- Asian Art specialist Tristan Bruck introduces a collection of Chinese and Korean Buddhist bronzes that tell the story of religious art in Asia across 600 years, from the 4th century to the 10th century AD.
From a 4th-century Buddhist statue with Indian and Greco-Roman origins that traces the path of Alexander the Great’s conquests, to a later, more idealised representation of Buddha, the collection provides ‘a window into the private lives of people who lived 1500 years ago’.

I started looking into Buddhism a few years ago and find the art form of his likeness intriguing. I enjoyed this very much.
May Buddha bless all
Very interesting and worthwhile video. Beautiful ancient bronzes.
So beautiful collection... so amazing
no Gotamid (ie the buddha) iconography exists prior to the 2nd century CE (AD), ....earliest (original) buddhism forbid corporeal representation of the Persona we call Gotama (ie "the Buddha").

And why is he not wearing gloves when handling pieces that are over a thousand years old ??? I'm surprised .No acid in my sweat
Gloves aren't necessary for all materials. There's chemistry involved in this. If you don't know it, best not to jump to conclusions.
are some of the statues made of "Brass"?
Bronze and copper alloy mostly. You get brass in the western Himalayas in the 13 that’s and 14th century
❤️👍
It looks best where it belongs
