I believe you said in one of your videos that you replace the factory toilet with a composting toilet. I've seen the sawdust/bucket toilet system used and, if properly maintained it has less odor than any other RV/boat setup I've seen. My question is, if I were to pull out the factory toilets, do you think it would be pretty easy to cover up and seal the hole? Just dreaming at this point, but it's fun to try and figure these things out. Love your videos!
That’s wasn’t us. We haven’t done anything to the toilet. Still the factory electric toilet with a macerator which is what we prefer. We have a 30 gallon San tank, so we can get at least 10 days on it with 3 adults. Thanks for watching and I’m glad your enjoying our videos!
I ordered ours from marinebeam dot com. FS-42-30C is the part number. "30-LED 42mm Cone End Festoon - Mini-Max". You want the light color to be Cool White for an anchor light.
Thanks for the great videos! I am a fellow submariner/puget sound boater. I’ve had three boats in various marinas from Port Orchard to Gig Harbor. I just sold my last boat and I am planning on upgrading to a ranger tug or cutwater. I thought I was settled on a C28, but your channel has got me considering the R27. Just not sure about outboard power vs inboard. I know your boat is faster, but for some reason I’m still thinking inboard. Keep the good content coming.
Thanks for watching! If you want speed, the Cutwater C-288, twin Yamaha F250's. It's faster than the RT27-OB. We like the outboard for the speed and ease of maintenance.
Hello thank you for posting info of your hard work and passion for ranger tugs, I currently have a R-23 on order and can’t wait to get out there on the west coast water ways our home port will be pender island bc. I’m quite excited to do the shore power plug upgrade, anchor light, and trim tabs as my first set of upgrades. Hopefully when all this Covid gets sorted we will get to meet you in person out there
Thanks for watching! Pender Island is in our back yard. We're hoping to spend some quality time up at Bedwell Harbor this next year. It'd be great to meet up with you sometime as well!
Martin, thank you. Where did you purchase your Rocna anchor and Mantus anchor guard? I see West Marine sells the anchor but if there is a one stop shop for my Ranger Tug 27 would be much appreciated.. Have another question. The 2023 Ranger 27 LE come with 6 100 Amp hr Li battery’s. With the the exception of adding more weight and taking up more space , I don’t see any technical issue with my exchanging the 6 100 amp battery’s with 5 200 amp hr Li battery’s . Am I wrong? Again your taking the time to answer my questions is very much appreciated..
Thank for watching!! Rocna10 anchor I picked up off the shelf at West Marine. Mantus Anchor guard, and bridle and mooring hook, I got directly from the Mantus website. The technical issue with Li batteries I see is space for that many of them. Second issue is the battery charger. The system will come with a 60amp battery charger sized for a 600ah bank. Going to 1,000ah bank, you'd probably have to upgrade your charger also. I'd recommend upgrading your solar first, as that'll reduce the amount of battery bank you need. For a hot climate, go big up top. Like, a pair of 270 watt panels for 540watts total. That should yield at least 250ah a day in a sunny climate. Maybe more. Or you could look at something like Lithionics. You could probably fit 3 of their 320ah batteries in the center cockpit storage area. Here's the spec's posted on our website about the Li install on the R27-OB LE edition. www.letsgochannelsurfing.com/luxury-edition-lithium
