    In Miguel's cancer research fundraising, I understood it as how much money will he have raised in 20 additional weeks, if he raises money at the same rate, i.e. in week 56,6.

    How do you tell the difference in word problems between direct and inverse? Let's say this you have 7 electricians rough in a house and it takes them 6 hours, how long would it take 3 electricians rough in a house?

    • @chrismathsacademy4176
      @chrismathsacademy4176  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This worded problem would be indirect, why? If I reduce the number of electricians, the number of hours will increase. So the electricians and hour are going in two separate directions, one is decreasing, and the other is increasing.

    • @mattibeck3289
      @mattibeck3289 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrismathsacademy4176 so is indirect another way of say inverse ? Or is inverse completely different

    Q6 says how many cups of flour required to make enough cupcakes to fill 7 jars but you wrote how many cupcakes to fill 7 jars only

    • @chrismathsacademy4176
      @chrismathsacademy4176  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Divine, before we can find how many cups of flour it will take to make enough cupcakes to fill 7 jars: We must first find the number of cupcakes it will take to fill 7 jars, then we can find the amount of flour is required to make those cupcakes.

    Please divide 490 in the ratio 2 :5:7

    • @chrismathsacademy4176
      @chrismathsacademy4176  2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Divide 490 by 14. Where did the 14 come from, you might be wondering? Well, that's the sum of all the ratios (2+5+7 = 14). Now, the result you got after dividing 490 by 14, which is 35, is what 1 ratio represents.
      Therefore:
      2 ratio = 2 × 35 = 70
      5 ratio = 5 × 35 = 175
      7 ratio = 7 × 35 = 245
      I hope this helps, blessings and peace.

    in the first math problem was 1200, not 12.000.

    • @chrismathsacademy4176
      @chrismathsacademy4176  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's $12,000, 4 times 7,500 is 30,000 and if we divide the 30,000 by 2.5 we'll get $12,000. Hopefully, this helps you to understand how I got that answer.
