    Good analysis, some corrections
    1. Cost of battery pack is 4L INR for Nexon EV confirmed from Dealer. Even with mass production the cost will not come down as experts believe that government will impose taxes on battery to increase their revenue.
    2. The extra cost paid for ev can be put to any SIP that will generate an average return of 12 % pa. Hence until cost of drops to cost of petrol buying ev will not make sense.
3.Finally resale cost of ev neither petrol is going to be there.therefore this will be a complete capital drain.

The costs of battery will come down in the future
      1. If the government increases taxes on batteries, the production of Lithium cells and batteries will start in India. This will allow for reduction in transportation cost as well as no import duties.
      2. Also, with the increase in demand the initial difference between the cost of EV car and ICE car will reduce. So SIP point won't remain viable
      3. The charging infrastructure will increase rapidly with the increase in the demand for Elevtric vehicles. This will reduce the cost of public infrastructure. Moreover, the increasing use of solar as a source of energy will also reduce the cost of electricity for individual persons. This will lead to further reduction in operating costs
Moreover, most importantly the company is giving a warranty of around 8 years of warranty. So, in the life of car for all practical reasons u won't need to pay for replacement of battery packs.

In addition to the higher cost initially, there are still some tricky aspects like long distance travel charging facilities, lack of proper infrastructure for charging, servicing cost, breakdown cost, battery replacement cost, etc
If I want a car only for travel within a city on a daily basis for more than 40-50 kms daily, then I will opt for it.

they are "cost efficient" because of subsidies, rt now electric vehicles are more costly and actually harm the environment more then petrol. after all electricity is produced by burning fossil fuel.

    • @MrKhabbu
      @MrKhabbu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@godfather7339 electricity will be produced from coal irrespective and independent of whether or not electric vehicles are used . So it is incorrect to say that evs are more polluting . Solar is a option which is picking up .
As regards to subsidy the electric vehicles will still economical if proper comparison is done that is to say Apple to Apple .
Take the example of Solar panels for instance . Now the technology and price have changed dramatically. You can afford to have solar panels without subsidy and still can get a good ROI and return of capital in 5/6 years with zero bills .

    • @godfather7339
      @godfather7339 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@MrKhabbu yes but how much electricity? You do know that its much more harmful to burn coal instead of petrol/diesal. Using EVs means that you are using a much harmful source of fuel than before. The more people who switch to EVs the more coal we need to burn.
Solar is not an option, to convert to solar we would need about 2 million sq km of panels, to put that into perspective, thats the size of greenland.
Take a look at germany, it has completely converted to solar/wind, which sounds good on paper untill you realise that germany has the worlds most expensive electricity, its neighbours like Poland supply at half the price, and in the us, price is even lower.
guess how many times we will have to upgrade the grid to support electric cars? Suppose we all shift to EVs, how many times will we have to upgrade the grid?
Not 2 times, not 3 times, but about 6000 times assuming electric vehicles are 100 % efficient and there is no energy loss in the grid.
EVs need huge subsidy to survive, thats why electric scooters have 30,000 rs subsidy while normal scooters cost 60 000- 80 000, still people are buying petrol scooters, even though electric scooters are priced at about 25000 to 30000.
As I said above, solar is not a viable solution, to replace fossil, we need nuclear, which is about 40 to 50 years in the future, till then only option is petrol, to save the environment just use more efficient ice cars, or use public transport.
Btw replacing ice cars with EVs doesnt mean you will have to pay less, petrol costs less than water, but it is a important item, governments need to earn money, that is why they can tax petrol at 70% and still people will have to use it, when people switch to Evs governments still need to earn the same amount of money, they will tax electricity, which will bring the cost of running an electric car to exactly to what it is now for running a petrol car.

