you don't manage to get a Black Label
From what you have heard from where?
@@Itwasneveraphasecards Across a couple of different videos. People sending in cards to be graded. They come back one grade. send them in again and they come back a wildly different one. Pair that with apparrently they charge more if the card is rarer? Doesn't sound all that worth it
I guess it's coz your not from the UK / Europe but you missed ace the best looking labels great slabs good cost and actually grades not PSA lottery grades
Yeah Ace isn’t a thing here unfortunately
What are you smoking... bgs is #1 money wise... psa is the bottom of the top 3 lmao. 🤡🤡🤡
