It's hysterical to me that people complain about the gas cap under the seat. This bike is spectacular. The DCT is flawless. No single bike is going to make everyone happy.
Love my 2021 NC-750x manual 6 speed. With a slipper clutch it is the easiest bike to ride anywhere. I’ve got several big Triumph 1200’s for touring, but when I just need to commute or just take a Sunday spin this bike is perfect. I’m 73 and I still love motorcycle riding. At some point I will probably get a DCT, but for now I still like to row my own. Enjoyed your review and a new subscriber. Cheers from snowy Wisconsin.
I have an older 2015 manual, its an awesome bike, very nimble and easy to ride, fuel efficient, and Honda's reliability on every aspect! Little short on power, but it does what it was meant to do, ride, ride and keep riding, at low cost, with the pleasure of riding! You know what, in my 45 years of riding, i had plenty of bikes, powerful ones, fast bikes, slow bikes, and you know what? The wind going through your helmet and on your chest, is exactly the same, so enjoy the wind, the ride, whatever you ride! Awesome review by the way! 👌
My brother won't even sit on one as he says they are two-wheel cars. So many comments such as "I prefer gears so I am in control". I find myself asking "have they tried one though?". I'm going to guess they haven't. The NC750X-DCT is by a country mile the most versatile bike I have ever ridden. Stupidly easy to ride, unbelievably frugal (100mpg easily achievable) light, and cheap as chips compared to litre plus machines. It will still leave the vast majority of cars standing from the traffic lights, and when you want a bit more 'oomph' just use sport mode. The only downside in my opinion is the lack of cruise control, but that's not a deal breaker, just an inconvenience.

I'm in the thought process of maybe picking up an NC750X DCT. I've owned two DCT's to date. One being an '18 Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports DCT and the other an '18 Honda Goldwing Tour DCT Airbag. I love the DCT. I just sold the Africa Twin (big mistake!) and am in the market for something similar but a bit lighter and with a lower center of gravity. I know from all the reports that the NC750 is no speedster. But, I'm not looking for 1/4 mile drag capabilities. I just want all around good fun. I think this is it. Thanks for a decent review and video. SR
I am wondering why more manufacturers don't do what Honda did by moving the gas tank down lower to help with the handling of the bike. I think that they could even improve on it a bit more by putting the fuel spout off to the side a bit rather than under the seat. I believe BMW does this on some of their bikes. Having to remove the seat to access the fuel spout is definitely not ideal but I can live with it if it improves the handling and by all reports it does that.
I haven't been 'into bikes' for a long, Long time but one of the features that I loved with my old '78 Kawasaki KZ 1000 was the Down-shifting- the noise, the breaking power and then the acceleration!!!! As a recent subscriber, I've been looking at some of the 'back catalogue ' ! I like all types of bikes, I'm a sporty type rider at heart, but I fully understand the nc750x.... would be great for the b and c road explores I like do sometimes and with great mpg too. I think the NC code is for new concept, as the frame and layout is scooter meets motorcycle, there was a scooter version of the 700 - same frame and engine.

One of the worst things is the seat comfort,,but that’s easy and cheap enough to sort.. Cracking bikes,,and the majority of owners love em
Hope you didn't ride too far with the hand brake on I love my 2021 DCT done 24k miles on it now. I find the brakes are very adequate, especially the rear, the best rear brake I've had. The suspension though is very harsh, so completely the opposite of what you found with the bike. I use my bike every day to commute, and have done a tour of France and Spain. going to Germany on it in 2023. No issues at all. Running on a second set of Dunlop RoadSmart tyres, and the handling is great. As a previous commentator has said the fuel filler would be best on the side rather under the pillion seat. A real pain when touring.
I got to ride the old NC700S for a few days. I was very impressed with it. Especially the sound and low center of gravity. Now I’m considering the NC750X dct. I’m sure it’s not the most powerful thing, but the dct should make up for it. Fast acceleration because of the shifts.
Or at the very least belt drive. Chains are old tech that can be messy. At least with a belt you eliminate having to lubricate it and not be worrying about the tension like you do with a chain. I have no idea if it is true but I have heard that shaft drives have a reputation of robbing the bike of some power and this is already not a very powerful bike. Powerful enough for what I want to use it for but there will be those who wouldn't want to lose any power if a shaft drive does indeed do that to a bike.
