Loved street hawk (called "El Cóndor" in my country) AND Automan. Two of the first things i tried to find at the beginning of something called internet.
how did i miss automan? never seen that before in my life. just going by the muffler it looked like an mid eighties xl600 or similar honda. street hawk looks like a yamaha xt600 with some street wheels and brakes grafted on.
Just remember if you were a kid growing up through those times they were the best bikes ever. And I was a kid through those days. Hollywood gave it a good go back then. You might cringe now. 👍😊🏍️
i remember watching most of these back in the day and thinking fantastic motorcycles were mostly just a honda xr/xl 600 or 650...and today i think they must be kinda fantastic coz honda still makes them 40yrs later and they have not changed much
Hey, it's Brion James as the first motorcyclist talking in this Battle Star Galactica clip of 1981 'Blade Runner' fame. 'Leon Kowolski (file section, new employee, six days at the Tyrell Corp. by the time Holden was voight Kamping him. Holden got mildly 'aired' out too, unfortunately) was his character. Sean Youngs' 'Rachael' sure knew how to 'air' Leon out of existence. She actually 'retired' him. Harrison Fords' 'Deckard' did not.
Note the bond bike was mostly the XT yamaha model not the Xj750 turbo that it seems to look like. This easy to tell by wire wheels, narrow tyres and long travel suspension
AESCULAPTORmark3 "Automan" was a great series in the 80's. It's a shame that only lasted one season. On those days it was the most expensive series in the world. 1 million dollars per episode, just because of the special effects. Thanks for sharing your comment. Cheers.
RACER TV Hi mate. Er WOW! no way did i even realise that each one cost that much to make. Worth every single dollar though. I'm 43 now and love this stuff just as i did back then.

Bit of Trivia.... The motorcycles used in the film 'Rollerball' in the 1970's were under the casings. Honda 125's bought from 'Sid Morams Motorcycles' of Slough. This was the nearest large motorcycle dealer to Pinewood Studios, where the film was shot.

I love the motorcycle versions of AUTOMAN.. but STREET HAWK is one of my all-time favorites.
If there's one thing the eighties TV shows were good at, it's ignoring laws of physics.

I dunno if animation counts, but I grew up in the 80's thinking that the Cyclones of Robotech were the coolest motorcycles ever.

I can't believe that as a kid I felt for this. Wow. But that is what all we had back then
How the feck did i get through the 80's without seeing 'Automan'?
I'd guess they only made the one pilot episode and realised straight away it was garbage. The 80's has a lot to answer for.....
