    There is a special ground cloth that is used under gravel driveways. It prevents the gravel from sinking into the dirt. TH-camrs Van Wives used it for their off grid cabin in the woods of Nova Scotia. So far no sinking of the gravel driveway. It will be interesting to see if the lot will get waterlogged in the monsoon rains, hopefully not. If there is a water issue you could line the area with sandbags and fill as much of the area with rocks and dirt to build up the area where you might build the earth home.

    Make sure you slope the sides slightly don't want it completely flat

    Seven with reference to the hypoadobe bag homes, if you look up "My Little Homestead" and "Tiny Shiny Home" , they have and are building using this method

    Rather than gravel look in to asphalt millings . I have them on my drive way it just having an asphalt drive way. Ok pros & con gravel dust humps up high maintenance pro for millings the more you drive on it the hard it gets no dust.

    Arizona might have a rainy season & it might get a lot of rain, but it
    definitely is NOT a monsoon. A monsoon happens in the South China sea
    where every day at almost the exact same time the sky opens up & rain like
    you have never ever experienced comes down in a monster torrent. The
    streets flood, the stores flood to ankle depth, THEN, as soon as it began, it
    stops. Until same time tomorrow. A monsoon is a tropical phenomena
    Arizona is WAY too dry for a monsoon. Yes, it rains alot, but it is NOT a
    monsoon. Not even close.

      The National Weather Service calls it a monsoon. I run a weather station and we also refer to it as a monsoon here in New Mexico. Apparently monsoons are different around the world buf if you don't like the use of the word you can take it up with the NWS.

    Be sure to cover up the compressor of the AC unit when you're pulling the trailer so it doesn't overspeed the fan. Going 50 miles an hour down the interstate will be too much for that fan and after awhile it will burn out its bearings

      I was wondering about bugs or rain getting into the unit while driving. A cover sounds like a hood idea

    Surprised a driveway needed a permit. Heard you have "permitless" permits there.

    • @SevenWanderstheWorld
      @SevenWanderstheWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it is commonly called a "driveway" permit but in reality it is to allow me to connect to a blacktop road maintained by the county and designated as a "right of way" permit for 20ft between the blacktop and my fence line.

    U need some kind of ground textile under the gravel, so the gravel doesn’t sink. Or the gravel will just disappear for u

    • @SevenWanderstheWorld
      @SevenWanderstheWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      few people have mentioned that. I'm doing more research on gravel sinking into soil now and waiting to see how it does during monsoon season before adding more

      @@SevenWanderstheWorld Hey Seven, we met in Anza Borrego years ago. I was the guy that goes to Mexico for the winter.
      Anyway I live in Taos have built and remodeled several adobe homes, if you have questions feel free to reach out.
      Also best practice for putting in a road on our desert clay land is pit run, then base course, then gravel.
      Just be careful when the rains come

    Hey seven thanks for the video. Are there other lots similar to the one you bought for sale there in arizona. And did you buy the land from the city or county or was it a private seller. And is there a way to get fresh water out to your land?

    • @SevenWanderstheWorld
      @SevenWanderstheWorld  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      purchased from private seller. although I can put in a well, my plan is to do a large rain catchment to large cisterns which is popular in my area
