I do not know the story of this man, however, I suspect that he is too entitled, I do not trust him, as some Batswana people told me nasty things about him. But I cannot vouch for what I have heard about him. I think that the media is South Africa must interveiw the ruling party and President of Botswana too so that we can have a balance view on the matter.
I am South African and believe that this president gave Botswana some very good years. Just leave the man alone and let him return home.

Did he just say HARASSMENT AND THREAT TO LIFE WAS NEVER SEEN IN BOTSWANA...Boy, talk about the unprecedented nonstop harassments inflicted on the citizens during his tenure, even some extra judicial killings that his then vice president talked about on an interview on a state television???Man...i wish this man could stay out of the country forever!! Our lives were a living hell during his presidency....let him feel a bit of what pain we were going through....Fear for his life🤣🤣🤣....Look who is talking!!!! Our Botswana is a very peaceful country and it shall remain so. who is he to claim to take responsibility of removing a government that was duly elected by the citizens...See this is the mentality he has that is a big problem to anyone he works with, he dictates what's got to happen to you the way he thinks best suits you. This is the first time someone had to step up to the bally and he had no power to squash them.....Life is like a boomerang... You have had your time in government which was horrible to us. We shall choose a leader whom we relish to lead us. I am not entirely happy about the on goings of the current government and if there was an alternative out there, for sure i would cast my vote to see what difference they would bring. Unfortunately as things stand, our opposition is very weak and captured. Personally my hope lies in BCP and they need to work hard to convince me. I will vote for them in 2029 if they work hard. I'm not a fan of debeers personally because it's white folks controlling African minerals and feeding their own value chain, whereas the black majority don't benefit much from the wealth and job creation those minerals can bring

Journalist can you please interview the current president of Botswana as well you should report a balanced story.President Masisi was elected by the people of Botswana in a free and fair election, right now the opposition is winning elections in a free and fair election, so what's wrong with all this ,ask him about the charges made in court ,if he says he is under attack,
1.This guy is still being paid all his salary monthly.
2.All the benefits that the former president gets ,he still get those including 4 flights per year.
3.All the government vehicle and a house given to the former president he still got all those .
4.He still got bodyguards and secretaries paid by the government as part of his package.

The problem about African leaders they like to protect one another. I don’t know much what this man did however why as an ordinary citizen it’s easy to be arrested when you do wrong. He didn't even take SADC seriously. In fact he never even used to take any interviews. He was a commander. Now he has lost all that power and the country trying very hard to bring things back to normalcy. Even the opposition can now be interviewed and quoted by government media. Parliamentary debates are now live on both the national radio and television. So, who was really a dictator. Even now people are still struggling with the effects of his dictatorial decisions such as trying to convert the whole country into a zoo, as animals attack people even in their own homesteads, while he was making money out of it, with tourists coming from as far as the UK to see the animals, but having paid for everything into his family bank accounts there and all the country ever benefited were tips to the tour guides. He will never come back to Botswana, even if the opposition was to win the general elections.

How convenient for him to claim that this is unprecedented when all of the things he's complaining about were ushered in during his presidency. He knows nothing about taking accountability and is in self imposed exile because he's literally running away from taking responsibility for his own actions - what a bore and definitely the worst president our country has ever had. The new president is bad news in Botswana. Ian Khama had a good track record. He was a great President. This new one was his deputy, and he trusted him, all the while he was eyeing his position.
