I just realized, Peter didn't sense that Ned was in the room since there was basically no Danger. It was just his friend building their Lego Death Star.
In the comic books and most canons, stuff like that still triggered his spider sense, whenever his secret identity was in jeopardy with someone watching as he unmasked. This was because Peters secret identity was very important to him
@@zlch4021 True although I think in the MCU they’ve made it where his Spider Sense came along a lot slower so at this point he may not have it fully yet. Or it was always there but he ignored it or didn’t fully realize what it was.

If he knew Spider-Man was present at any point before these, the scene would have gone much differently. Scenes like these are going to be looked at from a different lens because of how much Ned helped out Peter. Not only was he a good friend, he was also a good accomplice. Without Ned, I don’t think Pete would’ve been successful against Vulture. It’s a shame that Ned has to forget key moments in Peter’s life, or the fact that he will forget his existence for now. It will be exciting to see what they will do with Ned. In my opinion, his memory wipe was more impactful than MJ.

These movies get the dialogue between friends so well. Ned's so excited and practically teasing Peter about not being able to keep it a secret, but as soon as Peter gets serious about not wanting to worry Aunt May with all that's happened, he immediately gets serious too and agrees.
YES! It's the SUBTLE reference to Uncle Ben i appreciate. At this point, after how many reboots, we don't need the origin story. We get it. When Peter mentions "everything that's happened" to Aunt May, we know what that means, and Ned too understands. It's great.

I know people want to see or have more of a mention of Uncle Ben, but I appreciate the more subtle nods to him in the MCU. When Peter cites Aunt May as to why Ned can't say anything about the secret: "... after everything that's happened with her, please!".... You can tell by both Peter and Ned's expressions what that means, and THAT is what convinces Ned to keep the secret. I dig it!
I’m completely fine with nods to his origin without romanticizing it, since it’s been done before, but I’m glad we’re getting the Freshman Year animated series for those who feel like it’s necessary.
The subtle references work well plus you know that he did lose an uncle Ben at one point

“I mean with everything that has happened to her...” Wow Homecoming only needed one line to touch on Uncle Ben’s death without having to do the whole origin scene
And the way Peter’s Voice breaks and tears start gathering in his eyes, you can see just how much it’s affected Peter, even if they didn’t do the whole death scene again (which I’m honestly glad about. After Sam Rami making us rewatch the fucking death scene in all three of his movies AND having to sit through Andrew Garfield’s Uncle Ben death I was honestly Ben fatigued at that point)

How the fuck would that foreshadow Tony’s death? Peter said, “I mean with everything that has happened to her.” That’s past tense. It already happened. Tony won’t die for years after this. Those lines had nothing to do with each other, especially since May barely knows him, and won’t be affected that much when he dies.

Part of me wishes that Ned was the only one left who remembered Peter’s identity as Spider-Man. Even if the Avengers don’t know Peter anymore, that’s fine as Peter would still have his best friend at least. On the other hand, this could set up a potential return for Jacob as a villain, which would be pretty cool considering how scared Ned was of turning evil and trying to kill Peter
