Add a trendline to a chart to forecast future values. Excel contains a few features to help predict future values that reflect past data. These include a few functions and the ability to add a trendline to a chart for a visual representation of the forecast.
This video describes the different types of trendline that can be added and then demonstrates the application of 2 different trendlines to a chart.
The R squared value is used to determine the accuracy of the trendline.
