- On October 13 2018 the Mississippi River flooded somewhat in Davenport, Iowa and we went to try and see at least one train the through the waters and we where successful with that. And on the way home we saw some UP trains as well. Other people present, Runnin eight, atsf49, cnp204, and cnsd75i.
"Dispatch, the tracks are flooded. May we proceed, and if so, what speed?"
_"You may proceed at 'Slow No Wake'."_
Everytime i see a vid like this i think of the family guy song "train on the water, boat on the tracks" lol
Great job beening careful through flooding waters
If you look carefully, you can see the soundwaves from the train horn vibrating the water.
Try again rocket scientist!
Looks like the water also ruined the crossings. They're not even functioning now.
The signal maintainer in CP truck on the left may have had the crossing signals turned off.
This is where the term “water’s nothing to an engine with determination” comes in!
"train on the water, boat on the track!"
Nice you got the new paints scheme as well first I’ve seen!!
They will have to add another new paint schem with the arrival of KC making it CPKC.
@@philipperiopel1911yup!
Made me subscribe because of the ACe leader and the best horn, the 3rd gen K5LLA!
that is not an ace, and also the horn isnt a k5lla idk what it is
@adensrailfanningproductions it's a few clips ahead
So did the C.P. make it all the way through, and what did it stop for? None of us will never know. 😢
I'm glad the locomotive made it through the water.. Great video of a huge combo locomotive 🚂. Transporting the nation's goods. Rain or shine the locomotives must run.
Awesome Sam!
Hope those traction motors dry out 😮
Yeah😂
That's the wrong thing to say common sense
Why do the traction motors not short out or electrocute anyone touching the water? I don’t get it.
Nice catches! You don't see trains going through floods.
We had our CATV fiber tech's ride on a ConRail engine on the fright line between Bound Brook, NJ to Manville yard when Floyd hit NJ, through a flooded field that was a little deeper then this too check cables exposed by the Raritan River flooding and reported by ConRail.
I have never seen a train swim before. No lights. Shorted out ??? Later.
why do i find this so cool though? like, its just a train in water
Would have been way better at track speed...
New meaning to “train on the water”
not to be modelled on your layout due to electric shock..thats cool tho, never seen that before. Those lead units were beautiful!
en hueyotlipan, puebla, mexico, tambien logro llegar un tren en esas condiciones y por fortuna nunca se descarrilo...llego completo!!!!
increible aparicion...
🥶🥶🥶🥶🇱🇷🚂📱🤩😍😁🤣👍👍
¡Ja, eso es interesante!
Is the engine run-up at 5:30 to dry out the traction motors?
I would assume that
First time seeing a train swim like a giant snake
SUPER VIDEO (FROM ITALY)
Nope. Davenport Iowa. That's lock and dam 15 in the background. They raised the tracks in sections over the flood to ensure the trains could keep moving.
The levee that was built was eroded and broke and flooded the whole downtown of Davenport that year.
Some speculated the trains waves eroded it faster.
Half way through the video is a pedestrian "sky" bridge that literally leads to no where.
Great video my friend?
I would hate to see those wheels lock out because of the amount of rust that will build out
It's not salt water, so the rust won't be bad.
There are trains operating in shallow salt lakes 24/7 and even their wheels don't lock up :p
Train crews have to be able to stop in half the distance seen.
What kind of waters aren’t flooded?
*sniffs*
Smells like expensive repairs.
Why did the mee-mool lights *(o)T(o)* fail toperate? Very interesting video! Thank you. Why did the train stop?
Whats a meemool light?

@@robertgifton what planet?
Does it causes damage to the traction motors?
They short that motor out how's butt is in the deep water. Ns is a no pass water over tracks
Так боимся так боимся ехать вот индусы ездят так по такой дороге что только брызги летят хорошие а тут в час по чайной ложке и то с большим трудом.
Better to turn volume off
The plow does its job!
How does one "flood the waters?"
😂😂😂😂😂
Oh No
Trains on water more like smoke on the water by deep purple 💜 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Air tank is bent down!! 5:45
Slopedown to allow condensation (water) to blow out of the overpressure valve - I presume.

You don’t add any value to your video by cutting the train. Show all the cars.
😮😮
"The trains WILL run on time." -Mussolini, probably.

Да, безусловно! 😁
