Sega would never really show romance in a sonic game. They did try to teases fans with the sonic rush endings.
In the first game, the two shake hands and don't let go until their dimensions rip thrm apart. They also stared at each other for a long time. When they were ripped apart, blaze reached out for sonic just before the screen faded.
In the second rush game sonic and blaze held their gaze on each other until they were both out of sight. Sonic was on the boat and blaze was on the dock. Blaze did look away because she saw marine going towards their ship but sonic kept his gaze on blaze even tho she was really far away.
These r just teases. If these were to be done in the sonic comics, there would some romance between them

+Azra neko We really really can't deny this ship gets teased though. Hell, of all the people to grow particularly fond of Sonic is Percival and I don't remember anything like that from the original tale of king Arthur between who they portray. This is one ship Sega hints at by themselves in many cases.

ZeroBeys In the Story Mode of Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympics Games Amy said something to Sonic with a communicator, and she said "darling" at the end. Blaze then facepalmed and said "Oh, brother." In Sonic Runners at Sonic's birthday Blaze said "I'm not good at parties and crowds and stuff, but...I wanted to be here for you." which could mean that she really cares about Sonic.

Even though we never knew what Sonic gave Blaze at the end of Sonic Rush, I like to think of it as a hug or even a goddamn kiss (EXTREME FANGIRLING) since the dialogue showed Sonic saying "..." And Blaze saying "...!" which means Sonic did something that surprised her!

Well, it makes more sense this pair than sonamy, sonaze doesn't seems too one sided like sonamy and its more well received.

Same with Amy and the other girls
Never said that the other girls were different even if at least Amy is really in love with Sonic unlike Blaze who only sees Sonic like a friend and has developed no other friendship with the other characters.
And Sonic never had a real love interest until now (except for Sally in the comics) and sees Blaze, Amy and all the girls as friends nothing more.
I know, not saying sonaze is a thing but just seem more liked and well convince me much more than any other ship, we don't currently know much about Blaze but at least to me it convinces me more than any other pair in the games (not bashing other pairs).. In the comics his love interest is obviously Sally, so not denying. Sorry for my attitude but lately there has been many sonamy fans who are just saying sonamy is a thing and bashing other pairs.

Serious Spike Sam The energy was warm. Because Sol Emeralds contain fire. If Sonic could make contact with them, he would feel pain, because he didn't get used to its powers.
They're is 06, even if it isn't good and technically didn't happen, Blaze constantly mentions a "blue hedgehog" in Silver's story after, and during, the initial conversation where they first meet Mephilis. Almost as though she knows this "blue hedgehog" that Silver's searching for despite her being at least 100 years into the future. There's maybe a few more Sonaze moments if you look REALLY hard, even though the main couplings there, which most I disagree on, are Sonelise, Shadouge, and Silvaze
Also the little ellipsis that sonic and blaze both "say" is implying that sonic kissed blaze, as sonic then says after "this is from me"
I was kind of wondering about that part just before Super Sonic and Burning Blaze went there separate ways (in VERY ABRUPT FASHION might I add). on the other hand, neither Dimps or Sonic Team have yet confirmed this mystery, so we will never know now. :(
Additionally, on Twitter the rest of the SonAze fans are still speculating around this particular aspect as well.🙂
I know I'm watching this in 2015 but that doesn't matter, lol. Anyway, when Caliburn said "Save the hugs and kisses for later", Percival (Not really Blaze but sorta) looked embarrassed and upset, and I'm like 😍😍. But when Sonic said that response to Caliburn, I'm like "OMFG MY DREAMS HAVE COME TRUE, GOOD JOB SONIC YOU'RE PUTTING YOURSELF OUT THERE, I'M SO PROUD OF YOU MATE!! #Sonaze Fever peeps!!" But one question, how did they end up getting up that cliff because I don't remember what happened next?

It's amazing how people don't know how silver and blaze technically never met. Sonic 06 never happened technically in the sonic story. Also in all of Blaze ' bios, they say she's from another dimension parallel to sonic's. She's not from the future. So sonic 06 blaze isn't cannon. Shadaze is stupid. How did that even become a thing.
Jordan LampkinApparentally '06 is being forced to canon but only few people (Sonic and Shadow) remember it. They also say that '06 happened before Sonic Rush and that explains why Blaze has her fire powers.

