According to your video, life's meaning is found not in perfection or success, but in the authenticity and profound growth that comes from navigating life's inherent contradictions. Thanks!
I agree but I believe love,. like hate, is learned from our parents and role models while we are children and adolescents. Really great fathers in America are much rarer than purely provisional, non-present, or weak fathers unable to connect with their children, especially their sons. We see the end result in the frequent mass shootings in America, boys immersed in social media while dad is "at the office" or otherwise engaged. Fyodor would have a hey-day writing about the current world which is becoming more surrealistic and chaotic every year now.
I recently finished reading his work, "Demons". It was quite a challenge, a big fat book LOADED with characters (from the first page I created a character list to keep them straight as the names were sometimes so similar as to be confusing. It doesn't help that the writer variously identifies them by first or last names so yes, it's a wild read). What struck me in reading this novel was how similar its plot was to some of what's going on in today's political scene, including the insurrection and storming of the Capitol. I intend to read more of this fascinating and brilliant writer!
Agreed. Life is what we make it from where we’re born and what we were given. And many squander that with supernatural beliefs of waiting till death to start living.
The meaning of life is the one that give it! You create your own universe. The choises you make should be moral ones, the pains you suffer are badges you have earned. If you need someone else to tell you the meaning of your life, then you have learned nothing and are destined to continue over and over.
meaning of life is attainment of moral virtues in one's own life or living conditions. Both Tolstoi and Dostoveasky ultimately reaches same meaning of life i.e. "Moral Virtues"
What is the meaning of life? Equity. The meaning of life has always been discovered in learning how to live equitably (i.e., whether single cell ameba or homo sapiens, living well and within your birthright and means, striving for a fair and good life). The question is constantly re-evaluated during each new age because the ‘how’ is constantly changing. The quantum wave function defines the meaning of life based upon our equitable existence which is determined upon the moment of observation (i.e., Life has no meaning until we live equitably among our fellow observers). Prior to this life is chaos (i.e., without meaning), that is, life could be anything, everything or nothing at all.
Excellent , and ask an added bonus , at around 9 mins the subtitles switch from English to Italian and then back to English . During the discussion of " I fratelli Karamazov " .
Thanks for the comment! Maybe by 'the beginning of time,' it refers to when the first forms of life or the earliest events we can place on a timeline appeared. It's more of a poetic expression than a scientific one!

Love is the only reality and it is not a mere sentiment. It is the ultimate truth that lies at the heart of creation. Rabindranath Tagore.

No human can love ,but this ultimate truth only one is
The search for the meaning of life is meaningful
Agree
Beautifully put!

Dostoyevsky said that to remain human in the face of everything is the goal.
"remain human" ? What does that mean?
The meaning of life is to give life meaning. This world by itself has no meaning what so ever!. We come and go that's all.
Where the hell do people go after death?

@@Jasminehaydon People don't go anywhere, they're dead.

That’s circular hence meaningless. The biological world we occupy ABOUNDS with meaning because it ABOUNDS with life.

I think to understand and accept who I am takes me towards the point where the meaning of life is . I am very ignorant though.Thanks.

searching for a meaning, is like trying to catch the wind..😢
More like, searching for new winds

Hahaha, I'm glad you called it a "bonus"... Thanks for this feedback! It's a pleasure to find so many attentive and cultured people 🙏
What is the meaning of existence of an animal?
We give meaning to whatever we want to have meaning! Nature, itself, is not obligated to have meaning.
Precisely.
Cast a cold eye
On life , on death ,.
Horseman pass by !
excellent. What is the source ?
The meaning of life is the meaning you give it, If there is an ultimate meaning, does anybody really know ?
WhoEver that is in the Thumbnail Doesn't Know the Point of being Clean Shaven.
What a stupid expression, ' Since the beginning of time ' Time has no beginning and it has no end either.

Maybe to know what it's like to die.
Dostoevsky comes from a Christian background. I have no interest.
