Ok, tried this. first time, no luck. I repeated and it worked. This after the lock store said they couldn't do it and I woud have to take it to a dealer. Dealer said they could try, but as it was an aftermarket it was $125 whether it worked or not. Over $325 (i think, $300 +). So, it was $150 when done, I just had to find this video to make it work. Thanks. PS, in order to program a key yourself, make sure you keep a working key put away so you always have a working one (this car takes two to program a cut blank per manual). I didn't find this procedure in the owners manual for the remote function though).

Use that key in your door lock to lock/unlock your car. If it doesn't do anything you might have to go back to where you had your key cut and they should see what the problem is. It's usually not a computer problem on these cars.

Worked perfectly for a 2013 too. You have to turn key like 12 times.

I wish I've found this video before . I tried programing with the on and off 8x like the other models.
This guy also did 8x on and off.
My F150 was 8x on off on. My Escape chimed on the off side.

Same for me. And I did try it on the doors, and it worked. It just won’t start it. Any suggestions?