Also, after Sonic Rush arc did poorly in the comics the writers decided to make a reboot with Shadow instead. The result: Shadow has more in common with Blaze than Sonic. I still doubt Shadaze will become a thing though. Shadouge makes more sense than that.
I think Shadaze became a thing when people read the Archie comics, particularly Treasure Team Tango, (and the one before that where Shadow was transported to Blaze's world and she helped him return to his own world.) The comics aren't canon, but I guess it's one of the reasons for the shipping. Maybe fans found that they had some similarities? I don't hate the shipping, I'd just like to ship Blaze with *someone*! (She's my favorite!) Be it Sonaze, Silvaze, Shadaze- They're ok for me because these shippings include all my favorite characters! But I'm also fine with her not getting paired with anyone, she's an independent person, so I'd understand. She barely understood what friendship felt like or even was, I think she'd be even more confused as to what love is

Ironically, it feels like Blaze has now been scrapped in the comics. She hasn't made her debut yet and Silver's current/upcomic partner is going to be Gold the Terrec (seriously, Iann?) or something. She probably won't be anything more than a supporting character in the games for now... sure she will be in olympics for her popularity but I'm curious to see if she's going to appear in Sonic Dash 2 (Boom) or whether that's going to be filled with Amy's "sexiness" only. I'd love to see her more but then again, we fans complain about Sonic having too many friends taking screentime etc etc. so she will most likely remain as a supporting character with Silver because that's where she "belongs." It was *not* Sonic Rush which made Blaze a popular character, it was Sonic '06.
Apparentally all three hedgehogs remember parts of '06 but they all have forgotten something too. They all remember Iblis and Solaris, but Sonic cannot remember Elise (thank god!), Shadow cannot remember Mephiles and Silver cannot remember Blaze.
In defence of Shadaze, they do have somewhat similar nature (independent souls with distrust for friends). Shadow was impressed how Blaze could keep up with him and even disobeyed Rouge to help out Blaze. They may make a good team, but not reading the comics I don't really see them as a couple. I'm sure some do, but I'm not one of them.
I prefer Sonaze myself but after Sonamy backlash (Blaze was designed to be Amy's rival and Sonic's *potential* love interest) she was changed to be friends with both of them. Silvaze has been hinted the most and it seems most likely to "be a thing" but whatever. Yes, they were like brother and sister but they still can't remember each other. I'm not a diehard Sonaze fan so I am fine with Silvaze as long as the only reason for the ship isn't that "they are cute together" or "it leaves Sonic to be with Amy." Trust me, I've seen people hate Sonaze solely for it taking Sonic away from Amy. What sense does that make?
Shippings are interesting and stupid and all but Sonic universe is not supposed to age and apart from a few canon things there is no real "reason" for the pairings. Some people ship Sonic x Single Life because of that. On some level I have to agree with that.
Yeah, Sonic x Single life sounds appealing to me to a degree. I don't think the characters are types to get tied down in romantic relationships.(except Amy) But sometimes shipping can be fun, I just hate when people fight over them.
I always thought Blaze became popular because of Sonic Rush and it's sequel since that was her first appearance and first sonic game for the ds console. Did 06 make her more popular because it solidified her existence as a sonic character? I don't know! But it was by far one of the best games ever! It was so fun!

Yes, but I heard that the creator of Sonic stated once that if Sonic EVER got with a girl it would be with Blaze, also Elise is a human and Sonic is a hedgehog, with all due respect, that would be like pairing Godzilla with a young cat! @@evantgm1055 I find it strange how the Arthurian AU in Black Knight depicts the Knights of the Round Table (and other Arthurian mythos) as characters we've seen in previous games. I.E. Lancelot is Shadow, Percival is Blaze, Gawain is Knuckles, etc.

I'm not sonamy fans. But, I believe in Sonic and the Black Knight in Blaze case, sonic didn't give much affection to her as much as in Amy. But in deed, that scene is the most touching scene.
The ships doesn't have to be canon, but I'll always have a soft spot for the more popular ships.