It’s well nigh impossible to find a sub-800cc bike with shaft drive. Moto Guzzi no longer has one, eith their smallest shaftie being their 850cc V7. I ride a 1982 Suzuki GS650G with shaft and I love the lack of fiddling and convenience. Detractors talk about the added weight, but forget that the heaviest thing on the bike is their McDonalds-fed arse.
A very competent bike. Regularly use mine 2 up, including a fully loaded Spanish trip. Have had larger tourers in the past but feel this bike is pretty much ideal. Its not that heavy, Not that fast but fast enough to cruise at 80 plus. Not sure I agree about always being in the perfect gear as on twisty Stuff it’s often better in manual mode
I tend to agree. When in the twisties use those buttons that masquerade as paddle shifters and you should be able keep the engine where you want it. I haven't used this DCT system but like most things I think that with a bit of practice it can't be all that hard to get onto it. I wouldn't expect this bike with DCT to suddenly turn into something that it isn't but I can see there being a lot of advantages to it especially for new riders.
I recently got back into riding Jun 2022 to deal with a long commute to a new job. I bought this bike (manual verson) because it was great on gas according to research. I can confirm that yes it is good on gas (59 mpg @ 90% highway riding), but I sold it within a month to get a more powerful bike as it wasn't satisfying the speed itch for me. I can also confirm that getting gas was annoying because I mounted my backpack to the passenger seat.
That sort of backs up my review... its a great commuter being so fuel efficient but in order to get more power then the trade off is less miles to a tank of fuel
I've borrowed my Dad's recently and it's a very good bike. Suspension compared to my Tracer 9 GT is superb! The only downside for me is the revs are set very low, my Dad sad it's because it's essentially a car engine, based off the Honda Jazz Car, so if you stick it in manual mode and use the paddle shifters to change gears, it hits the rev limiter VERY quickly, in every gear. I've been trying to overtake a few times and it hit the rev limiter within seconds. Quite annoying but I guess it's not made to be a sports bike. I would certainly have one for commuting, it's perfect for the job.
Manufacturers do put a gauge on most bikes that clearly shows the RPM's that the engine is operating at. Experienced riders don't really need it as the sound of the bike will tell them when it is time to shift gears. It is such a simple thing to use on a DCT because the timing of getting off the throttle and using the clutch is eliminated with a simple push of a button. Almost everything that you do on a motorcycle comes down to practice. What could be easier than just pushing a button to keep the engine in the sweet spot for RPM's.
@@richardwestmoreland4796 That might be true on a "normal motorcycle" but the NC750 isn't a normal bike engine, it's a modified Honda Jazz Car engine which I'm assuming why it hit the rev limiter so quickly. You might get used to it if you are riding one all the time and not one for pulling the throttle back but as I said, I was only testing my Dads, so it's not something I will be getting used to....luckily.

If you plop bikes into different price brackets then could it be the best in its bracket? Iv'e got the D version with full Honda luggage and in my opinion nothing else comes anywhere near it!
honestly for me, i think id love the DCT... i want a bike as a commuter, a long ride weekends or just going out on a lazy day to enjoy a ride, i dont care about speed and blasting at a million miles an hour down the carriageway
I find the brakes fine on my nc750x, after all the new BMW 900R cup racing bike has a single front disk too, not to mention my range rover only has one disk per wheel and weighs 2.5 tons!, another youtube reviewer also mocked the lack of twin disks but stated the ABS kicks in fine - so it can lock the front wheel then? How much more braking is needed beyond locking up? Enjoyed the review tho😂
A lot of people prefer a bit more bite in brakes. It doesn't need as much pressure. So, you get more sensitivity while braking. I would guess that the NC750 brakes could be tuned up with better pads.
@@waynerobertson511 Does the NC750 have just a single caliper? I would think that the addition of another caliper would help with braking but it would probably also add cost to the bike and Honda's are already not exactly cheap.
Is suppose the question is not is this the perfect all rounder, but is it the best all rounder currently in the market? Its competition also have flaws… I need a bike to do a 60 Mike commute into central London and a few weekends and one long tour two up with luggage once a year. Obviously the NT11 or big BMWs woukd be better for a two week tour in Europe, but what about the other 50 weeks in the year?
Ex-owner of 2021 manual version: it’s is NOT an adventure bike. Even a gravel road is a disaster for this suspension that got shortened after 2020. If you need to commute on asphalt you may appreciate it but bear in mind that MT version cant crawl without clutch.
I want to like this bike but having the fuel filler cap under the seat is dumb, they should have routed a filler neck out to the side cover because removing luggage to fill up on the road is not exactly brilliant engineering.
