Bro. Thank you so much. i have a quiz on this in 2 weeks and my teacher did'nt explain it to me properly. I've tried watching other videos but none of them helped me and just wasted my time until I found your video. I just want to say thank you very much. You just got yourself a new subscriber.
Glad the video helped! I appreciate the sub and best wishes with the quiz in 2 weeks! I am livestreaming Wednesdays (8:30PM eastern time) so stop by if you have any other questions for your quiz.
thank you! the way you explained it was straight to the point and easy, some teachers starts talking about other things and it confuses me. Pleas post more word problems like this
I will add more ratio word problems! I made this ratio practice test video somewhat recently: th-cam.com/video/bLxG5llduJc/w-d-xo.html I provide a link to the practice test in the description of that video. I also provide a copy of the practice test that I use in that video.
These questions are one of the types that will occur in Civil Service Exam. I really don't understand how to solve this kind of problem. Glad I found your video very helpful. Thanks again!

Hi . Thanks so much u helped me soooo much.My math teacher doesn't explain well and u made it so easy, simple and easy to understand and......well i don't know how to express my gratitude. U are trulyyy a LIFESAVER.Bcs of u my percentage in math improved dramatically. Thank u soooo much. My teacher was so impressed by my math after this video and so were my parents. Im so impressed.ive liked and subscribed and giving your link to friends and family and i dont know what more to do. But thanks a million anyways. ❤❤❤.
It's a two way street - I am happy knowing that your grades went up in math. I want these videos to reach as many people as possible so thank you for sharing them with your friends and family!
Introducing an x in a ratio allows us to look at any numbers that keep that ratio. For example, the ratio 1:2, we transform to 1x:2x. So if x = 3, we get 3:6, if x = 5. we get 5:10. All those ratios 1:2, 3:6, and 5:10 are equivalent. X represents any number we can multiply the ratio by to get an equivalent ratio. We do this so that we can find the exact numbers we need in the context of the word problem.
9x = 7x +42, I subtracted 7x on both sides of that equation to get the x terms on both sides. 9x - 7x = 2x because 9x - 7x = (9-7)x [Distributive Property] = 2x.
How to solve if the problem is (in a mathematics club, there were 8 girls for every 5 boys.when 19 boys and 4 girls were added, the ratio became 9 girls for every 7 boys.how many girls were there at the start).thank you.
Sorry for that! That question has a lot going on. The key to understanding questions like that is plugging in real numbers to see the pattern. Once you see the pattern, define the pattern with algebra. Once you have an algebraic expression, the question is solvable. There is quote, I think it is from Abraham Lincoln, that goes, "Give me six hours to chop down a tree, and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe." Questions like 2 are the embodiment of that quote because for this question, you need to spend a lot of time understanding what is going on, and carefully looking for the trend to describe with algebra. Best wishes!
Are you comfortable with basic ratios? You definitely want to make sure your foundation is strong before you move on to the application questions. But do not lose hope! Getting better at math is all about being confused and working through it. Try to learn a little bit each day.
Currently relearning all math concepts from the beginning as I prepare for college. Really like the way you explain these problems!
Happy to help! That's awesome that you are being so proactive in getting ready for college.

Why did we subtract 7x?
Same question. I hope this will get answered.
what im searching for rn loll
Bro if I could swear you f*****g helped me thanks. I did not understand when my teacher was doing it you earned a subcriber
Thanks for the sub! I hope your math class is going well.
Nice way of teaching!!👍👍
For the first problem, what did x represent? I am a little confused.
@@vinteachesmath Thank you so much! This helped a lot!
THANK YOU for making this so simple to understand!
I am glad this was helpful and easy to follow!
This helped a lot thank you for making ratio easier
Thanks for your sharing, clear and helpful.especially the check points, it's a good point.hope you can talk more ratio.thx
I will add more ratio word problems!
Can this be used to solve three ratios
The multiplying everything in the ratio by x concept does transfer. But those 3 part ratio word problems are definitely tricky!
U EXPLAINED THIS AMAZING!! S/O TO YOU!! THE GOAT!
Glad it helped, and I appreciate the vote of confidence!
OMG IM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS I WAS TRYING TO FIND A VIDEO WHERE THE PROBLEMS WERE EXACTLY SIMILAR TO THE ONES WE WERE DOING AT SCHOOL 😭🥺🙏
I am glad this video helped! I tried to pick tricky questions!
@@vinteachesmath quick question: is this eureka math?
@MLAOFFICAL No, I never heard of eureka math until this comment. Ratio and proportion questions are very similar across a lot of sources.
@@vinteachesmath ok
@@vinteachesmath BUT THANK YOU SO MUCH! I HAD A QUIZ TODAY AND THE PROBLEM WAS SIMILAR TO THIS! IM LUCKY I FOUND THIS VIDEO BEFORE MY QUIZ
Why did you flip 7x to negative and put it on both sides? And how did you get the 2
9x = 7x +42, I subtracted 7x on both sides of that equation to get the x terms on both sides. 9x - 7x = 2x because 9x - 7x = (9-7)x [Distributive Property] = 2x.
I had the same doubt. Thanks both of you.
One for asking and the teacher to explain
thanks this will really help in my exam
😘
I hope your exam goes well!
tysm! my state test is coming up and i never understood ratios. you literally just saved my life!😭🙏
Good luck on your state test! I'm happy to help, and awesome job putting in the extra work!
You are indeed a great teacher
I appreciate the vote of confidence! I enjoy making content and responding to comments.
Thankyou very much .May God bless you sir❤❤❤
You're welcome! Best wishes with the rest of your school year.
Well explained 🎉😊
Glad you think so! Ratios are a big part of future math classes - especially geometry and calculus!
Idk for the 1st problem but how did u get 275?
He divided 525 by 21 which got 25.. then multipled 25 with the 11 it's 275
That second question was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you
This was amazing i understand it so mutch now tysm you got a sub
😊
Thanks for subbing! Word problems can be tough!
Hi, can l ask? How do you get 3 in checking in number 2? Thanks for answering.
Thank you sir for saving me great deal
Happy to help! I hope your school year is going well!
Thank you, this helped!
Glad to hear!
For number 2. Will - Sam = 9 - 7 = 2 = 6
Both 2 and 6 are divisible by 2.
So 1 = 3
3 x 7 : 3 x 9
7: 9
Well explained, Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!

Why do you subtract it by 7?
Math is SO annoying. Every time you learn something, here goes a problem to throw what you’ve learned out of the window. It is beyond frustrating.
I can see why that's frustrating. But that's life in a nutshell. You keep moving and keep solving problems.
@ Youre right. 😩

Thanks y so much but can u Donte about ratio cause I am still struggling
Now I remember ratio I don't believe that I forgot it
It happens! If I had to retake my finals from college, I would be in trouble!
Why do you make it Soo complicated????
There are easier ways to solve it.
Please share the easier way, and I will pin your comment!
