Hi i saw your videos related to Canada process. All are really very honest,point full and helpfull. Im planing for PR.. please tell me can we carry gold coins or bars as well, and how cash we in any form we could take with us.
For new jewelry bought in India and bringing back to Canada as a citizen- If you declare the jewelry will you pay duties and customs?

If we are doing a soft landing for PR stamping but coming back a few months later to settle, can we inform immigration officer about this at the first entry and then bring the gold evaluation documents at the time of hard-landing in the second round?
If carry all my jewelry it will worth a lot more than 10 thousand Canadian dollars. So I want to know if you carried more than 10k worthy jewelry? Or the limit is only 10 thousand dollars?

No the receipts aren’t required. Just an estimated value on a page will work.

For first time it’s allowed any amount . But for second time or beyond just wear it instead of carrying in luggage bag but what you can’t just let them know make sure it’s under $10,000 cdn

Hi, thanks for this informative video! :) Is valuation of the gold jewellery required from a registered valuer? Also, do I also have to carry the jewellery purchase bills of my home country?
No that’s not imp.
You can get the valuation from any local jeweller . Or maybe if you know the weight and value(estimated) you can write that as well

Actually they will just stamp the page which has details , it is not necessary that they will ask you to show the jewellery

Print outs of your jewellery,it’s weight and value in CAD and INR.
As per best of my knowledge only on PR are you allowed to carry your unlimited gold that too on your first entry.
Forms are available at immigration
Hi! I want to know about carrying artificial jewelry. I have many South Indian and Pakistani artificial jewelry. And I want to take them with me to Canada. Would you please suggest to me how I can carry them? I want to keep them in my check-in bag, so, would it be any problem? absolutely no,even i carried my artificial jewellery with me.you need not declare it anywhere.

It will be convenient for me to carry them in the check-in bag. And it would be really good if no hassles occur before the flight/during the immigration. Thanks!
Let me ask one thing - Even if I carry them (maybe half of the artificial jewelry) in my hand luggage, I don't need to declare them - am I correct?

How much is it to make gold vauation certificate? Do they charge u for that?
Depends on jeweller to jeweller. But I would suggest you to make your own pdf document and note down an estimated value for it.
A formal gold valuation is not required at all.
For jewellery 1. We're there any checks at indian Airport 2. What if in future you would like to bring them back to India? 3. Did you do jewellery evaluation by yourself or did you get it professionally done in india?
So. There were no jewellery checks at Indian airport.
If you get your printed pages stamped you can show them at the customs next time you bring that jewellery to and fro from canada to India.
I got it evaluated from a recognised jeweller , however that is not at all manadatory.

@@mmg6307 yes that’s correct . You will have to carry the stamped paper every time you carry those pieces of jewellery
Is it only for people coming as permanent resident or is it same for people coming on work permit?
Unfortunately I only have information for people coming on PR.

????either need to show diamond discerption separately or consider as simple gold weight as showing in your video
You can take diamond sets. And if you don’t have some specific gifts , you can always say it was a gift
If person is PR in spouse case and visit first time , carrying gold amount is nearby 25000 CAD.. (amount is more than 10000 CAD) then they have to pay duty on it??

Anything that you are wearing is allowed. If by any chance customs find out huge amount of gold in your luggage they might ask for duty. As only PR entering canada for the first time can bring any amount of jewellery tax free.

Weight limit depends on your Airline. Only on first time PR basis can you legally carry any amount of gold.