When I have my tank bag on my traditional gas tank I have to take it off and put it on when I fill up. Seems about the same. And the lid is not exposed to the elements when under the seat.
@@beardrn Utter nonsense, anything strapped over the rear seat needs to be removed to access filler cap. I have travelled far and wide on many different bikes and the nt series Honda is capable to travel the world...except the stupid filler cap under the seat.
Hi did 3.000 miles around Ireland brilliant long distance bike fuel brilliant super comfortable loads of space up front in the fronk . With a top box easy week away . Will cruise 80mph all day if you want . Just change the screen & your away . Very under estimate bike .
I wonder ... could you mod the suspension to a 19in front wheel and tire on this thing? That would be a substantial upgrade if you plan to use this for adventure touring imho.
It's AWESOME and MOST SENSIBLE though I'm far from owning one here in INDIA it hasnt been launched... I KNOW A WORKHORSE and this is one LOOKS BALANCED, COMFORTABLE, ( RIDER & PILLION) LOW TECH ( LESS CONFUSION) HIGH MILEAGE ( COMPARATIVELY TO OTHER MODELS IN SAME CC SEGMENT) , RELIABLE (most middle class can own just one mid segment bike ) & DURABLE ( the CVTS by Honda are good quality ) = VALUE FOR MONEY . I'd prefer this to any other bike in the market anyday.
The only reason to buy the NC 750 X is : 1. DCT 2. Fuel consumption The Honda transalpine 750 XL has normal adventure wheels size and better engine and good fuel consumption which is a bit more then the NC 750 yet does not have DCT . IF THE Transalpine had a DCT I would have picked it every single day over the NC 750 . The Transalpine has the powerful yet economical on fuel Hornet engine . Very very good strong reliable and economical engine which Honda is continuing with in the future .
5:19 technically speaking the fuel tank is actually under your ass! Only the filler cap is under the rear seat 😂 so basically ya sat on top of 14 liter of highly combustible liquid😉
What is the point of saying that this bike is "frugal" and has "excellent mpg" but not actually saying how many miles can this bike travel on one galon of fuel?? Give us the numbers man!
Got mine 2022 (manual transmission) about 1 month ago and after about 2000km every single full tank of gas gives me average of 3.3l/100km which equals 71 US mpg. and 85 imperial mpg. That’s according to the gauge. In real life it seems more like 3l/100km (94 UK mpg). Riding in sport mode all the time.
@richardhretczak536 - How do you ride in sport mode on a manual transmission bike?? I thought only automatic (dct) gearbox had the different modes you can chose to ride on. 🤔

Ex-owner of 2021 manual version: it’s is NOT an adventure bike. Even a gravel road is a disaster for this suspension that got shortened after 2020. If you need to commute on asphalt you may appreciate it but bear in mind that MT version cant crawl without clutch.
i am looking around at different bikes, so truthfully would this make a good beginner bike
I’m renting this bike tomorrow in Grand Canaria. I heard negative feedback about stock tyres, what was your impression about it ?
Sorry, But yes I noticed, you left the "handbrake" on at he beginning of the vid! lol I Have NC DCT (21) and love it
🥸 might have done
I want to like this bike but having the fuel filler cap under the seat is dumb, they should have routed a filler neck out to the side cover because removing luggage to fill up on the road is not exactly brilliant engineering.
When I have my tank bag on my traditional gas tank I have to take it off and put it on when I fill up. Seems about the same. And the lid is not exposed to the elements when under the seat.
If you're hauling THAT much luggage, you've purchased the wrong motorcycle
@@grace4charles My tank bag is magnetic, pull out of way in 2 seconds.
@@beardrn Utter nonsense, anything strapped over the rear seat needs to be removed to access filler cap. I have travelled far and wide on many different bikes and the nt series Honda is capable to travel the world...except the stupid filler cap under the seat.
Pathetic.
Hi did 3.000 miles around Ireland brilliant long distance bike fuel brilliant super comfortable loads of space up front in the fronk . With a top box easy week away . Will cruise 80mph all day if you want . Just change the screen & your away . Very under estimate bike .
Nice review, do you think the NC is beginner friendly? Cheers ✌️
Yes, absolutely
i had the ncs, i wasn't impressed, ill give this one a go though. pity the brakes are not double on the front.
Please review an XADV 750 with use DCT system too!
Nice motorcycle jacket mate what is the name ?
