Its not a movie but would REALLY recommend Our Flag Means Death. Noticed that it wasn't featured in the TV recommendations and its kinda flying under the radar but is one of my favorite pieces of media ever.
Would it be possible to get either the name of the movie repeated at the end of the description, timestamps, or a written list at the bottom? The description lets me know if I want to see the movie, but then I have to rewind the segment to catch the name and then go back to watch the next. Great video! I can't wait to see several of these
Completely agreed. Video chapters are another option! It might actually be easier because it doesn't require Rowan to edit or script these videos any differently.
Well you have nothing. You can not understand what true love is. You have a reprobate mind. I'd rather walk with Jesus every single day of my life than walk with you! What have you got to offer yourself?
Hey Rowan, really loved this video! Just wondering, but would it be possible for you to make a video about LGBTQ+ films in different languages? For example, recently in India a movie called Badhaai Do got released which follows the story of a gay man and a lesbian in a marriage as a societal and familial compromise and it's really well handled. Some really nice shows are out there as well, like from Japan, What did you eat yesterday for gay rep and Koisenu Futari for ace representation. Also, in shows, some of the recent Filipino BL series like Gaya Sa Pelikula and Gameboys are also quite worth mentioning!
As someone who watches a ton of Asian cinema, I was rather disappointed that Rowan's list involved mostly western productions. There is a huge list of great LGBTQ+ shows/movies that have (or are) coming out of places like Japan, Thailand, S. Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan, and even Vietnam. Yet, they seem to get overlooked a lot when it comes to lists like these.

I’ve just watched “Il filo invisibile” (The invisible thread), an Italian film that came to Netflix this year and it’s about two gay dads and their teenage son who is making a documentary’s about them for his school project. Whilst the story centers on the (straight) son, it is very much about the relationship between the dads as well. It’s a very sweet film, I recommend it!
That is absolutely disgusting! I am Italian also. I'm glad I had a mother and not two dad's that put their private parts in eachothers rear. I would have been absolutely traumatized beyond any help at all and extremely embarrassed as well. That is absolutely disgusting.

I remember seeing Great Freedom ("Große Freiheit") in the program of my local cinema last autumn. I wanted to watch it, but for some reason, I didn't. Thank you for reminding me to put it on my watchlist! It's really exciting that an Austrian film is getting international attention.
I caught several movies at Flare this year and would also second the recommendations for The Novice, Girl Picture, and Framing Agnes! Another aspect of Girl Picture which I really liked was that one of the three protagonist's storylines explores asexuality, which is something I've not seen in a teen coming of age movie before so that's also super exciting. And particularly cool for a movie to be unafraid to have multiple LGBTIQA+ storylines existing side by side in different characters - often it feels like pieces of media have the token gay storyline given to one character and it's easy to imagine that being the case for a film like Girl Picture that features three protagonists all going through different things, so I really appreciate that the film was interested in exploring more than just one letter in the LGBTIQA+ acronym!
You are an absolute legend for putting this together for us - thank you! The ones I'm most excited / intrigued to see are Dope Queens, Girl Picture, To Kill the Beast, Am I OK? and Framing Agnes. Also looking forward to future podcast episode(s) on the Flare festival and any of these films!

I heard the daughter in Everything Everywhere at Once has a girlfriend and is part of the contention of the mom and daughter but I know the movie focuses mainly on the mom and I dunno how much of the daughters queer identity is a focus in that movie.