    • @MrKhabbu
      @MrKhabbu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@godfather7339 Solar is and will be viable in India . Roof top solar is one area where space is ample and it is catching on very fast . The rates have come down for panels and power both. Even if the subsidy is withdrawn they still are good option . Electricity availability is increasing day by day.
With new technologies coal is not a bad option now . Plus the pollution by burning coal will be limited to few places which be controlled and contained .
Vehicles move all around and create pollution all around .
Well we will continue to have different opinion nevertheless electric vehicles need a chance

    1. Electric vehicle gives more km in city bcoz of braking and less on highway.
    2. 8 yrs warranty on ev. , battery cost replacement is 40% of the vehicle, in this case. 5-6 lakhs in case of nexon.
    3. Fuel vehicles have more parts to replace over time.
In ev whole motor and battery are covered for 8 yrs. Only wear parts needs to be changed.
Ev currently is for city use or can be your 2nd or 3rd car in house.
And if u have solar roof at home then only u r saving environment. Otherwise its same as per researches... as to generate electricity in nuclear plants, it affects amount the same in pollution.

    @milaanpatel4997 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Nice cost analysis, you even took care of depreciating value of money over time. It is hard to digest but EV is not yet developed enough to be economically viable pollution free option.
    1) You explained clearly that ev cars are not economic and it is clearly profitable to go for equivalent petrol vehicle. In 8 years (warrenty period) you would save 5,40,000 ₹ in fuel but you are paying 5,00,000 ₹ extra during the purchase. With decent investments you can practically double this amount in 8 years. You will be 5,00,000 loss here.
    2) Structural life of a vehicle in India is on an average 2,00,000 km or little above 12 years. Battery of nexon is only insured for 1,50,000 km or 8 years. It makes no sense buying a new battery for a vehicle which is already at the end of its structural life.
    3) Range is biggest issue. with time it will only decrease as the battery degrades with time. Car in india is baught for all weather and road conditions. What you would do in an emergency situations. With petrol vehicles you can refuel in minutes and be on the road. In late night intercity journey you will have more confidence with petrol vehicle than EV.
    4) Lithium is one of the most toxic element on earth and there is no proper disposal method. Like nuclear waste, ☢️ it piles up. Atmospheric pollution can be undone by growing trees, land pollution cannot be undone, it always remains. Lithium is a rare earth metal. It is expensive and difficult to manufacture. While considering pollution of EV one has to also add the pollution created during mining, extraction, manufacturing and post processing stage of battery. Public is unaware of these aspect and thinks EV are pollution free.
    5) Worst part is lithium is imported from china. Europe economic crises is a good example why you don't want your transportation industry to be dependet on another country especially china.
    6) fuel cell technology you've mentioned (IIT guys) is almost 2 decade old concept. They use the hydrogen gas for fuel (you would have probably herd) . Currently they are banned due to explosion hazard. One accident and boom, you would wipe down two lanes of traffic. Current research is aimed at storing hydrogen in solid form on metal plates called hydrides. However this technology is still at its infancy.
Electric vehicle would be economic and environment friendly choice in commuter bike / scooty segment, however for cars, not yet. Petrol vehicle will continue to dominate economically and environmentally. Government is just creating hype around electric vehicle inline with what international community wants.

The cost of EV will reduce Ober the time. This will reduce initial difference. Also, with infra improving and range also improving, EV can make more sense down the road. For now, I think EVs make sense if ur city driving is on the higher side.

Kuch saal pehle mere papa ko sales man ne hero electric scooty chapka di bolke electric hai koi paisa nhi lgega 3 saal tak free leke ghumo 90km tak bas raat me charge karo. Vo utha laye 45000rs ki
Main coaching leke jata tha kabhi kahin se wire short circuit ho jaye, kabhi chuha wire cut karde, kabhi controller khrab ho jaye. Koi mechanic nhi bnata tha fir mai usko rickshaw karke 12km dur service centre lejata tha vo alag paise lete the warranty me bc bas battery/ motor hai baki wire fault ka paisa har baar mai bharta tha. +300rs har bar labour cost
1 saal chalaya aise agle saal uski battery kam hone lagi pehle do log market chale jate the 1 saal bad 2 baithao to market jate jate discharge. FIr mai usko bas sabzi lane k kaam me use krne lga usse jyada chalti nhi thi. Complain krne gya to vo bol rhe 18month ho gya nikal lo . Uska new battery 17000 ka aata hai itna ka to mai 4 saal tak fuel na use karta.
Aaj vo scooty daba ban k khadi hai kabadi bhi nhi puch rha. Kaas papa man gye hote aur activa le lete to aaj bhi tel bharao aur jha man kare nikal jao.

