Video idea: rank your TBR by interest level. This might help to prioritise your reading and reduce your TBR. I know Kayla did something similar by reading a first chapter but that seems like a lot of work, so you could just go off synopsis or ~vibes~ 😂
hearing you mention the Karen Read trial as someone that grew up in that area of Massachusetts was WILD - absolutely insane the media coverage that case got
Gotta say, you can just erase Camp Zero from your consciousness because it's not a thriller, it's more literary but with that said it's also not good at being literary. I don't think it's something you would enjoy. Razorblade Tears however is fantastic!!
I love these videos! They remind me of books I missed. My brain is mouse size though and it would be lovely if you could leave the title/cover up the whole time you talk about it 😅
I really liked Age of Vice but I would just keep in mind that there is supposed to be a sequel. I didn't know that when I read it so I found the ending a bit unsatisfactory but knowing that I liked it more.
Honestly, I personally would not recommend A Million to One. I read it last year because the premise sounded so fun, but I found it to be very mediocre. But the thing that actually bothered me is the following: the book advertises itself as being _~super diverse~_ culture wise, with all 4 of the main characters being from pretty different cultures and background (which is such a fun idea), but I found it to not be so at all. I cannot speak for the other 3 characters (tho I have heard and read other reviews that agree with me), one of the main characters is _supposedly_ Croatian. But there was _absolutely noting_ Croatian about her. She could have just as easily had any other cultural background and one could not tell at all. Which bothered me, because it felt disingenuous to me and as if the author only tacked on those backgrounds so that the book could be oh so diverse (which is one of reasons I picked it up in the first place). Now, for the sake of full transparency, I am Serbian and not Croatian, but it is my opinion that Serbian and Croatian cultures are almost completely the same (along with other ex-Yugoslavian cultures).
I'm pretty sure that Alice Oseman didn't rate This Book kills because it was one of the books shortlisted for the YA book prize and she was one of the judges. She wouldn't have been allowed to give a rating at the time.
Gotta say I was disappointed by the writing in Nic Blake. I ended up DNFing. Some of it could be written off as me not being the target audience since it is for kids, but my main issue was the fantasy writing seemed clumsy and awkward. It is possible it will get better as the series goes on and she gets more experience with writing fantasy.
Age of Vice was a huge disappointment for me. too long (literally the narrative is like completely retold from another character's POV but not fresh) and gratuitous descriptions of violence. I had it from BOTM too and had to unhaul I disliked so much.
If you're looking to get back into your witchy era, might I suggest the Witches of Thistle Grove Series by Lana Harper ✨️ witchy. cozy Fall vibes. romance. easy read.
Video idea read the books you own from the unread but still interested category just to get it off your plate
Right!!? I’d have thought this would be obvious! Yes please! ❤

When I want to read a book but don't want to pay the money for it I use my library to get it. Then if I love it I buy a copy.
Libraries are so underutilized!
Nothing like finding out one of your favorite BookTubers is a LawNerd!! 💜

This book kills is so so good. I couldn't put it down and the authors second book catch your death is also really good. Both have awesome endings.
Mimicking of known successes is such a slam dunk, I love the second one even more !
You perfectly read half of them! Well done 🤩

I immediately gave the video a thumbs up as soon as I heard the word 'premisi' 😂

20:34 I didn’t love The Writing Retreat I found it kind of boring and dare I say mediocre 😅
18:28 hello, fellow Law Nerd! I love EDB & her content too lol 💜💜💜
Since you like court cases/settings I wonder if you would like some of Jodi Picoult’s books!?
I enjoyed The London Seance Society just as much as the first.
This book kills is fun, I'd say more vibes of truly devious than AGGGTM. I think I gave it 3.5 or 4*

We closely follow the Karen Read trial in my house since we lived near canton at the time! It was so unexpected to hear her name in this video