Seen the bat bike based on this it looks cool 😎
I can see why
@@BikesofRye my uncle and his son have 1 each down woking way. Son took his kid to school prom on his recently with a Batman suit on etc was good 👍🏼
As a person on the autism spectrum the DCT was way more easier for me to learn how to ride a motorcycle.
Aye in the same boat here lol. Though i started on a scooter and now looking at a DCT for my main bike
I wonder ... could you mod the suspension to a 19in front wheel and tire on this thing? That would be a substantial upgrade if you plan to use this for adventure touring imho.
Thanks for the look
I see you took the handbrake off after a while...
is it possible to make a U turn on a road from 6 meter with the honda dct ?
That was a beautiful restored antique car at 8:12. Anyone know what it was?
this is first aid motorcycle in DUBAI
that 2 motorcycle rush to spot before ambulance arrives,
was it white smoke??
I bet that back brake got hot at the start when you left the hand brake on 🤐😉
2:37 didn't You forget about the parking brake?
how DCT works? no brake with motor engine?
Great video!!
Love the dct !!
Good bike for a first timer ?
Yes it would be actually very much so
My V max had fuel tank under the seat and just look how they are thought of these days!
Do you think it would be possible to change the front break to twin disc?
It would be possible... Worth the cost though? It would be costly
I think the brakes are ok, although i hate the look of a single disc on a bigish bike.
No need, just get some EBC brake pads, front & back, makes all the difference in the world, like night and day braking power and efficiency..;-)
Need it in India in the crazy traffic
You do have a clutch in fact you have two, clue is in the name. What you don’t have is a clutch lever and gear change lever.
Can these be restricted so can ride on an a2 licence?
yes
It's my lovely bike
I lost 4 finger's on my right hand...but have thumb and part of my pointer finger. Can the brake lever on right be moved to the left hand?
sure!
I was twitching a bit on some them bends u was doing lol
I can't understand why Honda don't put proper mug guards on the bikes ffs, not everyone wants to constantly clean their bikes.
3:00 how long did you have the parking brake on before you realized? Greta way to glaze your rotor.
In this pot holed ridden country with speed cameras everywhere this makes sense
at 8:15 frame the bike nearly ran into a 1936 Austin which has a 745cc engine. 5 cc lesser than the bike
I don't know how anyone could say the NC750x lacks power ? that's just mad.
I wonder how it compares to a stock engined DR650? That's what I've been riding for the last 8 years but looking into a DCT bike.
front double disc make it manly bigbikes looks... performance still there....
How can I engine braking in this bike 🙂
As dct changes down it gives substantial engine braking.
I drove the NC many times, CB500X does it better, NC is more a car on 2 wheels
👍🏼 🏍️
You are riding with the parking brake on.
Where is the centre stand Mister Honda? This is not a race bike where weight saving is paramount.Stil up to the old tricks!
The only reason to buy the NC 750 X is :
1. DCT
2. Fuel consumption
The Honda transalpine 750 XL has normal adventure wheels size and better engine and good fuel consumption which is a bit more then the NC 750 yet does not have DCT .
IF THE Transalpine had a DCT I would have picked it every single day over the NC 750 .
The Transalpine has the powerful yet economical on fuel Hornet engine . Very very good strong reliable and economical engine which Honda is continuing with in the future .
It's 2023 now and it costs 8699 pounds! Too much I fear
Yes to NCX
No to DCT
Kadin Underpass
5:19 technically speaking the fuel tank is actually under your ass! Only the filler cap is under the rear seat 😂 so basically ya sat on top of 14 liter of highly combustible liquid😉
Or have it between your legs. Either way you're usually parted from the bike by the time it goes off. 🤪
Basically like a higher cc scooter in motorbike 🤔😂
Good practical bike lacking the wow factor and devoid of character and excitement…..isn’t that really why we choose to ride bikes?
$12000 bike with 58hp, something wrong
What's that aus dollars?
25562 Kihn Harbor
Clark Thomas Lee Jeffrey Anderson Steven
That's a 2021bike
Very good bike to ride .. but small fuel tank.. and and it's placement under seat 👎👎👎
Yes, but it’s so frugal you can get 400 km’s out of it. Which most other bikes of this size would need a significantly larger tank to achieve.
@@ralflofstad 400 kms.. no wayy..
@@jimkaana I have actually managed that on some occasions. Typically around 350, though.
What a boring bike
Some crazy´s have to act normal and this thing can help them so sure
