It’s such a shame Apple doesn’t allow JIT compilation in apps. When I side loaded Dolphin with a dev account, it ran flawlessly with JIT. Even games like Galaxy 2 were a solid 60.

Yea because JIT is essential for Native like emulation
Apple restricts their ecosystem in the worst way and it's good they finally get punished and regulations for it, but it's 40 years too late. Full AI-deloading and root access should be possible on all IOS devices, no Jailbreak needed

Yeah, JIT is great! Especially on Apple’s chipsets. But the thing is that JIT allows code to gain full access to the system. Which goes against the company’s security initiative.

Not just on mobile, it also sucks on laptops, in fact it sucks everywhere ux-wise, I installed it on my MacBook and jesus christ I couldn't believe how shitty the whole thing was, felt like I was set 25 years ago during the Bleem era. Although even Bleem's interface wasn't so bloated.

@@kupokinzyt I've done this before when I worked on Goomba Color. There's no dynamic recompilation or JIT in that emulator, but I did speed up a few games by finding sequences of instructions, and writing native code to carry out what that sequence of instructions does. What I did was done by hand. But it could also be done in an automated way. You analyze a bunch of games, find out what sequences of instructions run the most, generate native code to replace it, and this would be done ahead of time, before the emulator is compiled. Won't be as good as actual JIT, but will speed things up a bit.

My only real complaint is that without using cloud storage like Dropbox or iCloud or Google Drive it is a pain to get files _onto_ an iOS device. I understand _why_ Apple do it this way but I wish they would just suck it up and support normal mass storage transfer like Android does.

For the 60Hz content you could try calibrating your refresh rate if you're getting odd microstutters every so often. To maintain consistent frame pacing the refresh rate needs to be correctly configured. Every screen is different so there is no magic number or values, it can vary on a case by case basis.
Go to Settings -> Video -> Output. Watch what the 'Estimated Screen Refresh Rate' says. Select it and press the 'Start' button to restart calibration. Do nothing for about 2048 frames (in 60Hz mode) or 4096 frames (in 120Hz mode) and wait until it stabilizes. Then press the 'OK' button to set this as the refresh rate. if it's still not quite right, just redo this process and wait a bit until you get a good enough measurement and then just hit the OK button to set that.
On a 120Hz capable iDevice you could also try setting refresh rate to 120Hz (either calibrating it as described above or just setting 120 at Refresh Rate) and then using 'Sync to Exact Content Framerate'. There's a lot more one can tweak and experiment with but those are the two that first comes to mind.

Alright question: If Apple is prohibiting apps from using JiT coding for "security reasons", then why do they allow it in web browsers? An app has to go through a bunch of approval processes before it can go on the App Store, but Apple cannot vet the internet as a whole when you're using a web browser. I'd say that the web browser having JiT is much more of a security risk than an app that Apple had to approve of,