People who run cars more than 500 kms or want a new car you guys need to go for CNG CARS.Absolutely Amazing technology and also cost efficient petrol would cost you 7 rs per litre but cng would cost you 1.5 rs per litre compared to EV cng is the best option you can opt for
As for EV it would achieve succes after 2025 when we have have infrastructure
So cng is the best option yes you may lose pickup compared to petrol around 10 percent but the money you would save would literally open your eyes
Also on hills you can switch to petrol for short period of time an hybrid would always give you option which would be good for you!!

( in starting I want to say that don't go on my name,, it's my sons name for his online classes)
Everything info is great ❤️ except one:-
You shouldn't compare Nexon AMT (14 lakh) with a AMT transmission car price tagged at 8 as because at 8 lakh tag only hatchback comes with AMT transmission.
While Tata Nexon EV is Sub compact SUV ,, In current time the Sub Compact SUVs with AMT starts at 11lakh ( Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon (petrol/diesel) itself) . So there's a difference of 3 lakh not 5 lakh.
So we'll save 2 lakn rupees or I should say 3-4 as there's almost zero maintenance of EV in 10 years while A petrol/diesel Sub Compact SUV would cost 1-1.5 lakh approx on maintenance

    Very important is this topic.
    Please share with your friends.
    Dear friends,
I think 100% people don't know the practical applications on grid .
Please understand what is the every day grid transmission , what is the actual traffic on the grid on peak hours and off peak hours .
How much electricity is required for water pumping applications , how much electricity is required for commercial purposes and industrial applications.
Like this if we consider each sector and it's peak and off peak hours total requirements.
What is the total power generation and distribution one should understand.
In India the per hour power generation is 317000 MW and in India there are minimum 100000 petrol pump outlets on pan India basis or in 28 states and 8 union territories and in India there are 230000000 vehicles running on roads and registered in RTO'S of India.
If we consider each one individual petrol pump or outlet with a minimum storage capacity of 20000 litres of diesel or petrol then each one litre will have only 3 kWh or units of energy stored.
So each petrol pump has 60000 kWh or units stored energy or 60 MW stored energy.
Total petrol pumps outlets are 100000 and each petrol pump has 60 MW stored energy then it will be 6000000 MW of energy supplied to these 23000000 vehicles running every day on the Indian roads so where is the energy or electricity to supply for these many vehicles.
If each vehicle battery is charged with in 35 seconds then where is the electricity generation.
How can grid function on this sudden imbalance and over balancing of the sudden requirements from various sectors.
Please understand this generation and distribution or transmission and where are the extra lines to take the extra load .
    Dear sir greetings,
    Story of India.
India is having 78000 petrol pumps outlets and are selling petrol and diesel and gas and each petrol pump has a 20000 litres of liquid per bunk and this is having 60 MW energy.
So India requirement is 5000000 MW of energy.
    Please understand this ground realities.
230 million vehicles on Indian roads
    1 million is 1000000
    230000000 vehicles
If each vehicle gets minimum 5 kWh or 5 units charge then per hour India needs
    23 00 00 000 vehicles X 5 kWh or units
1150000000 kWh or units per hour
1150000000 kWh or units per hour if each unit is sold for 10 rupees
    11500000000 rupees revenue generated
    100740000000000 rupees per year
This is the revenue generated per year
    Sir these are genuine figures
    On ground reality
If we convert this to hydrogen then please think about the ground realities
Please understand the importance and value of the flywheel technology and invention
I am the only person to work on Flywheel power generation technology and Flywheel power storage technologies
I am the only person to work on power Multipliction technologies
I am using hydraulic applications pneumatic applications batteries operated motors in-pipe cascading power generation technology etc for power storage and power generation and power Multipliction
I have sent to mukesh ji , like this I have sent to all important people in India
I am doing my marketing and advertising and branding
I am open to all people of the world
    HYDROGEN story
From where can India get the input electricity for making hydrogen
Where is the water , where is the input electricity. Can any one answer?
For an input of 100 kw only 70kw is coming
So for 1000 kw requirements how much energy is spent
1428 kWh spent and 1000 received
So my question is from where can they get this energy
This is just for 1 truck energy requirements per 500 km run
India is having total 23 crore vehicles running on Indian roads
Out of this half are trucks ,buses
So how can we get so much of input energy
For storage , transportation and distribution how much more energy is required
    In the bus sector :-
In India there are 350000 busses and if each bus gets an investment of 1428 kw then 350000 busses should get 1428 kw investment per each one individual bus = 499800000 kwh electricity per every single charge so if we convert this into MW then 499800 MW per every charge .
    AND
For rest of the TRUCKS please think out of 100000000 trucks registered with Indian RTO from 28 states and 8 Union Territories.
Please think what best can be the real time situations.

