    Very positive approach to a hard build, can't wait to see this one running and rolling

      Me too! This one is going to be fun. Slow and steady. Thanks for watching.

    Great job figuring out the bin of parts. I would not have hope for those carbs, but if they're original then definitely worth trying to save. I also gotta say....what a barbaric design! Lol. I can now see why the Honda 750 dominated the 70s.

      This is a fun project. Pieces and parts are going to be a challenge. Yes the CB750 was light years ahead of the others. Thanks for watching.

    Pre-72 Laverda 750 SF have English Smiths-Instruments , Triumph switch-gear and BMW headlight . Later had Denso Insts and Starter . The Cool bar clamps you like are /5 BMW Dave nz , too-many bikes , too-many years

      One of my favorite things about having this channel is the willingness for people to share their knowledge and experiences. Thanks so much

      Ain’t no cure for what we have. Just treat the symptoms by bringing home more motorcycles. 😂 Thanks for watching.

    I have an SF2, 750 (Disc brake later version of the milder GT model) and i understand the GT's were originally based on the Honda CB72/77's (Honda Hawk? in the USA). Love your video's...nice and concise and easy to watch. Looking forward to you firing her up in due course. Thank you from the UK!

    My ill spent youth consisted of getting kicked out of motorcycle dealerships. One of these dealerships sold American Eagle motorcycle. My friends and I spent many hours looking at and dreaming of the day when we would own the wonderful machines that we read about in well-worn Cycle World magazines.
    For winter project I waste money rebuilding basket case motorcycles, always put more into the bikes than their worth.
    Extra parts that do not belong to the bikes in a basket cast is normal as are missing parts. I built a '66 Sportster XLH the boxes besides the bike's parts contained a bunch of NOS Ford heavy duty truck parts.
    A good read on basket cases is Rebuilding the Indian by Fred Haefele. A quate from the book "A basket case can break your heart".

    I commented earlier today as to where you can find information on the sizes of the fasteners for this bike. The comment hasn't appeared for some reason???

    • @motorcyclerewind
      @motorcyclerewind  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Dang. Where did it go??? Or should I say where do I go to find the info. Thanks in advance for your help.

    Cool bike, the speedo rev counter mount looks the same as the ones used on BSA and Triumphs from 1971 on, the rubbers are readily available, there is no plate they just sit in the rubber.

    • @motorcyclerewind
      @motorcyclerewind  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! These are going to need new rubber. Feels like they could fall out.

    Those mystery bar holders might be R series BMW

    The bar holders you were not sure of with 13 mm hexigonal are right, the bolts are goiing in from the top.
    Like I wrote before the clocks are Triumph or BSA, not Laverda.
    The speedo will work but the Rev counter is 3 to 1 as on some BSA but not Triumph.
    The Laverda clocks have the oldfashion Laverda logo etched on the face.
    Laverda clocks are fitted totally different, but check the parts list.
    Triumph clocks are hold by the rubber peice only., like yours.

      @motorcyclerewind  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I already have the bars minutes with the hardware you mentioned. There was a bag with extra bar holders. Like a puzzle with extra pieces just to make you crazy. 😜

      The early 750-lavs (pre-72 ) have English 'Smiths' instruments 72-onwards have Denso , including Starter . They also had triumph switch-gear and BMW headlight like this bike has . Dave nz

    • @inialoane
      @inialoane ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kdsowen2882 The Triumph switchgear first came on the 750 GTF and the SF 1 together with the the smaller headlights, 36 mil carbs, and collectorbox under the engine and drumbrakes with the linkage.
      The pre 73 with the Bosch headlight had Tomaselli levers with Bosch starter on the lefthand side and a small chrome light switch on the right, could also be Bosch.
      Denso clocks came frome August 71.
