Which salty dog? The one with the beautiful boat that went out on a sea trial?

@@Letsgochannelsurfing light blue Pursuit OS375. I was up there for my daughter’s soccer tournament. We had a VRBO in Kingston. Weather didn’t work out to take family out to enjoy last days of sumner obviously. Watched your lithium upgrade video yesterday. Doing my own project. Great info👍

Have you checked with your insurance? A friend of ours couldnt goto lithium because his insurance wouldn't cover his boat with them. His boat is also valued pretty high, so that might be another factor. Keep up the great videos!

Nice setup!! Are you an electrician by chance?

I am not an electrician, nor a mechanic. I’m just a boater.

When you converted to lithium, did you ever consider doing away with your thruster battery and tying the thrusters into the lithium house bank? If you considered it, did you find the lithium batteries weren't suited for the continuous draw of the thrusters? I've been in the very beginnings of thinking about upgrades to a newly purchased R27 Classic, which has less room for batteries than your R27 OB. Though, I will definitely take your advice and increase my solar before I make a jump to lithium. I don't use the inverter much at all coming from a sailboat that didn't have an inverter, but I like the idea of being able to stay on the hook for an extended period, even during our darker months on the Salish Sea.
Any recommendations on how to bootstrap oneself from a loose understanding of all the components of a solar and/or LiFePO4 system to grok'ing it well enough to design one? Do you think Nigel & Jan's Boat How-To site/courses are a decent starting point?

Thruster and Engine battery remained AGM and I will keep them that way. Upgrading your solar will increase the time you can spend on the hook. Check this out on our web site. www.letsgochannelsurfing.com/boat-upgrades/house-battery-lithium

Struggling with the information about lithium state of charge for getting the most "mileage" out of your batteries. As you know, I have a factory LE boat with 560a/h lithium house bank. Any suggestions on how to accomplish this? Feel free to reach out directly, but I thought this might be a good question for the audience. ;-)

Are you talking about longevity? Or just normal operation?

@ is it bad for the lithium’s to stay on charge? Does that damage the life cycle of them? If that’s the case, I was just wondering if you had any tips on how I can avoid that with the factory setup.

With several family members aboard when you re cruising, how often do you have to pump out?

    • @Letsgochannelsurfing

@@johnjcoxiii9401 we have a 30 gallon waste tank. With 3 adults onboard we usually get 10 days. So by day 7 or 8 I’m looking for the nearest pump out.