Sir.. Petrol @ 100 rs , aur petrol or diesel car service cost per year is approx 7k to 12 k., 90% ppl who purchase car riding more than 50 kms/ day...or avg. 1500 to 2000 kms / month, and 90% ppl buy any petrol, diesel or ev car on loan.. and after that always worried about the fule cost and also some time AC driving cost 😉.... EVs coming with subsidy of 1.5 lack and also Intrest of Loan upto 150000 are exempted from Tax for everyone... So if u calculate over all ev are more cheaper, moreover u can install solar system who can have own house.. and make running coast almost free..... Now calculate...😊😊

Ok. Watched whole video and absolutely agree with your point. Agar Charging infrastructure, long range(500Km above) , and less prices introduce ho jayen then it makes sense. But another suggestion would be ki E SCOOTY Ya Bikes ko v liya jaa sakta hai kya. As per my googling Aether Scooter and Okinawa ( praise ) are the currently best options. Please do a follow up video with e bikes in mind which can be bought by average consumers and can cost under 1.5 lakh at max with premium segment. Peace out bro. Great job always 🙏

Ind main 4 wheeler wale average main 50-300 km range travel karte hain,
    Majority range - 200km area
Agar EV 400-500 km range dete hain tabhi profitble hain, lakin tab tak charging eco system sasta aur pass hona chhaiye, waraan toff industry chal padege 😁

Battery backup will reduce over time. It'll not return 260 kms on single charge everytime.
That should be factored in as well, if we factor 10% reduction every year in run on single charge. EVs become even less lucrative.

battery replacement cost will be minimum 40K every three year. so total cost of ownership will be same or more than combustion engine.

    • @hrishikesh07m
      @hrishikesh07m 3 ปีที่แล้ว

No it won't. Here's the logic; Take it as engine car's maintenance. Battery replacement is kind of service charges (if you put 5 years of maintenance cost of combustion engines togather, battery will be far more cheaper). Also day by day the battery prices will fall when everyone goes ev. It will max take 5 more years, which is warranty covered.
So it will always be positively effective by economically and definately ecologically. The cars are efficient for day to day commute by pretty big margin of pros over cons. Cons are also gonna be reduced day by day. The way EV evolved in past couple of years is remarkable and it's bound to happen. Please don't just nit pick things. Change the perspective.
If fuel goes low demand, the thermal power will produce more electricity at lower cost. Which will effectively lower the prices per unit overall (not just car charge) generated energy.

@@hrishikesh07m Plain estimations with no basis.
Only 1 company(Tata) is working positively towards EVs and even they are just managing 1000 units per month in sales and it took more than 2 years for them to reach this number, rest of the players are yet to join in mass market cars segment. Post 2025 most of the mass market brands are planning to launch their cars which still excludes Maruti, so even after 3-4 years the EV sales market share will barely reach double digits, hence cost of battery packs won't come down by significant margin as we are expecting it to be as per the economy of scale logic and simultaneously government of India is focused on bringing in Flex fuel engine which is similar to ongoing and conventional mechanism of refuelling where it will take minutes to fill the car tank and travel a lot of miles whereas the charging time of EV cars still remains a concern and that'll again effect the sales of EVs negatively. So it becomes even more difficult to bring the cost of battery packs down, so in 5 years if you foresee battery packs coming down significantly then unfortunately friend, you are day dreaming.
